    You ask "What is it with the Japanese and not understanding black culture?
    The real question is "What is it with the Japanese and not understanding other cultures?
    The answer to both questions is. They don't care.

      ***** Exactly my thought. But I agree with Le Dom, I think the immigration rate is something like... 0.X%, and most of those are from other Asian countries, so they only rely on TV Shows etc xD

    Maybe it's just me, but I found Black Knight much better than Secret Rings. Sonic was easier to control, the story I found to be more interesting, the soundtrack was much better in my opinion (though to be fair, I don't really care for Secret Rings' soundtrack), and the multiplayer, while still not the greatest, was far better than Secret Rings' broken Mario Party clone.

      ***** You mean that one plot twist that was telegraphed before the story even picked up steam?
      But yeah, I definitely enjoyed Black Knight, flawed as it was. I remember Secret Rings fondly, but that's probably the ten years of nostalgia sitting on my back.

    • @thegamingknight642

      ***** Black Knight has probably the most definitive characterisation of Sonic, really nailing his personality while telling a nice story. Jason Griffith's performance was brilliant as well.

    Pokemon X and Y. The pros, it introduced character customization to the main stream Pokemon games, I only completely dislike ONE of the new Pokemon (Aromatise) while I love the rest (especially Hawlucha), the battle mechanics are polished to perfection, the mega-evolution is fun to use, EV training is easier, the online system is not a chore to use and you can INTERACT with your Pokemon!! Cons; weakest story in the entire franchise, most forgettable gym leaders ever, only 6 characters are either interesting or fleshed out, Team Flare is both forced and forgettably one dimensional (not counting their leader), the story doesn't even try to use the new mechanics and WAY too few inverse battles and I HATE SKY BATTLES WITH A BURNING PASSION!

    • @Jdudec367

      @@sisterlillybug3142 Pokémon is a franchise I feel is something you play for the gameplay- casual or competitive. Story and characters? You’re not getting much of either from Pokémon at all. The best story is in Black and White, and it’s mediocre at best.

    You, good sir, are(to me) a part of a little bunker of TH-cam past. The part that hasn't changed much, and refuses to. It's people like you, and others like Chuggaaconroy, who are proof that the pure, and good TH-cam is not at all dead, just concentrated into one place. Hopefully, someday, we can reclaim all that we have lost to the TV and movie channel TH-camrs.

    @MMOs:
    I usually find two underlying problems with them.
    #1: The grind. They deliberately put in filler content designed only to slow down the progress of the player (in order to stop the player from actually completing their game). This includes the "Kill X enemies in location" quest.
    #2: Combat usually isn't particularly interesting in them. This, combined with a plethora of "Kill X enemies"-type quests turns them into a huge chore. Personally, my favorite MMO is DCUO simply because it's combat is fun enough for me that "Fight X number of enemies" can still be fun. It also helps that such quests feel a bit more natural in a super-hero setting ("Baddies are overrunning an area! This looks like a job for a super hero!")

      Princess Celestia Personally, I enjoyed the game. The story was fantastic, the scenery and action looked great, the music was standard Sonic awesomeness, and the difficulty was just right through the main game. Side missions were another story, though. Anyway, a lot of the problems that Secret Rings had were fixed in Black Knight, though the inclusion of loose sword controls did add a new layer of clunkiness. It's flawed, yes, but it's got the kinds of flaws I can forgive in a game.
      Also, if you do pick it up, be warned that the first time you see the credits is only halfway through the story.

    • @KingRynoD.LeonhartTMB
      @KingRynoD.LeonhartTMB 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Princess Celestia Personally I really enjoyed the game as I do most Sonic games that people hate. Everybody's biggest complaint with most modern Sonic games is that they're "different". Usually because they each have some sort of gameplay mechanic (Guns, hoverboards, werehog combat, swords etc.) to differ themselves from each other which most people think that they're just trying to throw in new stuff to see what works and what doesn't.

    The Monster Hunter series.
    Don't get me wrong, I absolutely _love_ MH, but there's some problems with it that make me want to snap my 3DS in twain.
    "I'm going to go all the way across the map and regain all my health real quick, is that okay?
    Oh yeah, when you get to me, I'm also gonna take _all_ your health with a really fast attack while you panic because you're already poisoned and are out of antidotes. You cool with that?"
    ~Rathalos, 2015
    "My roar does damage :D"
    ~Akantor, 2015
    "I'll just sit here and do an attack that will make you completely immobile, then I'll bodyslam you to take all your health. Also, I'll make it so you can't heal with items. We cool?"
    ~Congalala, 2015

    • @electroshockgamer2733
      @electroshockgamer2733 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I love the Momster Hunter games, but I've kinda fallen out of Generations Ultimate because I feel like I'm going through a massive cycle of "get destroyed by monster, exhaust every resource available to me and finally kill it, go through a bunch of gathering quests to power up again, repeat for the next monster". It kind of gets exhausting after a while.

    Mine would be Skyward Sword. Yes the motion controls were gimmicky, and Fi was annoying af; but the combat was pretty enjoyable, Ghirahim is easily my favorite Zelda villian to date, and I like how it took full advantage of the fact that it's the first game in the timeline. What I mean by this is how it explains various reoccurring things in the series. It gives the origins of the Triforce, the forging of the Master Sword (as well as why it's called that), why the 3rd bearers of the Triforce ate always meeting up, and it even works in the origin of the main theme.

Damn this guy gets around.

    one of the games that I hate and love the most is 358/2 days. It's combat seemed repetitive and annoying and some bosses were extremely cheap (Ruler of the skies). But I loved the character development, how much you can see characters like Roxas grow into better characters, and I enjoyed slowly seeing parts from the first game flash up.

  • @stefanfr13
    @stefanfr13 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    My own candidate for this list, and I'm probably going to get crucified for this...
    The Last of Us.
    When the game was annouced I was so f*yay*ing hyped, a proper post-apocalypse game that wasn't tedious (Walking Dead Survival Instict) and not in early access limbo (DayZ).
    And it was quite a lot of fun, the visuals were amazing on PS3 and the gameplay was pretty decent what with the lack of supplies (which I actually FELT was the case compared to other games that claim to have such mechanics).
    The problem for me is the story and ESPECIALLY the ending, *THE REST OF THE COMMENT IS A MASSIVE SPOILER WARNING, LEAVE NOW IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS*
    At the very start of the game, Joel's daughter is shot and killed by a soldier, but this is glossed over by the 20-year timeskip immediately afterwards, they could've at least showed what Joel had to do in order to get over the situation of his daughter dying, but nope, timeskip for the win.
    Early on in the game you're introduced to Ellie, the other main character, who is later revealed to be immune to the zombie virus (which can be transfered through bites, how original) and that a group of survivors called the Fireflies wish to use her genes in order to make a cure.
    You can see the obvious story setup by now: Ellie reminds Joel of his dead daughter, they grow a bit, something happens that forces them to seperate, they come back together and promise never to leave each other's side, this sounds awfully familiar don't it? Sound like *EVERY VIDEO GAME AND MOVIE THAT HAS TWO PROTAGANISTS IN A POST-APOCALYPTIC WORLD*.
    But then comes the ending, where Joel finally delivers Ellie to the Fireflies and they immediately work on the cure... But it's then revealed that the opperation has a very high chance of killing Ellie in the process, but the lives of many are worth more than the life on one, right? 'WELL NOT ACCORDING TO JOEL!*
    Upon hearing this he grabs the nearest weapons and starts *MURDERING THE INNOCENT PEOPLE THAT COULD POSSIBLY END THE APOCALYPSE*, it doesn't matter who they were, soldiers or scientist, every Fireflies member that Joel ran into on that day were shot and killed, just because of a 14-15 year old girl that somewhat reminds Joel of his daughter.
    In case you weren't paying attention, THE ONE THING you've been working towards for the entire game was flushed down the drain because of a single man's selfish wish to keep the girl alive.
    Once Joel escapes with Ellie she wakes up and asks what happened, whereupon Joel straight up lies to her and says that they couldn't find a cure, Ellie even says "Swear to me... Swear to me that everything you told me about the Fireflies is true" whereupon Joel lies to her AGAIN and the screen cuts to black, DID SOMEONE SAY SEQUEL BAIT?
    I know I'm probably rambling for no apparent reason, but I just needed to get that off of my chest. The gameplay and visuals are good, but the story kills it, revives it and kills it a thousand times over.

    • @Arthas771
      @Arthas771 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      stefanfr13 While I do agree with most of with,the ending itself for me was good.
      But one thing though:INNOCENT PEOPLE?
      THe ONLY people I would consider innocent are the doctors who were doing the surgery and Marlene.
      THe rest of the fireflies however?
      When Joel gets Ellie to the hospital,they greet him by hitting him in the head with a gun.
      Also,if I remember good,the plan at first was to kill Joel on sight.The only reason they didn't do it was because of Marlene.
      As for the ending and Joel's decision,while it is sellfish,but for me it was believable ,and,dare I say, realistic?
      What I mean by that.
      While yes,by killing Ellie they could get cure for entire humanity but by doing that Joel would loose the only reason to give a damn.He treats Ellie like an adoptive daughter at tha point and to say to him that she needs to die so that humanity can live? Nu-uh.
      My reaction when Marlene says than Ellie will die was:Oh fuck no,screw you.You're not killing her.
      Imagine yourself in similar position.There is a person that you care for very much(doesn't have to be a family member,you just care).Then somebody tells you that they can save the world/race etc. BUT that person needs to die.
      Would you really say:Ok,do that,let's save the world OR: NO,you're not doing that.

      @coolguyman16 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      stefanfr13 I agree with you on everything, the story had a little too much drama, and the ending was a disappointment. But I also had a problem with the replay-ability. Once you beat the game for the first time, you realize the start is agonizingly slow, i just want to get into the action but Joel and Ellie have to walk through the environment and explain the situation I already know. It's why I've only beaten the game once.

    • @insulttothehumanrace3807
      @insulttothehumanrace3807 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +stefanfr13 Well, about the ending... it's been talked about and debated A LOT in other parts of the Internet (Josh's Top Ten Evil Characters comment section being one of those parts), but one vague issue with the ending is this: there was no guarantee whatsoever that the surgery with Ellie would have produced a cure and saved the world (in fact, during the hospital level, the player can find recordings stating that Ellie is far from the first immune person they've found and tried this on). In addition, as Krzysztof Gorski above has stated, the Fireflies are not good people, so Joel's distrust and vengeance on them were understandable (even if he went too far).
      Still, though, Last of Us was a very beautiful game, had pretty good gameplay, and even had two interesting ideas about a zombie apocalypse that I had not seen before: people with an immunity to the plague, and zombies just decaying out and re-dying on their own. Granted, the story did not do much with these ideas (nor do most movies/games/stories that even consider those elements, which are not many), but it was fun to consider.
      And yeah, coolguyman16, a game like that does have little replay value. I guess the devs thought there may be a little replay value in the Joel's customization system, but that doesn't help much when you're playing through the same (long) story over and over.

    The worse thing about the game ??
    DREAM EATERS !! I hate the idea of it. The leveling and acquiring abilities is a HORRIBLE IDEA !
    Trying to get second chance and once more is such a chore ! I thought it was bad in Birth by Sleep because you can get it early in the game; hence, breaking balance and challenge of the game but in DDD it TAKES FOREVER and you need them to fight Ansem and Young Xehanort !

    Im a huge Kingdom Hearts fan and if theres a game thats i hate and love the most (more on hate) it would be birth by sleep. Hands down the best KH game is kh2fm and when Birth by sleep came out my God i went through i tone of pressure just to buy a psp and the game with it and then when i played it i was heart broken, THE GAMEPLAY ... SUCKS. Physical combos feel off in comparison to KH2, having forced command styles during mod/boss fights are annoying and good God ! Bosses like mysterious figure and no heart are a b*tch to beat without second chance and once more (especially with terra) and unfortunately the game doesnt make much effort to tell you how to obtain the two they just say "meld your commands ..." thats IT ! The only thing i love about Birth by Sleep mainly is of the story and character design. Ventus is cool and it explains why soras nobody looks like ventus himself. Aqua character and design is summed in one word: Beautiful. For a woman shes one hell of a keyblade weilder she kicked vanitus' ass and sacrificed her freedom to save terra/terranort. As for terra, he's my second favourite character in terms of detail. I look at him as a daily kid/teenager/man who is trying to do the right thing but leading him into struggle with bad things that end up making himself stronger.
    So yeah i love the story of birth by sleep but hate the gameplay.

    I will say this, I really REALLY enjoyed "Rhythm Thief and the Emperor's Treasure" for the 3DS. It was the first rhythm game I ever owned and was able to finish, the story and its characters drew me in (Phantom R in particular is an entertaining and charming character), and a lot of the mini-games were fun to go through... with the glaring exception of a lot of mini-games involving Charlie.
    Now I don't hate Charlie as a character, but his mini-games were a big pain in the ass. At least half of them involve you kicking his soccer ball back to him in time with the music (obviously), but the problem is you practically have to be pinpoint accurate or you'd miss the cue entirely and your score at the end of the game would get severely penalized as a result! The hang-glider min-game in particular was a huge source of frustration for me cuz the tilt controls, for some reason, didn't want to cooperate in that particular mini-game! You know how many times it took me to beat that one? 33! Yeah yeah, I know a lot of Charlie's mini-games are set at a higher difficulty than a lot of the others, but that doesn't change the fact that this pint-sized detective needs to be NERFED!!!
    I still love the game nonetheless, and I'm still waiting on that sequel, Sega! Don't pull a Capcom and leave us on an unresolved cliffhanger!

If any of you say "oh it sucks because Sonic has a sword", that just means you only looked for the bad in the game and hate changes, like the fucking eye color of Sonic. Also, before anybody askes, yes I believe that BK is a good game, actually a great game. *Love-hates!*
    3: Five Nights at Freddy's. Let's start by saying that what frustrates me the most about the games is that they're actually more like two games in one for every release, with the first game being overly lengthy, stressful, rage-inducing, and almost downright unpalatable, (The segments of the game where you're actually *playing* the game) but the second game being eerie, gripping, and at some points, mind-blowing. (The minigames, the secrets, the ARG-esque discovering of lore, the hidden endings) I loved the lore, and I loved the minigames, and I loved traversing the wilds of the internet, the forums, wikis, reddits, just to find out what's going on and uncover stuff for myself. Theorizing, conversing, it was all part of this really entertaining and fun experience that was bogged down by having to play the actual game. It's a situation where my real life experience revolving around the game was a more pleasurable time than the time spent actually experiencing the game, so I figured it would be worth mention.
    2: Metroid Prime. This game was fantastic, with the utterly atmospheric music design and aesthetic, the perfect level of mobility, a well-built growth curve for the middle 75% of the game, a fascinating world teeming with life in Talon IV, and some ABSURDLY DEEP levels of lore that, to this day, I've only really had challenged by Silent Hill and the Elder Scrolls series. On the FLIP SIDE, backtracking was a pain in the ass, particularly since Samus herself galumphs her metal ass around like she were walking on stilts, along with the fact that the morph ball has a surprising amount of trouble accessing several different area. The backtracking also became the WORST experience in the game a little bit later on when the obnoxious and difficult chozo ghost enemies start showing up in EVERY ROOM OF THE CHOZO RUINS. You know, the *HUB WORLD*. Not to mention, the game was often a little unintuitive or even backward in how you should go about solving your problems, (I.E you can't get a heat resistant suit without first taking a short detour through the hottest level in the game) which would have been acceptable if map layout were more accepting of lateral thinking. There were multiple occasions where I would be trying to go to a particular room, but the normal path to the room was swarming with danger, so I would try to take an alternate route to the room via the back door, and end up wasting half an hour of backtracking by finding out that the route was actually just a one-way exit OUT of the room!
    1:Smash Bros series. It's my favorite series of all time, with a MASSIVE list of pros and achievements that almost no other game series can hope to live up to. Conceptual brilliance, with tight and well-executed mechanics, and the only possible things on this planet that can make a man happier than playing his all time favorite character in smash are discovering a NEW all-time favorite character through smash (bowser) and sex. I am comparing a video game to sex, it makes me that happy. Which is why it's so frustrating whenever they get it wrong. Character balance is always one of the most massive issues in any smash title, even moreso in smash because it punishes you for playing your favorite characters, and playing your favorite character is almost the entire reason for smash bros. I'll be playing with friends as bowser, ganon, WFT, or someone else, and I'll get utterly pulverized by some diddy kong player who clearly doesn't actually care about the character or even playing in a style that he likes, but only cares about playing the top tier, winning every game, and being an asshole. Not to mention the game is addicting in all the right ways, buuut also some of the wrong ways. Menu layout, timers, and gui are programmed so that losers never quit, whether by the game spending an overly lengthy time on the win screen, or by it being much more inconvenient and slow to quit a game than to start up another round and maybe get your smash power back. It almost makes you feel like you dishonor somebody by leaving a match, ESPECIALLY after a losing streak.

    OKAMI IS BEST. ALL PERISH BEFORE THE BEAUTY OF AMATERASU AND HER BELOVED NIPPON!!!! But I guess you made up for it with the Kefka-Dimensio bit. That was awesome! Keep up the top tens!

    While I agree on the difficult spikes and super sayin spamming I didn't really have a problem with super armor, but my biggest problem was with the parallel quests and having to complete the bonus objectives to try to fight the bonus character only for them not to appear

    dream drop distance needed a shadow of the colossus boss, IMAGINE HOW AWESOME IT WOULD BE CLIMBING WITH FLOWMOTION (thankfully this might happen in III)

    I think I may have 2: Tera, because while I do like the flow of combat and the class and race options, it is a reminder that being an MMO, I mostly wanted to play with friends, but because they tended to be higher levels than I, it meant they either had to create another character to play, or I had to do quests alone - which feels tedious at times and makes me think I'd be best off just playing a single player game. The other one is Majora's Mask because while it feels rewarding to do quests, the fact that having to travel back in time undid everything I've accomplished (minus the permanent upgrades) makes me question what's the point even of doing the quests?

    I'm having trouble understanding what was wrong with Sticker Star. I've played it a bit myself and while resource management is a bit annoying I haven't found it to be all that bad.

    The problem with the "Tamagatchi" part of KH Triple D wasn't that it existed as much as it took WAY too long to get the better abilities in the first place. I actually beat the game on Proud Mode WITHOUT Second Chance or Once More. I don't know how I did that.

    It'd have to be Crimson Shroud for me. Interesting aesthetic and gameplay with the tabletop RPG elements, but the story ends on such a downer (and that one level where you have to fight skeletons over and over just to get the item that will help you move forward... ugh) that I'm questioning whether or not I should even play it again.

    What is the name of the first music track played in the Sonic and the secret rings segment?
    Around 10:20? UPDATE: I found out myself after 10 minutes of research, it's Splash Hill Zone from Sonic 4.

    F-Zero GX is also on my love/hate list. It's a one-of-a-kind super fast and fun racer, but when you ask for the shackles to come off, it holds nothing back.
    My advice for the final mission on Normal mode is to not race to ghost, but the track. The ghost barely tries on Normal, and you're just getting a feel for the track. On Hard, same thing, just boost once or twice. Very Hard? You're racing the ghost, and a near-perfect one at that. I cleared every mission on every difficulty, and personally, I found the Grand Prix mission the hardest. I wish you good luck on it, as it took my a combined few months to clear (including the first file that got deleted by a defect in my Wii)

    That ending statement for number eight, I agree, I haven't played Devil May Cry games, but I've played Mario Galaxy, granted, it only makes you do this to 100% the game, BUT COME ON! Sure you play as Luigi, but Luigi's campaign is barely different from Mario's, Luigi has slippery physics, better jump height, slightly altered text, a more frustrating version of Cosmic Mario (Cosmic Luigi) and Mail Toad gives you twenty lives instead of five, yaaaaay! Luigi doesn't even save Mario, he saves Luigi, come on Nintendo! Here's the best part, all you get for recollecting all 120 stars as Luigi, and watching the credits four freaking times, you get an uninspired purple coins level, in Peach's courtyard, from the beginning of the game, yaaaaay! Mario Galaxy Two fixed this, by adding green stars, making the experience after collecting the one hundred-twenty stars fresh, and the finale level is a Galaxy that tests your skills, called Grand Master Galaxy, now that's improvement.
