I'm sitting here with a silly grin on my face feeling such joy for these animals. How welcoming they are to each other..... & cudos to the great people who are devoting their lives to care for these awesome beasts! 🥰
Looking at this now, our little Maggie has a spring in her step. I never saw her walk like that before. We did right letting her go. She's already happy. Yep, she had a spring in her step.
I love elephants and I also love the people who care for them, to give them the best life possible when nimrods take them out of their natural habit and then others have to deal with it. These people are wonderful, I admire them most and they are doing God's work by being the keepers and watchers over his creation. They have treasure in heaven, best kind to have.
I'm very happy that Maggie is happy. I keep up with the most current information I can from the PAWS website. I always felt sorry for her (and Annabelle at that) for being in our zoo - Anchorage Zoo. Although they were the main attraction, it was still sad to see them. Thank you Bob Barker and PAWS for loving the one living elephant that I grew up with. She seems so happy!
Pls join the campaign to move Lucy elephant from Edmonton Alberta VERY COLD CLIMATE who is alone in a tiny enclosure, no elephant friends for many years, to an elephant sanctuary in a warm climate so she can have some friends, too!
I don't know who you are, I just happened across your ch, but I wanted to THANK YOU for helping these wonderful animals. I wish there was someway I could help out. God Bless these Elephants and all the people who care for them.
This makes me so happy. It’s incredibly emotional and very satisfying to see these amazing beings free and interacting with each other without an audience clapping and cheering, eating popcorn while watching them perform inane tricks for their entertainment.
Thank you for giving sweet Maggie the opportunity to live her life out in a natural, wonderful environment with her new friends. Happy, happy girl. Thanks also for the excellent narrative.
Maggie had been living alone at the Alaska Zoo after her companion passed away. She was relocated to PAWS and had to be slowly introduced to the PAWS elephants, her new companions.
I love these precious creation and thankful that they have a sanctuary to live in. Don.t go to the circus, tell Barnum and Baily to let their animals go to a sanctuary
So awesome and beautiful... How great it must be to be around these magnificent beast everyday....I have not been to a sanctuary yet but I have been hoping I can one day.God bless your kind and caring hearts .
Maggie is smart, knew who the dominate female was, Ruby. She deferred to her, now all is well. Some one has to be a boss in a group, it's Ruby clearly. When my boss leaves for an appointment my boss's dog is the leader of the group! LOL Give me a snack or else...
Its heart warming to see Maggie get to join her group of like elephants. It is plain to see life is looking up for her and all elephants who are lucky enough to make it to PAWS. Let us not forget the unfortunate others who have not been allowed to join the group. To d smith and other gutless trolls: Your throwing of vague and non-descript anonymous mud paddies is meaningless and juvenile. If you have specific accusations to make against particular individuals regarding actual incidences, by all means speak your piece. Otherwise

@@PAWSWEB there is lonely African elephant Natural Bridge Zoo, near Lexington, Va. She is ALONE, NO STIMULATION, small enclosure, used FOR RIDES!! Her name is Asha. She has been in such conditions since a BABY!
With Ed's expertise on the care, knowledge, and understanding of elephants Limba, and Lucy will experience close to dying and going to heaven if they can be set free from their current accommodations, [ accommodate means to adapt, adjust ] notice I never said living as they are not living their lives to the fullest they are prisoners. Can someone answer a question I have what is the benefit for Lucy and Limba in there current accommodations?. My answer is simply routine they have never known what is truly a day in a life of an elephant, no mud holes, no lakes, no freedom to move or roam where they please, no exploration, no natural stimulation, no natural socialization with there peers, exposed to excruciating cold and confinement on cement is all they know. Give them the opportunity to live.
Mixing Asian and African elephants in the same enclosure was done at a couple of zoos, but since they are very different in their intensity levels, and roughness of play, and would never encounter each other in the wild, it is normally advised against.
Co-operative feeding? Is that like co-operative missing pathology reports? Or not doing pathology samples on elephants that die in your care? Those elephants are fat and the extra weight is very hard on joints.
This lady has utter devotion to them. A thousand likes from me.
And GOD created the elephants to view and enjoy NOT for people to abuse. GOD Bless Ya'll. 🙏👍👍

after all those years alone, how quickly she becomes a real elephant again. beautiful!
I had the humor of meeting Pat Derby many, many years ago at her first sanctuary in Galt CA. She was such an amazing lady…..
Maggie has a pep to her step...so cute

Quels magnifiques éléphants ! Merci de vous occuper d’eux avec tant d’amour ❤.
Loved listening to the care and intelligence that goes into caring for these poor damaged but still magnificent creatures.
thats awesome. i like how your easing them together. no rush, letting them get to know each other, get used to each other. you people are great.
The world is truly a better place with people like these. If we all act and live in kindness and awareness, we can move mountains. Thank you.
Would be wonderful if humans could be like this.🙏🐘🙏
Wonderful!!🫣♥️🥰
No matter what type of animals get integrated , when it goes well and they get along, my heart cheers!! 💕🙌🙏🏻😇💕
Maggie is adorable. I used to visit her at the Alaska Zoo. She actually used to wave at us, with her foot!

Hooray!’!!
I am doing what I can to raise awareness of Lucy's plight. Canada is just not a suitable environment for elephants. Free Lucy! ❤️🏴

I'm so happy for you Maggie!!!🤗😘🐘~♡
You have built such a fantastic place for your elephants!!!
Looking at an elephant from the side, their eyes look like the eyes of an old man. Very interesting creatures.
Watching these videos never gets old! Thanks for all you've done for these ele's, PAWS!
They have what appears to be a very nice place to live
What a story! Wow! and she is the sweetest and the smallest!! They all will love her to bits!..:-)

Amazing how you can read into all their behavior and understand it
What beautiful majestic animals. Just found this video. I pray all is well still❤
Just want to say Thank you so much 🐘❤🙏
Very informative. It help us understand the process through which the three newcomers from Toronto will find their place among their new family.
Maggie had been living alone at the Alaska Zoo after her companion passed away. She was relocated to PAWS and had to be slowly introduced to the PAWS elephants, her new companions.
0⁰OP⁰
how awful for her, they are just like us, actually better than us, so family orientated, bless them all.
Very touching and uplifting. Well done PAWS, you are great! :) xx

RIP Maggie.

I believe that Maggie is from the zoo in Anchorage, Alaska. So happy to see her outside.
Yes Barbara you are correct. (We just updated the video description with more information about her.)
I had to laugh at your description of Maggie's voice. It is wonderfully loud!
R.i.p pat derby a treasure to the animal kingdom. Hope you're gettin animal cuddles on the other side
I was wondering if she was still alive. I'm sure God himself met her at the pearly gates
Ganesh, remover of obstacles

Can you mix India & African elephant cows?

Can't hear good ?
Tell us how an Indian elephant might/not fit in with the African girls.............K..?
Wtf would you put volatile Ruby in with her if she’s a problem?? Honestly 🙄
One would think you would let them meet each other through the fence first
A lot of iron fances
Is Maggie the youngest of her group
Maggie was the same age as Mara and 71; Ruby and Lulu were both older. Lulu was the oldest of the five elephants.
Thank you for your reply

Stop trump jr big game hunting!
Seems a staged event.
has to be staged to protect the newcomer - in this case Maggie.

They know what they are doing, mr or ms know it all
