Thank you for the fabulous, extremely helpful video. I am ready to order for my C8 as soon as I find an experienced installer I can trust. So far I have not found one I am comfortable with. Enjoy!
I can’t make Carlisle, but I do have a lead and recommendation for an installer in New Hampshire. Thanks for your help and I look forward to your AWE sound clips.
Ahhhh memories! LOL... I had mine installed last month, amazing setup! I had this on m C7 as well and knew I would have to have this on my C8... I'm not as daring to install myself, fortunately I had it installed for only 650, so not too bad... I do get a drone in the V4 mode, but it's not too bad..
Very good and good install price. I was quoted 1200-1500 for install. I wouldn’t call it drone, but it is an ugly sound when v4 kicks in. I drive in z mode to avoid that noise. Wish we could turn it off without cracking the ECU.
Thank you for the video. Only thing missing was the difference sound recording from the original sound you previously recorded. Other than that the video was great!!! Frank
@@JoesGarage-c8corvette Joe, no need to be sorry! You may want to do the comparison since you already have the original sound recording. I am on the fence as to which exhaust to upgrade mine.. Thanks, Frank
@@frankiebpr I’ll try. It’s really difficult to hear them as they truly sound. See if you can find someone at a car show or near you to give an in person listen.
I was told by a highly regarded vette tech at dealership that as long as you don’t mess with the cats or headers, you’re okay. It’s virtually impossible for an exhaust to cause a problem beyond the catalytic converters.
I bought the 2M Fabrication Performance Exhaust. Nice and throaty. You can still have a conversation while at Freeway speeds. I only had the regular stock exhaust so I don't have any bypass valves so I get the weird noise when in V4 mode. But I don't mind it. It took me several hours to install it. Not really hard, just time-consuming.
I love my AWE touring exhaust! I like you Florida License Plate. I did not think non-state offered plates were legal. Have you had any issue with LEOs?
@@JoesGarage-c8corvette Nice! So no issues so far...great to hear! Did you use someone locally? (I'm in Central Florida). I love your videos in fact I'm installing side skirts from EOL and the Soler performance throttle controller today. Your videos inspired me. Keep it up!
I noticed you changed up your diffuser fins. I am trying to figure out whether I want the paragon strakes which is what I think you had on initially or the overlay one you had on after AWE install. Which did you like better? I think the strakes look more aggressive but I don’t think they work with AWE. Where did you get the overlay diffuser? Thanks and you have some great content.
Great question. Video to come. I had the EOS fins. They were not as good as the paragon for ease of install at the mesh. I got the overlay via eBay. It is way easier to instal and have it look perfect. That said, I did have to modify it by dremel and sanding to accommodate the AWE exhaust. I’m glad I did. It is way better. It’s also abs black not carbon flash metallic, but it looks perfect. If and when you need to service the car to remove bottom panel or bumper, the overlay is way easier to take on and off. Cheers bud
Hey man quick question. Just grabbed one of these used today and I have new afm simulators, but some of the old install videos from years back show brackets that hold the afm sensors up by the transmission. Did they get rid of those? Mine didn’t come with them and it doesn’t look like you used them either
Absolutely thrilled. It appears to be settling in / breaking in. It gets better every time I drive it. I normally enjoy loud music in the car… lately low volume or no music so I can hear the exhaust. It’s intoxicating to listen to (in a great way). I looooooooove it.
The only negative is the AFM system from GM. I wish there was a way to turn it off when in the city and low speed, but it’s not bad. Manual mode or Z mode get rid of it. On highway its not noticeable. The exhaust itself is amazing IMO
@@JoesGarage-c8corvette So much for the No Drone Guarantee. I guess I'd rather have a moan than feel like I am driving a Prius. Thanks for your insight. Happy driving!
Yes. Touring has 180 technology to rid of any drone. Track is basically straight pipe. They are interchangeable of you decide to go from one to the other.
You really don’t need em. Except the AFM valves. I hate the afm system and wish it could be disconnected without having to send chip out to be cracked.
Heck yeah! Best exhausts out there!!
I love it. I really hate the afm crap though. It’s more noticeable, so I drive in ways to avoid it as much as possible. Lol
