On my 991.1 downshift ping does a rev match which took a bit of time to get used to.

Really glad you got it sorted! From my understanding (explained by FCP Euro on their website), OE means it’s the exact same part as the Genuine Porsche part, but without the Porsche branding/labelling. So the car came originally with a Bosch MAF sensor. OEM means that the parts manufacturer makes other genuine parts for Porsche, but just not that specific part.

@@dashin96 I had a conversation with some certified techs and they have seen manufacturers parts sent directly to Porsche and installed at dealer work fine and the same part sent to customer can have an issue. Potentially the part may be the e same with inferior components like resistors or capacitors internally to save on cost to customers.
I have seen this happen in aviation.

@@Alberto1B I guess my point was that from your screenshot the Bosch was OE (should be the same part as genuine Porsche according to how fcp euro describes the OE label) and the Bremi was OEM (Bremi supplies some parts to Porsche as genuine Porsche parts, but not the MAF in particular). So given those two options, I’d always go OE over OEM and that may explain why the Bremi MAFs didn’t work quite right and the Bosch one did in the end.

@@dashin96 Gotcha, I did not think about that. I will definitely go with OE in the future. Thank you for helping me understand.

@@Alberto1B glad to help. if those labels are accurate, it’s a great feature that fcp euro provides, since you should technically be getting the exact same part as Porsche genuine for much much cheaper. I learned about fcp’s OE vs OEM distinction when I was hunting for engine mounts. VNE is labelled as OE, so I’m gonna buy those.

@@dashin96 i replaced my 14 yr old mounts with VNE and they are great. I actually just reinstalled the them and removed the function first mounts. I will talk about it in the next video.

Good to see smiles are back, and glad the car is fixed. Regarding the PDK, mine is always a clunky even though it’s the later model, car is a 991.1 Carrera S. It’s really hard to judge if it’s normal when you don’t have a few other cars to drive back to back. And my reference is having had a number of BMW with the 8HP gearbox, that is on a different level in smoothness. Especially the downshift are not that great, it just seems like the DME doesn’t quite get the rev match right.
Anyway good to see the car back, hope you keep it as a daily driver 👍

@@jrgenfalkbll4188 Thanks for the feedback. You are absolutely correct, it does not rev match perfectly like newer cars. I will talk about that a little bit in the next video. Thanks for watching

    Thanks Alberto
Been a fan of your videos for a long time, thank you for sharing.
Can’t wait to hear that one thing in the next video… Your symptoms with the PDK sounds just like mine (997.2 4S PDK from 2011). I’ve had the PDK oil changed, the PDK recalibrated, changed motor mounts and nothing changed.
Not installed yet, but waiting on the shelf, I have the Powerflex inserts and a new PDK gearbox mount bushing, both from ‘Design 911’.
I might install either one of these soon, but the car is still under Porsche Approved Warranty, so I’m holding back, as I do not want to do something, that voids that warranty.
Porsche service center says that the clunking, hesitation when downshifting is normal for my car. But like your observations, it feels unnatural, like something is fighting each other. It just don’t seem right. And its like every 10th shift down - the other 9 are perfect.
So, just to let you know - you’re not alone in this. And looking forward to that next video 😊
    Greetings from Denmark.

@@thomask5904 That is great info. Thank you. I agree if your car is still under Warranty, do not mess with it. A new bushing will be helpful. I would only install new bushing first and drive car for some time to break in before installing the insert.
