Suit up for classic comedy! Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) and Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) take a chance on going freelance, de-haunting houses in a new ghost removal service. The effects and imagery from this scene rock. Something about ancient Mesopotamian gods and demons under that kind of smoky sky is so unnerving.
Sumerian gods were scary AF. If you ever get a chance to learn to read cuneiform then read some of the descriptions in the original text. It’ll give you nightmares lol
And, on top of it all, after being recumbent for a thousand years, this ancient god returns in 1984 as the Destructor...
...only to take on the hilariously terrifying form of a giant, smiling marshmallow man?!

I like how can see the moment he thought of it and his terrified realization of what he has just done.
I also love how Peter, Egon and Winston just turn to Ray when they realized what he did to give Gozer the form of the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man.
I wish I coulda been a teen in the 80s so many awesome movies, Star Wars, ghostbusters, Indiana Jones, plus more- it was a golden time for movies

I was 11 when this came out,alot of great memories
I was 16 when it came out. Saw it over 20 times in the theater. Thankfully for matinee pricing
I was 24 and I still thought (think) it was the best movie ever. But then I also watched these guys on SNL and my favorite movie of all time is another Ramos great, “Animal House”.
To be honest, from the early eighties to the early 2000s, THAT was the golden age of the awesome, adventurous, magical movie. After the mid 2000s everything has just been superheroes and they're cool but a little variety would be nice.

@@JoshuaModerwell in the HISHE video, one of the endings was how Gozer was happy with the answeer and Winston used her distraction to slip a trap underneath her and suck her in. The downside and that Dana and Louis remained terror dogs.

Me too, especially when the Marshmallow Man gets to the top of the building when they cross the streams. It adds to the suspense for me since now they gotta hurry it up before he gets to them.

It makes no sense. All the ghosts they caught were on the loose after Pecker shut off the containment unit plus who honestly would think the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man would be part of some trick? That’s one thing about II that doesn’t make sense
@@GarrettBriles-sq9ih i have no issues how this played out, so what if ghosts became loose, they're not some lions let loose into the public, ghosts are part of the cycle and you cannot get rid of them, its just one big cycle, as for mr staypuff, i don't what you're confused here, apparently the powers that be allowed humanity the way it wants them to go out, but doors shut and everything from that dimension stops coming through which also destroy mr staypuff, just enjoy the ride of the film

I am glad to see that the Ghostbusters Afterlife 2 is currently in the pipeline with a release date of later on in 2023.
They are returning to New York but with the 6 new cast members who are:
Phoebe,
Trevor,
Callie,
Podcast,
Lucky and
Gary.
Winston is going to remain as he's bankrolling things now.
Ray & Venkman will be involved, however it remains unclear whether it's as they are or they're getting killed and becoming like Egon.
But either way I think it's fair to say that Ray & Venkman are both going to take much more of a backseat.
From what I am led to believe the intention for Ghostbusters Afterlife 2 is to bring back Viggo the Carpathian again, which is a shame because they could really do with coming out with some new villians.

One thing I've recently noticed is that the horns on one of the terror dogs are longer than those of the other one. It's assumed that the one with the short horns is Zuul while the one with the long horns is Vince.
In addition, this scene is very tense, especially when the four Ghostbusters are right at the edge of the building and could have fallen off at that moment.
