Aight, this is for the Lore Olympus fans. Persephone was a teenager when she was kidnapped. She was forced to eat the pomegranate seeds. The abduction of Persephone was never met to be a love story, it was a story about a mother’s grief at loosing her daughter. It represented what any mother could’ve gone through in Ancient Greece, since kidnapping brides was common practice. So no, this isn’t the, “healthiest couple in Greek myth”. And I’m tired of people saying it is
There is actually a good argument that "Dread Persophene" always was the true Queen of the Underworld. In a "don't speak her name, or your draw attention" kinda of way. And Hades is a later invention. So this whole marriage might be mostly about explaining spring, with a side dish of explaining all the old myths where only Persephone was mentioned as being in the Underworld.
Historically there is evidence that this myth originated in Sicily where when the first version is referenced a typical marriage goes about how the myth does. The husband to be gets the fathers permission and then elopes with the bride before coming home and living as a married couple, this can also be seen in spartan marriage ceremonies for regular people.
There someone so dumb for commenting that Persephone has Stockholm syndrome. 🙄🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ I swear, it like Belle from, Beauty and the Beast’s again. 🤦 First of all, she never got abused from Hades to made her fall in love at him. She really upset getting kidnapped, but after exploring in the Underworld, she grew comfortable and enjoyed spending time with Hades, which both got to know each other more, which made her fall in love with him.
I don't think any of the stories were Persephone accepted the proposal were actually the mythology, but people wanted to sanitize the story a little. Not sure, though.
"Hades and Persephone, The Greatest Love Story of All Time" Me : *starts happily wiggling around when hearing their names* "Atleast according to Lore Olympus fans" Me : *stops because I am one* 😶😐
In my school they taught it like this: Cora ( Persephone as they taught us ) picked up a yellow flower and caused some innacuracies in the world. Then Hades appeared and kidnapped her. Cora's mom looked for her and found her with Hades and then Hades gave Persephone's mom a pomegranate seed to symbolize that Cora is his and she was later forced to marry Hades with Zeus knowing nothing bout it
Which, in some versions of this story, this union is why there are seasons to begin with. When Persephone is with Demeter, Demeter is happy, and tends to her duties readily, and this act results in Spring and Summer. However, when Persephone is with Hades, Demeter is sad and downtrodden, and thus neglects her duties, and as a result, Fall and Winter occur.

Ok but why were we called out like that tho- 😀
Hades and Zeus conversation be like: "Hey Zeus van I marry my niece who is centuries apon centuries years younger then me? "
"Sure"
"Thanks bro"
There are also versions where Zeus is the one who does the kidnapping
Thank you
It kinda gets cut off but this is the mythological reason as to why crops don't grow in autumn and winter
Love the artistic depictions
At least according to lore Olympus fan, I feel really called out
Nice animation.
When your most wholesome relationship in Ye lore involved incest and abduction
Well Greek mythology in general is just one big incest parade if you think about it.
That was considered normal in Greek mythology so meh
In some versions Aphrodite and Cupid shot Hades with an arrow to make sure Persephone doesn’t become a virgin goddess like the other three virgin goddesses
No, that's not why, Cupid shot Plutus with an arrow to mess with him. And it wasn't to make sure that Coura wouldn't be a virgin goddes. Also there's only one writing of this specific version and it's roman
I... actually admire that despite having to spend a majority of the time in the Underworld with Hades, at least Persephone STILL has a chance to visit with her mother without any conflict.
Fun fact: persephone goes by two names
When she’s not in the underworld she goes by kore, which means young maiden
In the underworld she’s persephone wich means bringer of death or destruction
The most equal marriage in Greek mythology, which ain't saying much, but it's at least palatable to modern interpretation, unlike Zeus and Hera.
It really is the greatest love story, right up there with Eros and Psyche.
Kinda like my situation with my parents! Wow! What a coincidence!
ok but lore olympus is the most addictive thing to read
Greatest incest story of all time too 😂 Persephone’s mother was Hades and Zeus’s sister.
Hades during Spring and Summer
Hades: ALL THE SINGLE HADES
Hades: ALL THE SINGLE HADES
Hades: ALL THE SINGLE HADES
Hades: ALL THE SINGLE HADES
Hades: NOW PUT YOUR HANDS UP
Hades: * Runs around the fields of punishment with hands up, making weird noises*
Damned souls: So this is our eternal punishment?
Hades looking fine here
Aight, this is for the Lore Olympus fans. And I’m tired of people saying it is
he forgor to mention how hades is persephones uncle
It's Greek mythology, everyone's related.

There is actually a good argument that "Dread Persophene" always was the true Queen of the Underworld. In a "don't speak her name, or your draw attention" kinda of way. And Hades is a later invention.
So this whole marriage might be mostly about explaining spring, with a side dish of explaining all the old myths where only Persephone was mentioned as being in the Underworld.
one of the most moral gods in greek mythology is often portrayed as literal satan
In every version it's always "This is totally Zeus’s fault." 😂
There someone so dumb for commenting that Persephone has Stockholm syndrome. 🙄🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ I swear, it like Belle from, Beauty and the Beast’s again. 🤦
First of all, she never got abused from Hades to made her fall in love at him.
Whilst Zeus cheated on his wife Hera numerous amounts of times hades was just a dude who loved his wife and dog
No. He cheated on her in canon.
The best part about this is that in the full version no matter what version, its all zeus' fault
Hades is the best god. Man is loyal and willing to compromise
More functional than literally any relationship Apollo (or Zeus) has had.
Demytr really sounds a lot like Freya. Neglecting poor big ol’ Chaurli even though he let her use him as a house. Unforgivable.
Aladdin family
Most of the other myths involving hades and persephone does show that they actually love each other though. No cheating, sharing equal power, etc.
We don’t talk about the lore Olympus fans 💀
Girl has never felt the cold
I appreciate the lore olympus joke.
"Hades and Persephone, The Greatest Love Story of All Time"
Me : *starts happily wiggling around when hearing their names*
"Atleast according to Lore Olympus fans"
Me : *stops because I am one* 😶😐
In my school they taught it like this: Cora ( Persephone as they taught us ) picked up a yellow flower and caused some innacuracies in the world. Then Hades appeared and kidnapped her. Cora's mom looked for her and found her with Hades and then Hades gave Persephone's mom a pomegranate seed to symbolize that Cora is his and she was later forced to marry Hades with Zeus knowing nothing bout it
That is incredibly wrong in so many ways, it humerus
Lore Olympus fans, where you at?
Right here
look at it like this, at least we have spring and summer.
Zeus and Hades are brother, and Persephone?
I guess you gotta keep it in the family
For greek gods? Absolutely, most mythologies for that matter
