I remember crying tears of joy. I hadn't been that excited for a videogame in years. The build of the music, the visuals, enormous freaking world with no real boundaries and of course the action. I probably dropped a tear as soon as Zelda started crying in Links arms. It got me back into console gaming because I was only playing on the handhelds since the GameCube. I love my Switch and I still play Breath of the wild from time to time because I still haven't found all the Korok seeds or shrines. I know that their are guides from people who already 100% it already but I would prefer figuring it out and finding them myself

Puttong Halo 3 on here was a good call. I remember even back in the 5th grade people were talking about multiplayer matches they had been in while wandering the halls and at lunch. You couldn't go anywhere without hearing about it, that's how good it was.

Well, you've ended up hyping March for me now. Fortunately, February will be enough time for me to get KH 3 and play through a decent amount of it. As for the list itself, it was a very nice way for me to end my night. Of the games on the list, my play experience came from Smash Ultimate (been playing quite a bit of it since Christmas) and LoZ Twilight Princess (first Zelda game I completed). My brother has experience with Skyrim and CoD MW 2 as well, and I even recall watching him play through the campaign of the latter. Very nice list. :)

The most hyped game for me was Halo 3. Every friend I had was going to get this game and we were planning on playing it for months. This today is still the game my friends and I look back on the most when it comes to FPS games. No other FPS managed to keep our attention as long as this game did. Now that might be be getting dethroned though soon... Kingdom Hearts III is only 14 days away. :D
I *REALLY* need to learn about the Kingdom Hearts Timeline! On a side note, I'm playing through Kirby Planet Robobot solely with the Smash Bros. ability, just to both prepare for the World of Light and express my hype for it!
*Sees favorite Zelda game get #2* Thank you lol. I got the Gamecube version because I did not want to try playing the game with motion controls. Yeah with the exception of the Palace of Twilight, I enjoyed all of the dungeons with a few of them making my Top 10 Zelda dungeons of all time with Goron Mines being #1 (mostly thanks to the iron boots, loved walking on walls and ceilings).
I was one of the few people not talking about No Man's Sky, as for some reason, it didn't wow me in the slightest. I had nothing but apathy, not caring one way or another about its alleged features. Watching the hype and then the collapse afterwards from a position of non-investment was... kinda surreal.
I honesly didn't see a lot of the Halo 3 leaks. What I did see was the Beleive campaign. It featured a BUNCH of emotional teasers with veterans discussing their experiences with the war, the new Brute guns that would be implemented into the game, the moving freeze frame depicting an intense part of the war and how Master Chief made their victory possible. They were even referenced in the Halo Universe encyclopedia. That is a big deal in my mind. Not quite as big as Devil May Cry 3, but still a good sign that the third time can indeed be a charm.
The Knight, Hornet and Grimm from Hollow Knight still aren't in Smash Ultimate, if they get in via trailer as official playable characters, I will go to Japan and shake Sakurai's hand personally

Skyrim... for a 2011 game on consoles from 2006 comparable to a mid-range gaming PC fro 2003... It's really freaking good considering the limits of hardware they had to program it for. This is when we got the Intel Sandy Bridge 2000-series of CPU's, 8GB+ of RAM was fairly common for gaming systems, GTX 680's, Windows 7 with DX11 was 2 years old; and yet the game was able to run on Pentium 4's with 2GB of RAM running Windows XP and a 7600 GS.
I consider the Crash and Spyro remaster trilogies hyped since a lot of people were hyped from the trailers alone and that hype just slammed right back like a sledgehammer with the announcement of Crash Nitro kart remastered coming soon.
Dammit, I was planning to crack wise and ask about Overwatch's buildup over a year of hype growing during its thorough beta phase. Plus what it brought for those that streamed/got in. As well as being Blizzard's first new IP in quite some time... However I'll concede, your picks did carry more hype than even Overwatch had. 5:26 Halo 3: ODST and Halo Wars? Disappointing? I respectfully disagree. ODST is very unique in that it has an overworld and a non-linear campaign (When unlocked). Also, playing as a non-Spartan was interesting as it encouraged stealth and more careful planning (You didn’t have a motion tracker). As for Halo Wars; let’s not forget that it was an RTS on a console that actually worked well, which is very impressive. Also, Josh, Wars was developed by Ensemble Studios, not Bungie. Overall, great video, but I had to point this out. Keep up the good work. Can’t wait for Top 10 Activision Fails. ❤️
Great list, Josh. Though, a bit of an unpopular opinion of mine...I liked Skyward Sword more than Twilight Princess...and I played Twilight Princess first.
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is one of the few Zelda games I have any hope of completing without cheat codes. By that, I mean the only Zelda games I've played without needing cheats is the original LoZ, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask. Haven't played Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, or any of the games made after Twilight Princess, though.
The Smash Ultimate hype was so big. I couldn't stop talking about it until release and even then,I *still* talk about it because the hype isn't dead! The hype is still going for the dlc,as we have no idea who the new characters are gonna be!
no mans sky was nerfed due to flooding taking out most of their work, they could've killed it but they continued it, and updated it with most of what they wanted in it at the start
I had watched the last few E3s on stream and when the announcement trailers for KH3, FF7 Remake and RE2 Remake dropped the chats went crazy. Especially for KH3 which I took part in as the original reason why I wanted a PS3 was that (ended up buying it for Arkham Asylum which I'm thankful for as I would of missed out on the system if I hadn't, thanks Enix) and my hype for that remained until early 2018 when Spyro: Reignited Trilogy's trailer dropped cause childhood dammit.
I've got to said about the hype for Halo 3 was real. I mean it was like I was experiencing history in the making. The marketing, the trailers and I didn't even have a 360 yet.
Sakurai is just a gaming treasure, with so many games being so divisive and "Political" it's nice for gamers to unite under fun, wholesome games like Smash, and of course, Kirby. Kirby's Epic Yarn 3DS hype.
So I got back into Pokémon Go in November (after not touching the game since 2016) and it's kind of amusing to see the amount of people who think it just stopped being a thing. Maybe it's just me, but even now players aren't that hard to spot.
The only thing I guessed right was Pokemon Go and No Man's Sky. I'm ashamed to say that out of the ones I care about, I had temporarily forgot about Smash... and Twilight Princess...
First off, the only Duke Nukem games I truly loved were Time To Kill and Land of the Babes. Secondly...here we are in 2019 and Skyrim, for me, STILL stands as THE BEST Fantasy RPG game to come out yet. To this day, the original trailer still gives me goose pimples. Not to mention that the duel-wielding combat, the dragons, dragon SHOUTS and new powers in Skyrim are all just awesome. Here's hoping Elder Scrolls 6 will be just as great. But something tells me that without the Dragonborn in the game, it won't feel quite as cool

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is one of the few Zelda games I have any hope of completing without cheat codes. By that, I mean the only Zelda games I've played without needing cheats is the original LoZ, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask. Haven't played Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, or any of the games made after Twilight Princess, though.

The Smash Ultimate hype was so big. I couldn't stop talking about it until release and even then,I *still* talk about it because the hype isn't dead! The hype is still going for the dlc,as we have no idea who the new characters are gonna be!

I'm a bit disappointed Brawl wasn't on here, but the story around Smash Ultimate put a smile back on me.
I had watched the last few E3s on stream and when the announcement trailers for KH3, FF7 Remake and RE2 Remake dropped the chats went crazy. Especially for KH3 which I took part in as the original reason why I wanted a PS3 was that (ended up buying it for Arkham Asylum which I'm thankful for as I would of missed out on the system if I hadn't, thanks Enix) and my hype for that remained until early 2018 when Spyro: Reignited Trilogy's trailer dropped cause childhood dammit.
I've got to said about the hype for Halo 3 was real. I mean it was like I was experiencing history in the making. The marketing, the trailers and I didn't even have a 360 yet.
Sakurai is just a gaming treasure, with so many games being so divisive and "Political" it's nice for gamers to unite under fun, wholesome games like Smash, and of course, Kirby. Kirby's Epic Yarn 3DS hype.

So I got back into Pokémon Go in November (after not touching the game since 2016) and it's kind of amusing to see the amount of people who think it just stopped being a thing. Maybe it's just me, but even now players aren't that hard to spot.
I think there's an argument for Undertale to be included in this list. The hype happened after release rather than before, but it was definitely hype.

First off, the only Duke Nukem games I truly loved were Time To Kill and Land of the Babes.
Secondly...here we are in 2019 and Skyrim, for me, STILL stands as THE BEST Fantasy RPG game to come out yet. To this day, the original trailer still gives me goose pimples.
Not to mention that the duel-wielding combat, the dragons, dragon SHOUTS and new powers in Skyrim are all just awesome. Here's hoping Elder Scrolls 6 will be just as great.
But something tells me that without the Dragonborn in the game, it won't feel quite as cool

I was so hyped for the Spyro remaster I actually broke my rule of not seeing trailers or reveals for it.
I knew that Halo 3 or Halo 2 was going to be on the list, and after watching all the way to the second spot, I was one hundred percent certain.
Can't wait till March.
