In e.g. Subsaharan Africa, they still do that - chewing sticks. At least in the villages, many still do. Neem trees (Azadirachta indica) are by now commonly grown, often springing up wild, in Subsaharan Africa.
I hate this modern world because of we are so stupid that we can’t understand so simple things, how much years we need to make ideal balance of technology and root cause holistic solutions for our health
Paleolithic man ate tubers, fruit, and a bunch of other carbs. Also Paleolithic most likely could not kill enough animal for everyday food and definitely did not eat it three times a day. Hunter gathers…. People forget the gather part.
I've been staying in a Kenyan village for 3 weeks. Beautiful straight white teeth is the norm here. However, their diet is extremely low protein. Their staple food is ugali, which is cornmeal. They also don't chew on anything except sugarcane sometimes.
As a kid I didn’t want braces. My teeth weren’t crooked and o did not have any cavities once I started eating what I liked to eat (I was a strange kid who started to make all my own food at 10-12 bc I didn’t like rice, pasta, bread, cereal and potatoes. I LOVED veggies beef and fresh fruit. But… I was a kid and therefore stupid, so four healthy teeth get pulled and braces were slapped on my face to deal with the ‘holes,’ caused by pulling those four teeth. Supposedly this was to allow me to keep my wisdom teeth, my teeth were way too big for my small mouth. After nearly three years of wearing braces (that I was only supposed to wear for 6-9 months) I pulled them off myself. I was fed up with metal in my mouth, shredding the insides of my cheeks. Not long after I developed an odd habit of ‘eating,’ my pencils. I don’t mean idly chewing I’m mean destroying 5-10 a day. I wanted to BITE hard all the time. Even my dentist noticed that my teeth seemed to be aligning better AFTER I ripped my braces out than before. To this day I don’t have cavities (44) but I’ve always wondered why my tongue was too big for my mouth? Now I know. I was a bottle baby and got my nose broken when I was young. I struggled to breath through my nose. Imagine all the money my father could have saved if he we knew about this.
Well, our ancestors also had horrible dental abrasion chewing their teeth far down to the dentin by 30 - if they even lived that long in the first place. You may want to check Dr. Louise Humphrey's (research leader at the London Natural History Museum) study of 15.000 year old sets of teeth showing that even back then human suffered from tooth decay. So yes, while they likely had "better" facial structures and more straight teeth than we do on average, the tooth health was worse. Just saying.
@@DetoxMorgellons They are not "infantile" - it all depends on the jaw alignment if they grind on each other or not. Also, wear is not argument pointing to a certain diet that is more human than another. After all we have teeth to be used.
Not everyone used miswak or toothpaste alternatives back then, it was definitely not the reason why they had no tooth decay. Tooth decay (and issues like tuberculosis or pain at birth) started with the new (american) stores selling sugar and other unhealthy food, as proven in Weston Price's book 'Nutrition and Physical Degeneration'. They also didn't eat bread with unnatural modified yeast and rye, which all contributes to why we need dentists at all - before these new foods arrived, dentists didn't exist, because they were not needed.

@@Witchmee Short term, yes. The root reason is because it forces you to cut out seed oils and processed foods which will obviously make you metabolically healthy. Long term carnivore will make you hypothyroid and insulin resistant. I've done a carnivore diet for 9 months.
@@wudafek8561 Your body gets used to such a low carb state that you can no longer process and handle carbohydrates including those made from gluconeogenesis. This is what started happening to Paul Saladino and I've seen it with other long term carnivores.
This video is so underrated, no doubt I'll subscribe
That background picture is amazing, outstanding work!
The editors of your videos are amazing in representing your speeches into images.
This is what I’ve been thinking!!! I’m so glad someone like Dr. Mike is talking about how looking back at the old and simple is just as important as looking forward at the new and future 😊👍🏼❤️✨
Native Americans had yellow teeth and did not practice any form of what we would consider dental care according to George Catlin, who lived with Native Americans for 7 years in the 1820s. They just ate meat and kept their mouths shut.
Native Americans is pretty wide range of cultures
Natural teeth aren't perfectly white
@@Gabiman66 yes I know. These were the Natives of the North American Plains. They were the ones with good teeth unlike the indigenous in Mexico who ate plant based.
@@psmtz thats still a wide range of cultures, which tribes
@@Gabiman66 not really. You should educate yourself on other ethnicities before you try to talk about them.
These new videos are great
Thank you Doctor Mike , ever since I and my son have started mewing our breathing problems have reduced and my sons dental health has improved a lot
Sugar normalized as a diet had it origins to the Rockefeller sugar industrial factory in America that have been manufacturing sugar from extracted poisonous plants.
Dr. Im fascinated by your research. Thank you
Thats the neat thing! Alot of the times they actually didnt have any dental hygiene whatsoever especially earlier on in the stone age. But in some populations there was grooves between the gaps of teeth and on them, which is evidence of toothpicks

Thank you doctor love you from Morocco 🇲🇦
awesome video...... if i had to tell someone about mewing i'd show them this video ^^ ......also i wanted to order dental sitcks years ago but they can be really hard to come by.....
Islam talked about this 1400 years ago and we are now discovering this
The editing is great. Awesome job
Im glad this wasn't some complete advertisement for the keto diet, Dr Mike, you approached this subject very well, not falling into the natural fallacy and incorporating modern science and nuanced approach to evidence with these already found solutions, NICE!
Thank you Mr. Mike Mew I loved the video on mewing and I hope to see more videos like this
Love this man, I am truly thankful.
He Is the goat
The Islamic prophet Muhammad(sh) recommended the miswak's use. He is quoted in various hadith extolling its virtues: "Were it not that I might over-burden the Believers I would have ordered them to use Siwak (Miswak) at the time of every Prayer"
Here in the USA pre 1900 they used licorice root in a similar way.
Salvadora Persica is also known as the mustard tree or mustard bush
Amazing information...you truly are blessed...i wish u great blessings in your endeavours
Mewing lover of heart
thank you, i love using licorice root sticks, neem sticks are bitter in comparison but are more firm so can get more plaque off
When you send this video to someone and they just give you the fluoride stare
In e.g. Subsaharan Africa, they still do that - chewing sticks. At least in the villages, many still do. Neem trees (Azadirachta indica) are by now commonly grown, often springing up wild, in Subsaharan Africa.
Thanks for everything Dr Mew
I hate this modern world because of we are so stupid that we can’t understand so simple things, how much years we need to make ideal balance of technology and root cause holistic solutions for our health
Well no actually it’s all idiocy by design… they do know.
Obligate hyper carnivore’s. As our species is classified. Along with all pre Homo sapien species up to 4.5 million years ago.
Love this video! Excellent format. High drama ❤
Keep smiling and stay curious ❤👍thank you so much! 🙏
Paleolithic man ate tubers, fruit, and a bunch of other carbs. Also Paleolithic most likely could not kill enough animal for everyday food and definitely did not eat it three times a day. Hunter gathers…. People forget the gather part.
11:38 such a great quote omg
thanks for the video! it really helped xoxo
The quality of this new vids is insane
Fascinating video!
In India..we still use neem tree's sticks in rural areas.
Weston A Price is the man.
On point w ur thumbnail
How do you clean your mouth Mike?
Good question
That was so interesting about the grave robbers!
Id like to add sharp canines are infantile and ground naturally to square shape
@@DetoxMorgellons They are not "infantile" - it all depends on the jaw alignment if they grind on each other or not. Also, wear is not argument pointing to a certain diet that is more human than another. After all we have teeth to be used.
@@AvidEric if the jaw alignment sits on top of eachother, which they should, pointy long canines will flatten. When did me and you mention human diet?
@@DetoxMorgellons If not for the diet, why bring up canines.
@@AvidEric seemed like u were taking about a specific diet. I’m talking about how u use the teeth not what u eat
from Iraq , thank you ❤
Not everyone used miswak or toothpaste alternatives back then, it was definitely not the reason why they had no tooth decay.
I am from India and our ancestor used to chew the twig of neem (margosa) tree though it was a nightmare for me as it was very bitter in taste but it gave numerous health benefits
Also in North India which one of the largest producer of sugarcane people used to chew it that's why in some part of India like UP Haryana people have very defined face
Sugar isnt the issue, the time spend on teeth without cleaning is! Carbohydrate = thyroid function = salvia production
Bruh, In India this practice of chewing sticks still holds true in rural areas, when I used to visit my grandpas house , he usually used neem and Tulsi chewing sticks, I thought how could that ever clean teath but damn was he right
your videos are so well made and clear. thank you for the informative videos Dr. Mew. Youre changing lives
As Muslims we learned how to use Meswak /Mesoaq to clean our teeth it’s natural and a lot better then using fluoride . I am advising everyone to use it .
No Sugar, No Processed Food, & No Chemicals.
I love you sir ❤
Gracias Alejandro por este dato que es así como lo expones y debemos considerarlo cuando nos pensiones.
I started using a miswak a year ago and never looked back. My dentist first couldn’t believe it but soon started using it, too.
Mew is here
Such an amazing video wow 😮
What makes face healthy and beautyfull.part 2
I'm literally watching this video and while using a miswak right now 😂
This video is so good
Resulullah aleyhiselam bu yöntemi kullanmış ve teşvik etmiştir onun bu harika alışkanlığı 1400 senedir devam ediyor❤
Actually, there are proves our ancestors had some dental problems we have even 40 thousands years ago despite of living 30 years on average. They had teeth lined up alright, but they definitely had cavities and even ancient dental works. Anthropologists know about that
