I like that idea of John David Washington taking over for Denzel Washington. It could definitely work. I think these are the only sequels that Denzel Washington has starred in. So why not keep the movies going.
To me danzels son doesn't even have half the charisma that his father has, I have a really hard time watching the movies he's in
Except that he doesn't have 1/10th the charisma or masculine energy dad has.
Altamonte is the name of the fictional town. I've seen it twice. I REALLY loved the slow burner that it was. It was refreshing to me as opposed to 120 minutes of non stop action action action. The villains were one dimensional, BUT well acted. It was soooooo much fun. I'd give it 8 out of 10.
Old man action movies kinda makes sense. As you get older and not being able to do as much, seeing someone one the screen your age who can still go hand to hand with the bad guys is a form of wish fulfillment. I think it started with movies like Deathwish and kinda saw a big bump with movies with Harrison Ford in the 90's. But it really took a huge leap in the last 15 years or so. A lot of older movie goers just don't want to see their favorite stars retire. And in a sense, they are the last movie stars. People don't really care who plays Batman or Spider-man, but they will still see a Denzel or Tom Cruise movie.
.....or, it could be that older men today (40's, 50's, 60's) have statistically higher testosterone levels and crave action movies. I don't foresee Ed Sheeran or Harry Stiles in a " Death Wish" reboot anytime soon.
Lol. Very interesting theory.
SOOOO TRUUEE!!
Wow, excellent post. Sad but true.
Its funny. I just finished watching a trailer for Virtuosity. A 90s sci fi thriller with Denzel Washington and Russel Crowe.
"Hey Parker! Deja Vu!"
Virtuosity is GOOD. Cheesy but fun.
Wasn't Virtuosity Russell Crowe's breakout film?
@@mephistro In America? Probably
Alachia rocking a 1911 in the thumbnail! Do we really need to see the video, lol. Notwithstanding, a very objective, thorough review.👍
Really not sure why companies decided it'd be a good idea to make BB and airsoft guns look 100% identical to the real thing with absolutely nothing on it to mark it as a fake. Seems like an easy way to get capped by someone not realizing it's a BB gun. lmfao.
Smith & Wesson 5906 ... prop gun.
Dude this is the way things were back then. This thing is from the 80s
@@nukiesduke6868 Back in the 70's and 80's they made bb guns that looked like the real thing. Laws were passed so they would be more easily distinguishable.
Just saw it and really enjoyed it
Setting is just gorgeous and makes you want to live there
For the first time noticed his feet are probably as big as mine, haha
As a stunt performer the fights are very well crafted
A nice surprise
😎🤙
Great review Alachia!
It's great to see you making videos again. I missed you
Happy Friday 😁
I like that Dakota Fanning from "Man on Fire" was brought back into another role with Washington. I wish the film would've invested more in a sort of long-lost-uncle relationship...
The first Equalizer movie is my favorite movie of all time for many reasons this third film was really great .. and thank you for your insight/review .. by the way not trying to be funny but you are really beautiful! 🤝
we're more than happy to have non superhero movies reviews also. anything non superhero related from the 1970's, 1980's & 1990's.
Like your highly studied and detailed reviews very much. You are also occasionally hilarious! Yes that village blew me away, I thought at the start it might have been CGI in the backgrounds. Nice place to retire for sure ... now that that crime problem has been eliminated /sarc.
I didn't know that Richardson is the DP. Thanks for the tip!
I loved it. Got to see a pre screening. It's far fetched but super fun. I think people need movies from time to time where it's a horror for the bad guys and just get what's coming for them. I'm not sure how to explain it.
This one did feel quite different from there first two, I think because in this one he didn't really fight as much, he was more of an angel of death 😅.
Your Dad is from a particular generation where these types of movies thrived. Many of the same actors of those movies are continuing to make these formula films.
I think I'll see this Sunday now that you've reviewed it positively.
Thanks for the honest review. And your dad’s perspective. I just saw it.
That’s all I need. 8/10 for me. A minus.
Nostalgia plays a big role in these types of movies with old action stars, they are the cinema equivalents of boomer shooters.
I may see this, this weekend; I really liked 1 & 2 was good too.
Saw it loved it all. Heard about it being slow, it didnt strike me that way.
Hope they "bow out gracefully" and make that Denzel's last Equalizer. Movie script was predictable from one scene to next.
NICE! Smith & Wesson
It was shot in naples? That's cool considering I'm visiting there tomorrow
Omg so lucky!!! I really want to visit Italy
@Alachia yeah I'm hoping that it will be a great one considering I've never been to Italy before. Interesting it's to one of the more authentic cities in italy instead of Rome or Milan
Alachia; I love ya!😘
It's a movie that's a throwback to the 90's of seeing badass dudes kick ass. We dont really get that from modern flicks w/out the agenda or politics thrown in. Guys like Denzel, Liam, Stallone, Cruise, Reeves, Vin Diesel, Jason Statham still provide that for us. Just fun turn your brain off action.
I know it's late, but please review Across the Spider-Verse.
I would like to know if it passed Queen Alachia's very high standards.
Never got too much into Equalizer. Only really watched them because Washington tops the list of one of my favourite actors ever, so I'll watch anything with him in it.
Good to hear it's still good though.
Not my favorite action hero movie but so far very consistent in terms of delivery. This one was less action but far more gory and violent when there was action
@Alachia Yeah, I will have to agree there 😆 Like my favourite movies of his are American Gangster and Training Day. He works much better playing more dramatic roles like that than the typical action movie star.
Would you like to see his son John David Washington as the younger version? It use to be the kind of film I would see when I was younger and I liked the 1st one. This one just got my attention cause they played as it was the last one, but I didn't enjoy much. I love the cinematography and Denzel still has those acting skills, but there wasn't much to this and it just feels like the villains are too easy for McCall.
It's never aibout the kill for McCall. The formula for this series is about setting up the need for him to kill. Yeah, in my video I said it would be cool if his son did a prequel film.
I want to see it
Perfect review. I took my Mum and she liked it too.
It's hard for me to digest *ANYONE* playing Robert McCall other than Edward Woodward. I guess I'm glad if young people can grasp on to a new version, but I was in my teens growing up watching the show, and I just can't handle the switch.
I was a teenager too when the show was on television and loved the show. I have noooooo problem with the switch. It's not really the same character. Let me put it to you this way. Don't try to superimpose Washington onto Woodward's original version. Take the title out of your brain and just experience THIS character. Don't allow your head to cheat you out of a super fun movie experience. Trust me. You won't be sorry.
I feel I should know the image on the wall...
My favorite fantasy artist is Boris Vallejo. 🙂
Did he ever did ... Maleficent?
A friend bought it for me for Christmas. I could never figure out who the artist was. I even did a google lens on it and nothing came up! It's Maleficent.
Really enjoyed the movie......kinda like a cross between The Godfather & Friday 13th.
Where can I get that shirt?
good question. I stole it from my husband. he's had it for years and years.
Please keep Review the movies and TV's because Your review very Cool 🆒🆒🆒🆒🆒
took me a while to put together my own review of 3 , thats cause i had to let it digest , that being said , i have put all 3 movies in order awesomeness ... #2 was the best , #1 was second and of course 3 came in last. For me the story was shaky and loose. All i remember is him sitting at a coffee table through most of the movie which was meant to be the basis for him falling in love with this country . Cause i guess if they showed him excited about bar-b-ques with his new friends he would look really sad , having no family, so they kept it to close to ones eye. Even the villains didnt impress me, especially the bad ass boss who cried and tried to run away. It started to look like a scene from scar face when the glass fell on his head, then he gets up and well you know what happens. I was hoping the bad guys were gonna head straight for the town and f--k it up, but no, they felt they needed to sleep on his brothers death and many of his mens deaths, as if he could even sleep knowing his brother was murdered and they knew who did it, but i was wrong .. always good to get a good nights sleep before you go on a murdering spree and destroy a town and the guy who killed your brother
Thanks for not being lame and super smart.
I don't think John David playing the younger McCall would be a good idea. They sound alike more than look alike and JD isn't even as tall as his dad, I don't believe.
John wick meet the Equalizer
It's Totally💯Worth It!
Twentieth!
i was expecting a bit more ,the first 2 were better, this one seemed too short. not enough Denzel action
Pacing was too slow for me kind of boring at times i think denzel is just too old for it now time to put the gun down 😂😂😂
The movie is so slow pacing.. it's horrible.
Antoine Fuqua probably got bored and just killed time until the paycheck.
If that was was supposed to be "slow food Italian life"...nope! Not that slow!
I have felt like the Equalizer franchise tends to meander a lot in the middle. They spend a lot of time showcasing the everday corruption and injustices. The film should have edited out 30 minutes and it would have been a more exciting film. I still love that he garrotted that dudes neck off.
@@Alachia I think you're right about editing something from it...but those minutes did a good job to establish the peaceful life of Altamonte...but still, the second half of the movie was... well, too slow, and the boss battle was diminished by that slow pace feeling.
Was it the weak 2nd installment that had the boring side-plot of Orson Bean trying to get back a family portrait? Yikes, that went nowhere...
Thumbs up for thumbnail trigger discipline.
I actually learned my trigger discipline from my viewers.
Someone younger like 50 ish...
That was a very strange movie, not much happening, still don't get the good person thing. I just liked the reunion of the cast of Man on fire here. Very forgettable movie
Replace the great Denzel Washington as Robert McCall lady your out of your mind
Just got back from seeing it. So garbage. Antoine Fuqua owes me 18 bucks.
The son is the answer.
John can tell the whole story. The beginning, the middle and the future.
Or don't use John to tell the story of the early years.
Have his son play his son in the movie trained by him.
If I got to watch Mr. Washington die in a movie. Then have him die saving his son. But don't make the son, John look weak & needy. DO NOT MAKE HIM THE HOLLWOOD SON IN TODAYS MOVIES. DISRESPECTFUL KNOW IT ALL & HARDHEADED. Put D. Washington in the no win situation. Where if he doesn't act they both will die. If he does act only he will die and the son will live. But have the son try to give his life for his father. But his dad was too fast & already saved the day and him. He knew he had to act fast (Dad). Sure he didn't want to die, but he knows his son. Would give his life to save his father and or someone else. Apple does'nt fall far from the tree.
I hate senior citizen action heroes as much as I hate petite women action heroes. Denzel is in normal shape for someone his age,but his character is someone who should take care of himself. He never goes for a run or even does yoga. Keanu and Tom are in great shape and do many of their own stunts. Harrison and Denzel need to sit down and drink some water afer walking up a flight of stairs.
Watch The Legend is Born- Ip Man. Scene with Ip Chun and you'll believe in senior citizen action heroes. He can kick anyone's ass. Muscle memory is a super power.
@@Alachia Hong Kong action stars are all basically stuntman so they get a pass.
You are a beautiful woman
I would rather every action movie was Ronin or Inception.
1) the movie studios aren't good
2) I'll take what I'm given if it avoids woke rubbish that is completely in conflict with reality.
3) this idiotic female CIA agent was harsh and heavy-handed and abrasive. Nobody who has ever been part of an organization, or who is dealing with a true badass would ever act this way. Every second of her appearance was truly grating, but we had to have the unrealistic empowered female.
Great video🥹❤️ You should do travel vlogs🌐🛵
One is coming soon actually
