I am pretty sure the grease is not 20 wt gold, but they put a metric fckton of slick kick grease in there PLUS some 20 wt gold, which then mixes with the grease. Had that in 2 38 air springs and a 36 air spring to varying extents. Also according to some the negative air chamber of the 38, which is a 'bit' difficult to access, is also full of grease sometimes ... Makes sense from a production aspect I guess. Just put lots, then it will automatically spread out, you won't run the risk of adding too little and all the normies never servicing their ewbs will have enough grease in there for 5 yrs of riding or so...
Hmm. Yeah suppose it doesn’t look like much, however having rode one for the last 18 months, it’s a night and day difference. Acts completely unlike a standard reduction token. Have to run way more pressure mind. I’m running 20% more on a Z1, 78psi with a token too, at 72kg for reference. Would recommend.. Bang for buck for sure
Additional information i got btw : The new damper uses 4WT oil but appearently you can also use 5WT PTFE oil to service the dampers going by a video from "The Lost Co."
There ya go now yanhave a Fit4 damper! Grip X is the fit4 replacement but that's what the fit4 is like just has a wee lever for the 3 pos switch they simplified the design this time to a Grip2 type top! I remember you saying before on the oher 38s video you never seen a fit4 before lol
You gonna take out the tokens? I find the 38 can get surprisingly linear when it’s at 1 or no tokens… bottoming out becomes an issue. Albeit different air spring
@@OtterMTBtech Steve at vorsprung does a good video explaining it. Basically the traditional air springs build up too much pressure in the lower legs causing the ramp up. I imagine this issue only gets worse in big 38mm stanchion forks. The 38 sleeve style alleviates this somehow.
I watched that video a couple times to warp my head around it. Long travel makes it’s worse too. As I’m usually taken less on 180 forks, but dual crown forks don’t do this.
Motorrex makes Foxes oil. Hints why it’s good. I put Mototrex in Suntour and DVO 38 dampers and it was day and night better. Not sure if it fully compatible, but next service I do on a old Fox fork is getting the pink Mototrex, instead of the teflon fluid
Great content! But pls invest in some basic tools. Star nut tool, tube cutter, file. The star nut was clearly tilted. Also, every fork needs a break in. You cant expect full performance on the first ride. Give it atleast 3 decent rides.
@@OtterMTBtech So far it's pretty awesome. As good or better than my last gen Fox 38 and I am actually using the high and low speed compression instead of running it full open like I did in the past. I also picked up a new Bomber air shock for $250 on Jenson because it was half off and tested in on my levo against my Push 11-6. I have to say, it's quite good. Especially for that price.
@@OtterMTBtech yes, 20wt doesn’t do that in my experience, neither has any oil. The air shaft pretty much always comes over greased and not enough fluid in the fork, so it’s nice to open it up and clean some of it off/ re distribute the slick honey and put in the recommended oil volumes.
So what did marzocchi bring to the table other than the chassis? From what i understood every piece of hardware is fox. Its like admiting all fox tech is superior.

As an Englishman i can confirm, our waterproof stuff is 10/10. everything else is made out of chocolate
Cheers mate. I’m mostly referring to cars, but you know there is some good stuff from hope.
Scraping the steerer tube on the floor made my day
Pure dreams
Sam pilgrim style😅
I also prefer the abrasive sanding surface of my shop floor to debur my steer tube! Brilliant!
Pure dreams
Surprised you don't have wayyy more subs. Keep up the great content! Very funny commentary lol
Thanks. TH-cam is hard game.

Aww ya that much grease over the negative dimple. Now it makes sense thanks. The grease was all the way down the inner stanchions
Bro! Keep up the great videos! Very informative! Get the new MRP Ribbon for review.
Have you seen Trutune? Great results tuning progressive forks 👌
I have it’s alittle pricey for a token

It’s the polar opposite of the 38. A little surprised.

@@OtterMTBtech video idea - fox 40 for the Levo 😏
I have a Kenevo it’s a crown race away from the swap, and $1500
So, the best option for service oil for a fox 38 grip2 Motorex 2.5 wt!

Thanks I’ll try that.
Does this fork use the same large upper bushings as the 38, without the oil channels?
I’m guessing the same, the new bushings are black
Is the fox fork in matte color or am i trippin?
It’s photo shop it’s gloss black
Can you compare the axle to crown to the 38? Cant find those numbers anywhere.
38 23 1/4 super z 23 1/2 inch. Super z 1/4 inch longer
Can you buy the gripx damper for a fork upgrade yet, or are they only in the new forks at this stage?
No dampers for sale in checked everywhere
Whats your favorite travel on kenevo 29er?
170 fork. 230x60 shock in low flip chip. Competes or out competes any bike on market 5 years later
Was your ride footage from Gateway Green ?
😎
I just bought this fork. Can’t wait to try it out
Curious about how it goes.

It is a bummer that forks don't come from the factory better assembled given the cost... But it is what it is.
Rockshox is worse
Hi! That’s grease on the air shaft, (slick honey) not petrified 20wt.
Are you sure? The fork was made months ago and sits in there for so long?

The arch is an M that's cool
Oh yeah lookathat?! 😂 It's been awhile...
I still think the old CNC arch like I had on my 99 z1 dropoff were the coolest 😎
It’s rad have to admit too.
thats a sweet front fork bro
It’s a legend
Thanks for the video 👍
You bet
Marzocchi Brother!
Forgot the brother part haha
Marzoci o Marzocchi?
Mar zow key
Yes!!
Maybe get a not for the crown and a tool to install the star nut 😂😢
Harbor freight didn’t have any tools for that 😎
Pretty cool actually
😎
Fucking Great video, watching it stoned! This music!!!!
Few days late for 4/20.

It’s got different character. Air spring dimple changed the ride
Dude, please invest in some tools to avoid butchering forks.
He spent it all on the 10k pressure testing system 😂
As soon as harbor freight stocks them
Foxochhiiiiii😂

170 Zuc on a 180 Kenevo
It’s running 29er wheels 😎

So the US guy says, the only thing the uk does right is waterproofing………….after using his floor as a deburring tool😅
