My how times have changed just to be annoying. But I do have to say I’m at the “GET OFF MY LAWN STAGE OF LIFE” I’m just happy if I can get in and out of the car. Lol
I wanted to keep it legal. Also without cats there is a better chance of setting of a check engine light. It can also be a bit raspy and the exhaust can smell worse.
I feel your pain with breaking stuff during installation. One time I installed 12” woofers in the trunk, and shattered the rear window. Painful & expensive.
Referenced this video to do my cat bypass install from 2M fabrications. That bottom bolt on the passenger side definitely was a bitch. Thanks for the video!
How in the world did you get the passenger side cat, lower nut off? I can't figure out a combination of sockets, extensions, etc to get any torque to break it loose. I'm in the middle of doing this and this is my last bolt.
It was a nightmare. I believe I finally got it with a wrench. Few cuts on the hands jammed them in there. It was slowwwww painful process. Little turns at a time.
@@N.O.S. thanks, I'm going to get an induction heater to try to make it easier to break loose. I'm sure I'll use it in the future. I found just simply cutting the two bolts on the driver side makes it easier to remove the cat versus prying it out. I cut the two top ones on the passenger side already in hopes it makes that side easier to pry out since I can't cut the lower one.
Do the cats, you won't regret it. I don't notice any smell, especially not inside the car. One person commented about smell I believe but I don't notice anything. Test pipes I'm sure you would. It's a whole new car now with the high flow cats and I enjoy it so much more now.

I'm not sure if they are legal in California but I would assume so. I would check with 2m fabrication. As for check engine lights, no issues at all! It comes with the o2 extension you need to make sure it doesn't set off a light and everything functions as it should. Zero complaints so far.
For me personally, it made me really love the car alot more now that it cracks aggressively between shifts and the burbles on deceleration around 3000-2500RPM in second gear is great.
@@N.O.S. that’s awesome! If you set your exhaust to its lowest setting does it quiet it down much? I have a C6 that I installed the SLP Loudmoutn Catback on and it’s obnoxiously loud all the time and the drone is terrible driving down the road. I’m thinking about adding these high flow cats to my new C8 but I hope it’s not super aggressive in all of the exhaust modes.
You don't have to no, but it helps keep the heat down in the engine bay and get it out of the exhaust. Also keeps the heat away from the sensors and electronics which will prolong their life.
Been debating these aswell, sounds like removing the rear exhaust might be the smoother way to do things? Removing the rear bumper is not bad at all can’t imagine the rear exhaust is difficult to remove. Would save headaches trying to reach those bolts and help make sure you tighten everything properly
Hard to say. Still have to do all the same things even if you pull the bumper. Would definitely make the lower passenger bolt easier and wouldnt have to pry the flex pipe back. You are correct, removal of the bumper isn't bad except for the one bolt way up inside the inner fender. One of the engineers totally unnecessary ideas 🤣

Definitely louder at idle in sport/track mode. Cold starts are obnoxiously fantastic. Power gain in minimal but it feels faster just because it sounds faster I think.
