    Thank you for your helpful video. I was able to strip down all the draw glides in my cabinet, clean them (using Turps), oil them with WD40 Anti-friction spray and reassemble them all from watching your video and reading some of the questions and answers in the comments. I'm so thrilled. They all seem to work perfectly now. Thank you.

    Thank you for making your knowledge & experience available in such a clear fashion. I bought tool cabinets 'not as described' from a certain auction site & resigned myself to rebuilding the slides. Replacement balls ordered, but the issue I have found (as others commented) are the broken black plastic strips which I shall endeavour to reproduce as they appear to be unobtainable to purchase. However, with all of the slides I have to rebuild, I have sufficient component parts to rebuild a pair of slides or two, but I could not feed the slide past the plastic strips with balls in the way I tried! That is, with the metal caged components fitted first. You have encouraged me to try again using your method. Wish me luck! Kindest regards, Mark

    Found this video when looking to replace some drawer slides. Will try fixing the existing ones first now. They seem a little bent out of shape. Someone probably overloaded them. I'll see if I can bend them back into shape. 👍👍

    Thank you for this helpful video, Sir 🙏 I was a bit distracted, worrying balls might get away from you and disappear into one of the work bench holes. But, maybe you're a daredevil, or maybe there's a fancy catch/ramp system under the bench like a pool table, or maybe that towel is magic... 🤔☺

    Thanks for your video; Followed your instructions and I serviced my pantry slides as they were stuck partly open wouldnt close and lock. Tried to reassemble the pantry and it stuck half way in; hits a hard stop on the bottom. The bottom is two slides the top is a single at top like a guide. I cannot see what is causing the hard stop; feels like it did before I took it apart;😒

    Thank you for the a very informitive video, its much appreciated. Based on your disassembly do you think it is possible to shorten an 80cm rail to a 75cm rail? or will cutting the front/back ends cause issues with the stoppers? where I am I can only get the rail i want in 70cm or 80cm but not 75cm... typically if the rail is for example 5.3cm wide and they rate a pair at 90kg do you think at full extension with 65kg load the flex/drooping down will be large?
    ( for a bit of context im making a sliding extension kitchen counter top with an approximate weight of 35kg and hoping to be able to extend the counter top out without needing any support legs, I am cosidering that the counter top weight plus additional weight placed onto the countertop whilst working on it and placing items..)
    thanks in advance for all your input

      Can you explain what you mean by spirits? Can I use 70% isopropyl alcohol? My drawers are getting difficult to open and shut. I used some oil spray, it’s slightly better. I thought if I cleaned it, then greased it like you showed, it would make glide easier. Thank you very much.

    Thank you for the video. I installed a full extension ball bearing style slide and it was working just fine. Decided to remove the drawer to sand and paint it and now the drawer won’t close all the way…it stays open about 4.5 inches. I taken it out and in several times and always stops at the same point. The slides move freely without the drawer. Can you think of a reason they won’t close anymore?

    • @NanaStillLearning

      Well I just went back to the drawer…took it out and reinstalled for the 20th time gave it a little shove and it went all the way in and is working fine now. No idea why it worked this time but glad it did.

    Great video!! After reinstalling and the drawer is back in, how do you keep the drawer from coming out too far? When this happens the weight of the drawer causes the slider to come out of track and the bearings to fall out (again)...

    • @dmgladden
      @dmgladden  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It wouldn't be able to come out too far they have a plastic catch to stop them I think you need to be looking at the catch, compare it with other ones to learn how it should be
