If the Herd can sense immediately an injury, can you imagine the trauma Bubi witnessed and went through. You could see that she wanted to ensure that Adine was ok, but held back from checking. Instead Bubi opted to stay near not moving from Adine's side. Poor dear Bubi the unforgettable memories etched in her head. She was very concerned. I so wanted to give Bubi a big hug of reassurance to let her know that all is well. 💝🐘💝
What another awesome video with the Herd elephants and Adine and also the carer with Adine to keep the elephants calm and under control. But if I may say, the elephants were quite concerned about their sweet, loving and very caring human mom Adine which I thought was so sweet. I also feel that they only were caring for her because she has cared for them in all the years they have been under her care and her raising most of them too.🥰❤️🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘 This is absolute unconditional love and compassion for each other. To see them so concerned for their human allomother brings tears to my heart. I can never accept that this herd would ever be split apart for release as they have all bonded together. Even from my screen I can see, hear and feel them as if I were there. Not even one of them should be parted. Fishan's bravery and will to live and his quiet love for Bubi. The babies protected by all & the interactions all the ellies display together just glues them together forever. None of them should ever have to experience heartbreak again. It's fascinating watching how Klaserie inspected, and, then processed, the scent from Adine's wound. I wonder what she was thinking. This video showed me just how motherly Tokwe really is. I could feel the love all the way from Africa! Speedy recovery Adine!
Indeed...that keen sense of smell + the awareness of what the smell of blood means in the bush. INCREDIBLE higher intelligence... They never cease to amaze me!
My cat also knows when I. Injured and comes to check me out. He (Shadow the cat) also seems to sense when I'm upset or in pain. He often will want to sit on me and rub his head on mine when I'm not feeling well. I am diagnosed with a number of health challenges such as Fibromyalgia (chronic pain), chronic fatigue syndrome and bipolar spectrum disorder (what was once called manic depression). I've named 3 but I have a list. Shadow seems to know almost as soon as my pain flares or when I'm a bit down. He will sit on my chest and purr away for a while. I don't understand why she is still so untrusting with as long as they have had her and as much time that they spend with them. I love elephants more every time I watch them. Such loving and caring animals. We should all be so lucky to be surrounded by them like Adine is every day. I’m sure she knows they love her and are worried about her injury. How beautiful is that and to be able to see them close every day. Just amazing to watch.

Dogs and cats would do the same. Elephants no doubt are more intelligent. But they all care for their human friends (even cats, at least many of them). Shows the social side of them.
@@Aurinkohirvi yeah they can probably smell the wound. My dogs do the same - I had a houseguest with a bandage on his leg and both my dogs couldn't stop licking the wounded area. It was quite gross actually lol but my friend didn't seem to mind.
I found their behavior interesting and insightful. I would have watched every second had it been 5 hours long. Their concern and curiosity is truly a mind blowing experience.
Adine puts her heart and soul into these elephants and would do anything for them and it’s amazing how much they know she does. They give the same love back to her and it’s so amazing to see. Elephants have always been my favorite animals. There so huge but the most gentle animal ever.

Timisa was beside herself that something was wrong. Klaserie is certainly the Doctor giving a good once over. Bubi was so unhappy with things not being right that she stayed close a long time, she really has such a good caring heart and it was so good of Tokwe to reassure Bubi with her trunk hug. 💖💞💖💞💞
I immediately thought, Tokwe sensed from a distance Bubi’s concern and hesitancy and as the Matriarch it was in her heart to come to Bubi and gently reassure her. What a great Matriarch!
Adine, elephants know energy of course. They are using technique of assessing injury and removing associated pain and discomfort. Maybe you could feel this. You even had an SI joint and thoracic spine assessment! Better than most human doctors can do! The Herd up close never ceases to amaze.
It's amazing how sensitive they are. I remember a while back when Adine's daughter had an injection (or had blood taken, I don't remember exactly) and the elephants reacted to her arm. And the way they sometimes touch/sniff Khanyisa's scar.
Timisa is such a beautiful little girl and loves it to be pampered. She has absolutely beautyful eyes! And she is a loving sister to Khanyisa. And I have learned a lot about lovely Bubi today! :) Those strolls in the bush make my day. Thanks for all the uploads and your work!

I think the little one's put their trunk in their mouth when they're uncertain/unsure about something - I noticed Sunshine do it right before she called out when she thought Mambo had left her alone. The only time I've seen older ellie's do it would have been in a moment of uncertainty. Its so cool that they show concern 4 Adine's injury - Timi seemed like she wanted 2 check but didn't want 2 cause more hurt 2 Adine's knee. - she's such a sweet sensitive girl. Its obvious that they all want 2 fix Adine's boo-boo leg : ) Personally I continue 2 learn so much from watching these wonderful giant soul's ...
I believe that what kept Bubi from. Aldine was Tigere. Then Tokwe sensing the slight tension in Adine & Tigere voices came over & put herself in the middle of Adine & Bubi. I understand perfectly the caution that Adine and Tigere feel for Bubi, but iwould have loved to see Bubi allowed to get closer to Adine. I myself as a tourist would be extremely aware of all the elephants, and particularly of limpopo (who can be in her curiosity and dominance aggressive), I think Bubi if allowed would have inspected Adine leg like the others. She was very aware of Tigere coming up in front and beside Adine and realized of all the ellies so far she was not going to get to be allowed near Adine. When they feel the babies are threatened, all of them have shown wild and aggressive behavior. Tigereand the carers are very protective of Adine as well as the elephants. Trauma is, when it occurs, is always in one's life. You learn to cope with it and keep it from controlling you. Bubi was definitely traumatized, and deserves the extremely tender attention she receives from Adine. If allowed and with supervision by like Tokwe or a carer , I hope she is allowed to be nearer to Adine. Bubi is well aware she is looked at the way she is, and it reinforces her trauma. She is blacklisted in a subtle sense,,and she is very aware of this.
Seeing Babi paralyzed with fear, unable to come closer or to step away, broke my heart. It was obvious to me she was transformed back into her traumatic past. So consumed with the memory she couldn’t even move to step. I am crying for her.
17:44 - Not a flinch from Tokwe when the carer reached out to pick a bug-a-boo off near her eye. Although she would’ve been taken from her mother at a young age and hand-raised, thereafter, she’s still a wild animal. That level of trust just shows you how well she and her herd are treated and cared for. My own dog wouldn’t have stood still like that, lol.
Poor Bubi. Whatever she witnessed and endured during her mother's murder has tremendously impacted her life and behavior as an elephant. I wish I could somehow take that pain from her.

Klaserie seems to be fascinated by the difference in feel and texture between the skin on your knee and your clothing. She moved her trunk back and forth between the two continually. Thank you for these fascinating, well-made videos showing the love between the staff and the elephants.
That is remarkable. Klasserie was seriously cupping the injury with her trunk. And poor Timissa seemed afraid/upset. As a young child would be when an allomother gets hurt. Even Bubi wanted to make sure you were ok, even though she still doesn't trust humans. She seemed very upset that you were hurt. And the other elephant putting their trunk in her mouth to help her, I assume. I know your ultimate goal is to return them to the wild, and I believe I saw it mentioned that you would have to sever the bond you have with them, but I wonder if that is even possible or even desirable. They love you.

It's fascinating watching how Klaserie inspected, and, then processed, the scent from Adine's wound. I wonder what she was thinking. This video showed me just how motherly Tokwe really is. I could feel the love all the way from Africa! Speedy recovery Adine!
So much fun - the elephants know that the smell can attract predators and they are familiar with the troubles of injuries. Their concern is genuine.

My cat also knows when I. Injured and comes to check me out. He (Shadow the cat) also seems to sense when I'm upset or in pain. He often will want to sit on me and rub his head on mine when I'm not feeling well. I am diagnosed with a number of health challenges such as Fibromyalgia (chronic pain), chronic fatigue syndrome and bipolar spectrum disorder (what was once called manic depression). I've named 3 but I have a list.
Shadow seems to know almost as soon as my pain flares or when I'm a bit down. He will sit on my chest and purr away for a while. He even goes hunting for mice and rats and brings them to me. My mum reckons that's because he thinks I am not very good at hunting.

Yes it breaks my heart! She wanted to investigate so bad and she just didn't. I feel so bad for her! I don't understand why she is still so untrusting with as long as they have had her and as much time that they spend with them. I hope and pray one day it will click in Bubi's head that the HERD people are there for her and love her with all their hearts! 🐘🐘🐘💖❤️💝

@@Aurinkohirvi yeah they can probably smell the wound. My dogs do the same - I had a houseguest with a bandage on his leg and both my dogs couldn't stop licking the wounded area. It was quite gross actually lol but my friend didn't seem to mind.

Adine puts her heart and soul into these elephants and would do anything for them and it’s amazing how much they know she does. They give the same love back to her and it’s so amazing to see. Elephants have always been my favorite animals. There so huge but the most gentle animal ever.

I immediately thought, Tokwe sensed from a distance Bubi’s concern and hesitancy and as the Matriarch it was in her heart to come to Bubi and gently reassure her. What a great Matriarch!

Adine, elephants know energy of course. They are using technique of assessing injury and removing associated pain and discomfort. Maybe you could feel this. You even had an SI joint and thoracic spine assessment! Better than most human doctors can do! The Herd up close never ceases to amaze.

It's amazing how sensitive they are. I remember a while back when Adine's daughter had an injection (or had blood taken, I don't remember exactly) and the elephants reacted to her arm. And the way they sometimes touch/sniff Khanyisa's scar.
Timisa is such a beautiful little girl and loves it to be pampered. She has absolutely beautyful eyes! And she is a loving sister to Khanyisa. And I have learned a lot about lovely Bubi today! :) Those strolls in the bush make my day. Thanks for all the uploads and your work!

I think the little one's put their trunk in their mouth when they're uncertain/unsure about something - I noticed Sunshine do it right before she called out when she thought Mambo had left her alone. The only time I've seen older ellie's do it would have been in a moment of uncertainty. Its so cool that they show concern 4 Adine's injury - Timi seemed like she wanted 2 check but didn't want 2 cause more hurt 2 Adine's knee. - she's such a sweet sensitive girl. Its obvious that they all want 2 fix Adine's boo-boo leg : )

I believe that what kept Bubi from. Aldine was Tigere. Then Tokwe sensing the slight tension in Adine & Tigere voices came over & put herself in the middle of Adine & Bubi. I understand perfectly the caution that Adine and Tigere feel for Bubi, but iwould have loved to see Bubi allowed to get closer to Adine. I myself as a tourist would be extremely aware of all the elephants, and particularly of limpopo (who can be in her curiosity and dominance aggressive), I think Bubi if allowed would have inspected Adine leg like the others. She was very aware of Tigere coming up in front and beside Adine and realized of all the ellies so far she was not going to get to be allowed near Adine. When they feel the babies are threatened, all of them have shown wild and aggressive behavior.
Tigereand the carers are very protective of Adine as well as the elephants.
Trauma is, when it occurs, is always in one's life. You learn to cope with it and keep it from controlling you. Bubi was definitely traumatized, and deserves the extremely tender attention she receives from Adine. If allowed and with supervision by like Tokwe or a carer , I hope she is allowed to be nearer to Adine. Bubi is well aware she is looked at the way she is, and it reinforces her trauma. She is blacklisted in a subtle sense,,and she is very aware of this.
It's truly amazing how much the elephants love & respect Adine.
Seeing Babi paralyzed with fear, unable to come closer or to step away, broke my heart. It was obvious to me she was transformed back into her traumatic past. So consumed with the memory she couldn’t even move to step. I am crying for her.
17:44 - Not a flinch from Tokwe when the carer reached out to pick a bug-a-boo off near her eye. Although she would’ve been taken from her mother at a young age and hand-raised, thereafter, she’s still a wild animal. That level of trust just shows you how well she and her herd are treated and cared for. My own dog wouldn’t have stood still like that, lol.

The smell of blood doubtless features prominently in their younger traumatic experiences. They want to make sure nothing like that happens to Adine.

Klasserie was seriously cupping the injury with her trunk. And poor Timissa seemed afraid/upset. As a young child would be when an allomother gets hurt. Even Bubi wanted to make sure you were ok, even though she still doesn't trust humans. She seemed very upset that you were hurt. And the other elephant putting their trunk in her mouth to help her, I assume.
I know your ultimate goal is to return them to the wild, and I believe I saw it mentioned that you would have to sever the bond you have with them, but I wonder if that is even possible or even desirable. They love you.
