330i in Sports Line package would be the most balanced combination
Great sensible review. I have to agree with you. Speaking from own experience, I am changing a higher spec F30 with more power and the ///M package to a “lower” G20 because I simply am tired of the harshness of the car for day to day use. I’ve only enjoyed the M suspension twice a year on mountain or country roads. For city driving, it’s a royal pain. Even busses go over speed bumps faster than you do. I’ll have to live with lesser quality plastics and smaller screens, but I think the car will satisfy me more for daily city driving. And this a BMW enthusiast speaking who has owned a 3 series of every generation except the very first one. Thanks for the video.
Good points, and fabulous choice. In any case, I found the 320i entirely acceptable even from a performance standpoint. Pulls quite enthusiastically even if not quite as relentless as the 330i.
How’s this suspension as compared to F30? Which is more pliant and superior?
hmm that round thingy at side of the door, is that the old school door lock thingy where u pull to unlock the door, and press to lock? why they put it at that position?

Hi Kon! Shopping for my first car for a daily. This, or the current gen A250? I’m someone young, and while I feel the 3 series can last me longer, theres just something young about the A class. Appreciate your thoughts? :)
Ermm.... I think the 3 Series is definitely the superior choice, but if you like the A-Class better, go for it. Nothing wrong with going for the A-Class now and then upsizing to the 3 Series at a later stage in life.
Now that the late 2021 models of the G20 320i come with full digital cluster (12.5") and iDrive 7 (10.25") just like the 330i, AND comes with Driving Assistant as well; there really isn't any reason to buy the 330i as a daily driver...the rims on this look much better than the M-Sport ones on the 330i too!
Test drove the 330i and yes it's fast but man it was super jittery around the old PJ state area roads and on highways it kept bouncing up and down; feels significantly worse in the back seats.

The only downfall of the 320i is the lack of fully digital instrument cluster with idrive 7. I don’t mind paying a bit more for that.
It's been recently updated with the fully digital instrument cluster 👍
lack of LSD option is worse..I would actually love to pay so I dont have the digital cockpit bs, its going to be pretty expensive to fix 15 years later.
Disclaimer: Kon is a person who prefers cars to come in uncle spec exterior, rim designs. He aspires for an M5 with the looks of a 520i. :)

I have not driven the latest update of the C 200, but if latest tech is your criteria, then the 320i has to be the better bet simply by being a good 5 years newer.

Kon, I agree with u 100% about the DRL. It just looks cheap. Should design BMW signature DRL in LED light of 3 series. Even the much cheaper X1 sDrive18i has the BMW signature DRL. 3 series owners deserve better.
I kinda like the DRL, I am a audi person (and Audi is the leader in DRL) a DRL must be distinctive and when somebody see the DRL from a distance they immediately knows what car is this that's an effective signature. If all DRL looks the same, then the car has no character to speak off
I totally agree with the lights, should offer the laser light for 330i M Sport at least .. It looks sad when spotting a G20 on the road .. AMAZING car nonetheless 💫💯

Sports model always has higher depreciation than base model, unfortunately.

Kon I agree with you on this, the 320i is definitely more appealing that the 330i. Sometimes the 330i is overrated. I will take the F30 335i over the G20 330i even though they have the same 400NM torque. Because SIX cylinders.

@@KonWaiLuen Well I'm used to stiff suspension since I own a 2013 Kia Forte SX. have you ever driven one? It has a stiff suspension due to sport suspension and 17 inch low profile tyre. The ride is absorbent but on the verge of crashy. I wonder how does the ride quality of 320i when compared to it. The ideal ride quality for me is like the civic's. Firm with a touch of suppleness. Drove the 2020 mazda 3 recently, has the same stiffness like my forte, just not as fidgety over sharp potholes but might need to do longer term driving for better assessment
How about the KIA Stinger 2.0 to compare? =)

Hew Zhen Chow Germans... when there’s a better option, must make the cheaper one look unappealing. Like the G20’s and F30’s passive M sport dampers, they’re stiff as heck. Want more comfort? Get the adaptive ones.

Seeing that the Passat lacks ADAS, but is bigger and more comfy... whereas the 320i has the better drive...
How does the interior build quality of the Passat compare to this?
Passat is better built for sure, rides more comfortably too, but I'll pick the 320i for its RWD balance.

I really hope not, if it did, then the 320i would likely be discontinued. The '20i should be the bare minimum spec for a car such as the G20 3er

The F30 is still a better day to day car, but this is at least liveable next to the 330i and doesnt pull half bad.

It is really the best in the segment, don’t understand why are people buying a C-class which is more expensive but was given an smaller rear passenger space than an Axia? Hahaha...🤣🤣🤣
Yeap, the back seats of the C class is horrendous. They made the seat shorter to make the back look roomier than it actually is. But this results in absolutely zero thigh support, unless you're a kid or you're a really short person.
s1gheart spot on bro, that’s exactly what I thought, the thigh support is horrible, it will be ok for anyone that’s shorter than 1.6m in height I believe, anyone above that will struggle for long journey.
Those rear accommodations of the G20 really blew me away. Fantastic space and overall support from the seats.
Kon Wai Luen yes Mr. Kon, I personally think BMW has been very sincere in upgrading their product, just look at the material used on the previous gen F30, it is very convincing for this G20.

320i, the W205 feels like shit compare to this, it's a 2014 car at the end of the day. Back seats of the C200 are super short with terrible thigh support unless you're a child or a midget, not as good head space due to the sloping roof line, by far worse ride comfort and handling. Interior wise probably just edges it depending on personal tastes. If you're looking to buy now get the 320i if in no rush wait for the W206 then only compare and decide.
