I absolutely love these 70s era Celicas; they look like mini muscle cars and clearly influenced by the Mustang and Camaro lines with the famous "Coke Bottle" beltline profile.
Back in the day it was common to see these with slotted mag wheels, pedestal spoilers and "Starsky and Hutch" side stripes!

I love that you managed to save something that had been sitting outside for a long time and making it run nice and smooth again back in the day when it was out and about. I also give credit to the one who filmed and edited the camera shots as they were perfect and well-timed. Nice to see a car I almost traded my Mustang in for. A fellow Navy buddy had one of the cars a 1973 which is almost identical to this one. I am into original, so not happy with the change of wheels or the added fender parts, but nice to see this car again and running. Sure brought back memories.

I just wanted to say how great this was to see, brought back lots of memories. My Dad used to own one back in 1977, it was blue with white stripes, white vinyl interior and white vinyl on the back 1/3 of the top. It was quite a car, he loved that stick shift.

Wow....this car brings back a memory of driving a new one in 1977. It belonged to a wonderful neighbor who had just lost her husband and also had a teenage son that had just suffered a massive brain injury as a quarterback on the HS football team. She had just purchased this new car from part of her settlement from her son's injury lawsuit to replace her old 65 chevy malibu. I was 16 years old and I was walking past her house when she stopped her gorgeous new green Celica. She was so excited to finally have a dependable car now so she can get back and forth to her injured son's nursing facility as he re-learns how to speak and walk again. She insisted that I take it for a test drive which surprised me since I was only 16, but I had my own car already so I guess she trusted me. I remember having to run the driver seat all of the way back because I'm tall and she was a small lady. I looked around inside at the dash and how well laid out it looked, also the 5 speed manual gearbox which was butter smooth to shift which made it fun and not a pain like American 3-4 on the floor manuals (just my opinion...). The car also handled so well and the ride was also smooth and quiet with great power breaks. It was August in our state of Arizona so she got A/C on this car. It was a pricey option at around $1100 if memory serves, But it worked really well with plenty of power to keep the little car cool inside. The only thing I didn't care for was how narrow the seats were for my actually narrow butt, but as I tossed the car around on the road through the desert foothills I remained firmly in the seat with no fear of sliding sideways like on my beach seat in my LTD. All in all this was a great car to experience and Mrs Jacobs liked it so much that she bought a new one every 2 years for a long time. Good memory and excellent video as always gentlemen!
