When the spirit tournament happened, all I used was Black Knight (major up defense, little up offense) and slow super armor. It’s super fun to watch people try to dash attack to stop my forward smash as Dedede.

Something to note about quad jump team: If you have the Maria Castlevania spirit and Ho-oh, you can have four jumps with a green type primary. No red primary with an additional jump exists to my knowledge sadly. Also, I've found this team to work exceptionally well with characters that have oppressive edgeguarding like Joker.
Jiggs my best spirit team is hades(final form) and 2 trade off spirits then use lucario you will start the battle off with 90% about half aura and f smash does 200 plus damage full charge

The DK spirit seems really good for countering all the annoying Mac/ Tank builds in general but gets easily countered by a hard hitting spirit. Runner style doesn't compensate for the tremendous weight loss and even the joke double crit build I made with Hero was enough to 3 shot this. Still really fun though.

I just found a new combinations. Hades (final form paired with majoras mask and victims. You may start with 60 percent but the damage this combination does is my god scary
Black Knight and the Halberd. Will never die in one hit, not even to Chrom or Roy's flare blade. Due to modifiers from the double heavy knight attribute give you I think the highest possible attack and unquestionably the highest defense possible out doing even the absolutely safe capsule even with a type disadvantage. Though you are slower characters like Bowser are insane because they die to doriya at like 150 from the ledge
Just to be sure if you wanted to improve these, secondary spirits don’t stack so try and mix in as many similar spirits. Especially if you want a fast speed spirit
My best build for now is: The black knight + Halberd on bowser with tank style Its a very good build that doesnt have a full counter cause it covers all spirit MU's evenly. Gave it a try and only took 2.5% from a countered up-smash when my f-smash does 40%. (Also tuff-guy makes it so you dont need super-armor)
I also use this with Bowser but just as a variation of my Black Knight (also Tank Style) + Polar Bear (Slow Super Armor), which I find most of the time is kind of a god mode.
It is the best Spirit build in the game, nothing. And I mean nothing can beat it, you can destroy other spirits while they can barely chip you. Even the most offence you can get will still do around 12 with a smash attack.
A combination that work best for duel and with heavies: Primary spirit: Hades, demon style Support:Spirits like Majora's mask giving you 30% but raising all of your stats. You start at 90% but you are a beast. I believe it's actually stronger than Akuma. Another good combination is the dark knight with Halberd. It raises so well your defence and attack
I feel like the Sirius and Samurai Goroh builds would be better with a Majora's Mask support replacing any of the support slots. I noticed that the bonuses to your attack and speed get "stale" if they are given by the same spirit. For example, a Weapon Attack support gives you a 1.1x attack multiplier. However, if you equip a second Weapon Attack support spirit, the multiplier from that Spirit is lower. Bonuses don't stale if they come from different spirits. For example, you can have Sirius' Weapon Attack ability, paired with a Weapon Attack support, and an Azura support, and each of them will grant a 1.1x bonus, for a stacked of 1.331x bonus. Majora's Mask gives you some crazy Attack AND Defense bonuses, as well as a pretty nice speed bonus. I think the Attack multiplier is like 1.18x, the Defense multiplier is like 1.2x, and the speed bonus is better than the one granted by Goroh's ability and Azura's bonus (but not as good as Speed supports). Personally, I use Majora's Mask in all of my builds, because it's so good. I also noticed that the highest AttackxDefense bonus can be achieved with Black Knight + Majora's Mask + Speed Support. Your opponents end up dealing significantly less damage than what you deal to them, and you also end up moving faster than a Spiritless character (Majora's Mask+Speed support completely offset Armor Knight's slowdown).
in the world of light u feel like a god, so powerful and fluid and everything is even more op there cuz u already have boosts and powerups in the skill tree that you don't even (have to) put in your spirits
Tip with the quad jump one: Use it in world of light and go to the spirit tree and get the additional mid air jump. You will need a lot of skill spheres though.
I think the best counterplay to the grappler spirit team is 3x "improved escape" support spirits, which will significantly reduce the time you can be grabbed or stunned for, which should also help shieldbreak time or bury/grab escape time
i messed up in the video and said that attacking type makes you stronger, which isnt true. the types work like rock paper scissors, so attack beats grab, grab beats defense, and defense beats attack. you will get advantages if you have the better match up.
6:00 This is untrue because if you can have a 3 slot primary with an ability so you can have 4 abilities with many different combinations. Medusa, for example, is a primary spirit that makes you giant and has 2 slots. you can then equip a support spirit (like slippy toad) which takes one slot and then the other slot can be weapon attack up or whatever it is you want. Then you get the same result. You can also use a primary spirit with weapon attack up and 3 slots and use giant and metal support spirits to get the same result.
Sorry this is outdated, but for 1:51, you can also use this: Primary: Shaymin (lightweight/gravity style) Support skills: Instadrop, lightweight This is better than the team showcased in the video
I’ve got a game breaker: Dr. Eggman as primary, Hothead, and Zapfish as supports. Play as Dr. Mario. Simply hit the Hothead with your electric neutral smash and watch the fireworks. It insta kills the vast majority of enemies and even kills super armor enemies in under 5 hits. It’s insane.
Honestly, really cool video! I learned a lot of combinations i previously didnt know before! Something I saw is their type, which means they all can be countered one way or another. Which is why I call one of my spirit teams "Friend Remover" because it has only one counter and has over 18k power if used with the right character (16k if used with any other) The first thing to do is to get Dracula (only obtained in WOL as a boss), and level him up to 99, enhance, then level him up to 99. Once you've done that, get 3 shine sprites, equip them all, and go Richter. Because his main meta gane is stalling out opponents with projectiles, you can spam them, and since its the highest power in the game possible, they cant really do much even if they do hit you. It counters both the most broken and the heal stall tactic because with the cargo grab, you need to not only get in on the opponent, but also grab them, but since you're lightweight, richter will of just killed you before you land a grab. With the heal stall tactic, you have to land eventually, and since richter's projectiles cover a massive area, you'd be taking more damage than you could heal, assuming you can even land. The only thing that beats this is no slow SA and high move speed (dojo). The reason why richter is so good with the spirit is because he constantly get high chip damage and kills early while constantly pushing you away. If you have a character that can combo to super high percents, such as peach, ganondorf with speed, falcon, greninja, etc, you can kill richter faster, combo him easier, and in all get in his face more. DO NOT GO A CHARACTER THAT COMBOS WITH PROJECTILES, such as yink. Their projectiles will clink and even be beaten out by richters.
Lucas with Taboo(Tank Style) and Gold Mario is fun, makes most of the spirit battles a joke, even on harder difficulties. Lucas has a ton of gimmick moves, like an absorb, a reflector, a multihit down smash that melts through other super armor spirits, a strong up smash that's relatively safe due to the super armor, and PK Freeze and Thunder. It's not really super strong, but the combination of constant super armor, lots of fancy moves, a colorless main spirit that boosts PSI and only a minimal reduction to movement speed makes it pretty versatile.
Cloud is a little broken with the set; Sirius And 3 special up Spam side b It’s that broken but since side b is a multi hit spammable move, it can rank up damage extremely quickly
I know this video is over a year old, but my favorite spirit combo is Steve + Claude from Byleth's DLC board. Claude not only boosts Steve's speed, but also powers up all his weapons making him an even more oppressive character.
Highest jump spirit set: Primary: Ray MK III - Gravity Style Secondary 1: Lightweight Secondary 2: Jump Up Secondary 3: Jump Up Highest speed spirit set: Primary: Starfy - Runner Style / Ninja Style Support 1: Undamaged Speed Support 2: Undamaged Speed Support 3: Trade Off Speed To get this to work you need to heal at least 30%.
correction, though im not sure this was known at the time: a lot of these are not optimal because they stack the same bonuses. spirits give a signifigantly smaller bonus when stacked. i dont know the exact numbers but say a spirit adds a value of 10 to something, then if you add another of the same bonus, then the new one will only add 5, totalling 15. this means that for some builds, like max jump, its more optimal to have lightweight, for example, as one of them instead of jump
The first one would be super good with kirby, with him already having 5 total jumps, adding 2 more would not only be good for ladder combos, but for recovery as well
Honestly, it is kinda cool to see that Metal Face does technically have 4 Support Slots, but K.K. Slider & Baby Mario (Superstar Mario) have 5. Running Start skill combined with 3 slots for K.K. Slider, and First-Strike Advantage with another 3. Yeah.
For truly broken power, go with any spirit with high attack stat and three slots (I prefer Tabuu). You'll want a windfish for the giant boost, and victini for the damages. This makes it a berserk rush as you lose most of your strength after the giant wears off, but you just deal so much damage. A revenge boosted Clothesline (perfect timing Side B) from Incineroar is a near guaranteed death sentence.

You forgot to mention you went to activities for the infinite recovery because it can really go that high at base.

Summon mr Saturn, absolutely safe Capsule will appear. Then you have to release one defense spirit and six support spirits if I remember right.

I think the best counterplay to the grappler spirit team is 3x "improved escape" support spirits, which will significantly reduce the time you can be grabbed or stunned for, which should also help shieldbreak time or bury/grab escape time

i messed up in the video and said that attacking type makes you stronger, which isnt true. the types work like rock paper scissors, so attack beats grab, grab beats defense, and defense beats attack. you will get advantages if you have the better match up.
6:00 This is untrue because if you can have a 3 slot primary with an ability so you can have 4 abilities with many different combinations. Medusa, for example, is a primary spirit that makes you giant and has 2 slots. you can then equip a support spirit (like slippy toad) which takes one slot and then the other slot can be weapon attack up or whatever it is you want. Then you get the same result. You can also use a primary spirit with weapon attack up and 3 slots and use giant and metal support spirits to get the same result.

I’ve got a game breaker: Dr. Eggman as primary, Hothead, and Zapfish as supports. Play as Dr. Mario. Simply hit the Hothead with your electric neutral smash and watch the fireworks. It insta kills the vast majority of enemies and even kills super armor enemies in under 5 hits. It’s insane.

Honestly, really cool video! I learned a lot of combinations i previously didnt know before! Something I saw is their type, which means they all can be countered one way or another. Which is why I call one of my spirit teams "Friend Remover" because it has only one counter and has over 18k power if used with the right character (16k if used with any other)
The first thing to do is to get Dracula (only obtained in WOL as a boss), and level him up to 99, enhance, then level him up to 99. Once you've done that, get 3 shine sprites, equip them all, and go Richter. Because his main meta gane is stalling out opponents with projectiles, you can spam them, and since its the highest power in the game possible, they cant really do much even if they do hit you. It counters both the most broken and the heal stall tactic because with the cargo grab, you need to not only get in on the opponent, but also grab them, but since you're lightweight, richter will of just killed you before you land a grab. With the heal stall tactic, you have to land eventually, and since richter's projectiles cover a massive area, you'd be taking more damage than you could heal, assuming you can even land.
The only thing that beats this is no slow SA and high move speed (dojo). The reason why richter is so good with the spirit is because he constantly get high chip damage and kills early while constantly pushing you away. If you have a character that can combo to super high percents, such as peach, ganondorf with speed, falcon, greninja, etc, you can kill richter faster, combo him easier, and in all get in his face more. DO NOT GO A CHARACTER THAT COMBOS WITH PROJECTILES, such as yink. Their projectiles will clink and even be beaten out by richters.
Dude! The Ganondorf build with Metal Face helped me *finally* get the Articuno/Zapdos/Moltres spirit! Fuck yeah!

Lucas with Taboo(Tank Style) and Gold Mario is fun, makes most of the spirit battles a joke, even on harder difficulties.
Lucas has a ton of gimmick moves, like an absorb, a reflector, a multihit down smash that melts through other super armor spirits, a strong up smash that's relatively safe due to the super armor, and PK Freeze and Thunder.
It's not really super strong, but the combination of constant super armor, lots of fancy moves, a colorless main spirit that boosts PSI and only a minimal reduction to movement speed makes it pretty versatile.

I know this video is over a year old, but my favorite spirit combo is Steve + Claude from Byleth's DLC board. Claude not only boosts Steve's speed, but also powers up all his weapons making him an even more oppressive character.
Highest jump spirit set:
Primary: Ray MK III - Gravity Style
Secondary 1: Lightweight
Secondary 2: Jump Up
Secondary 3: Jump Up
Highest speed spirit set:
Primary: Starfy - Runner Style / Ninja Style
Support 1: Undamaged Speed
Support 2: Undamaged Speed
Support 3: Trade Off Speed
To get this to work you need to heal at least 30%.

correction, though im not sure this was known at the time: a lot of these are not optimal because they stack the same bonuses. spirits give a signifigantly smaller bonus when stacked. i dont know the exact numbers but say a spirit adds a value of 10 to something, then if you add another of the same bonus, then the new one will only add 5, totalling 15. this means that for some builds, like max jump, its more optimal to have lightweight, for example, as one of them instead of jump

Honestly, it is kinda cool to see that Metal Face does technically have 4 Support Slots, but K.K. Slider & Baby Mario (Superstar Mario) have 5. Running Start skill combined with 3 slots for K.K. Slider, and First-Strike Advantage with another 3. Yeah.

For truly broken power, go with any spirit with high attack stat and three slots (I prefer Tabuu). You'll want a windfish for the giant boost, and victini for the damages. This makes it a berserk rush as you lose most of your strength after the giant wears off, but you just deal so much damage. A revenge boosted Clothesline (perfect timing Side B) from Incineroar is a near guaranteed death sentence.

A good alternative for Spring Man would be Giga Mac because Giga Mac is actually better for Little mac and he is also a legendary
