That’s great!!!
That’s awesome!
Great instructions, 5:40 mystery feet appear and goes with the mystery jam 😆😆
Ha! Thanks!!
Good video I just ordered one via you’re link.
Awesome! It works great!!
Oh dude, thank you so much for making this video. You just saved me a few hundred bucks!
No problem! Thanks for the comment!!!
Great video just had to swap mine out. I used a magnetic gun holder to keep window propped up worked great!
Sounds like a good plan to do lol
Perfect,thanks bro
Not a problem!!
Dude!!! FUCK YEAH!!!! THANKS SO MUCH!
No problem! I’ve learned gm made window regulators that are pos…… I’ve had 3 break…….
Thank you for the clear and easy instructions. I was able to replace the regulator for under $100 in less than 30 minutes
Awesome glad to help!!!
Where did the piece of wood come from and why is the regulator positioned that way? Was that stock? I just took apart my door , left side-drivers, and my regulator is flipped when compared to yours. Thanks for video!
The piece of wood was to hold the window up while the regulator was ordered, that is the stock regulator and the regulators are flipped depending on the side you are looking at.
@@TheShopWorldWide Thanks! Great video. making this job easy. I was beginning to think i ordered wrong part. the broken unit in truck also has black cable sleeves. The dorman model i ordered doesnt but cant seem to find any part out there with cable sleeves like original. just trying to get my truck fixed before i head out of town sunday.
@@beachdweller3378 good luck! Hopefully it works out for you!!!
Thank you for the detailed video. I've had GMT 400s for over 20 years. These GMT 900s (07-13) trucks are trash compared to the GMT 400s. I wish I'd never sold mine. 😟
Yea these trucks always need something messed with or replaced. Thanks for the comment!!
The 99-06s are the last of the good ones. GMT800s. Fuel pumps, starters, & gauge clusters are all that ever break in these.
I used tape to hold up the window
I just can’t stand tape residue
Looking like a great video. I need the measurements for that board!!!!! Then I might just pass on the purchase of the new regulator...
Aggravating - Local Chevy dealer wants north of $200 for it (I told them I can hear the motor turning and heard a pop sound) So the $200 shouldn't be paying for a motor too. Web lookup I see Local / National Autoparts chain want's about $60 Geeze does GM Dealer take you for a ride on parts. I don't mind paying for the labor. Those guys went to school for something. But the markup on parts is WOW!!!
I wish I still had the measurement, I just pushed the window all the way up and measured and cut a board to fit. Making sure it was kinda tight so the window didn’t move while driving.
This is why I work on everything I own. I don’t want to pay the dealer prices on anything.
Good video thanks
My right one went about a year ago, now the left! Love it
After mine went out a second time I stopped using them.
Just finished, figured out that it’s easier to remove the regulator if the part that hold the window is down low.in other words it won’t come out if it’s near the top😂
@@petethehandyman9185 ha!!! Good job!!
Seems kinda slow going up. Like it’s slightly in a bind and working the electric motor hard. Or it’s a cheap China part. Idk?
Mine would bind and you can hear the cable cutting in to itself and then it broke. So it got replaced and was fine, I just didn’t want it to break again so I just didn’t use the rear windows after that
Great video , Can you please tell me where did you buy the right one, I need to buy one, thanks

I did exactly what you said but it didn’t work. I even tried the driver side window switch and that didn’t work either. I checked the fuse box which is number 60 I believe and there’s no blow out. What am I missing?
Did you try replacing the switch on that door? Sometimes if that switch doesn’t work nothing will.
Thanks for your reply. I’m gonna have to try that. Because I just came from the auto parts store with another part thinking the other one was defective and yet it still doesn’t work. Other than that what I’ve been missing anything else? By the way your video was very helpful, I knocked it out in 30 minutes.
For what it's worth...I bought a new Doorman brand left rear power window regulator at O'Riley's for $75 plus tax, and it was in stock. The Chevy dealer wanted $225 plus tax. I'm planning to disable the rear windows anyway, but for now they work fine.
Yea these regulators are a horrible design and they constantly break. I’ve replaced mine a handful of times and I just unplugged the switch and never use it.
Thanks brodie i owe u a beer. U saved me a dolla or two. I have a silveraydo and also found out i needed a new switch as well when i was fixin mine like u had to rig that panel back lol
I wouldn’t turn a beer down! Happy that helped you!
I literally did the same thing with that piece that broke off. I was able to screw it back on with two small screws… Excellent video by the way.
I appreciate the compliment! Yea I’ve done this replacement a few times, it’s just a horrible design…..
I do have one gripe about your video...but many others do the same thing. A 10mm bolt doesn't work with a 10mm socket or wrench. If you need to use a 10mm socket or wrench, just say that. I'd guess it's really an M8x1 or M8x1.25, from looking at my Starrett drill /tap chart. Yeah, I'm a retired machinist. An experience that you might find humorous, a co-worker and I were re-installing a refurbished cylinder head on a Fairbanks-Morse diesel engine in a tugboat. Each cylinder had it's own cylinder head. Each bolt was to be torqued to 1,600 ft. lbs. Two burly young guys, big 1" square drive Proto torque wrench, no problem? LOL Added aluminum pipe cheater about 4' long. Nope. Hooked a come-along to the railing and to the cheater pipe and cranked until the torque wrench said it was enough. OMG!
I can agree with people saying certain numbers/measurements and being technically wrong. I work in healthcare and hear wrong stuff all the time.
1600lbs is a lot. Lol. I could see that being a tricky thing to do, using all those methods together to get that amount of torque is sketchy. But I would do it…. Lol
Nobody cares!
As a mechanic if you need a 10mm you call it a ducking 10mm. Stay in your lane
Hi this was very helpful to me , thank you
Thanks! That’s what it was made for!!
This old lady loves you. Second time watching. Lol. Clear instructions breeze me through.
I try and make it easy enough to follow
How long was the piece of wood that was holding up the window???……
I can’t remember, i think it’s either 31” or 27”
Thanks for posting! Regulator snapped last week and found your video. Made the whole thing less daunting and saved me a few hundred bucks
Awesome! Thanks for the comment!!
Great video, great background music, thanks!
Lol always looking for good music!
