This kid is awesome!!! Nothing better than going outside and tinkering with things instead of being inside playing video games. Great job and keep the videos coming kid.
Hey little human, you need to give you dad a huge hug and tell him thank you for teaching you fundamental skills that you will most definitely benefit from as you go through life. Awesome job little dude. Keep it up
You probably figured it out by now, but your choke should be the throttle all the way forward. As soon as it starts you pull it back to run. It cracks me up every time you talk like your Dad. SABRE.
Make sure you hit the bell icon next to the subscribe button and change the notifications to "all". If it still doesn't work it might be in your phone permissions. Hope one of those two helps!
Thanks for sharing Bentley, enjoyed your video! Sorry about the Cub Cadet but it did make a good video when you were fixing it! I just finished watching your dad video right before yous, both great videos! Kirk from Louisiana sending prayers and positive energy to you and your family little brother! See ya on the next video my friend! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻oh you might be able to buy a tube from tractor supply if those tires are still good! Then you can get dad to break it down with his tire machine! Take care Bentley and thanks Bradley for helping you during this video, I guess he’s your strong man! It’s nice to have a strong arm helping you whenever you need! lol 🤣😂🤣 He picked up that push mower like it was nothing! 💪🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙋🏼✌🏻✌🏻💯💯
Good job LG! Someone already told you about the button for reversing, but the choke mode is throttle lever all the way forward. That's why is was running "weird" when you pushed it all the way up. You should feel an indent, like a bump in the lever when it's full throttle. Past that is choke. The orange, up/down thingy on the left is a parking brake. Push that pedal all the way in and lift on the orange thingy, release the pedal and it should stay pushed down. You can start it without having to be on it. That "1800s push mower" (LOL) is more likely late 1960s to mid 1970s. The deck looked like it was cast aluminum. FIND!! Looked to be in great shape, not rusty (corroded) or broken. See if you can find some old metal wheels (like on the back) for it. Not the new plastic ones. Might even find some around the old barn. You could polish the aluminum deck and make it shine! Remove the blade and replace it with a pulley and install a car alternator to run from the bottom of the motor with a belt and make a generator...of sorts 12v, charge batteries... Hook up a power inverter and use it for 110v power tools, lights, etc. (Dad-help seriously encouraged here) Some mowers of that period actually had magnesium decks! I have an old LawnBoy mower with one. Love watching your shows and thanks to Bradley for manning the camera. Good job Brad!
Really well presented. Who knew TH-cam capabilities were genetic? The young man's intelligence and eloquence a chip off the old man's block. (As hard as dad tries to disguise it.) Terrific show!
The little yellow button on the left is the backup button. Some mowers you have to push and hold but it's so you can backup without turning off the blades
Thanks Bentley very enjoyable as usual, you will soon be in charge of your own mower racing team! "Little Grip Racing". Mum and dad must be very proud..Take care from the UK. 👍
Wonderful to see you thinking about the little Bird that was nesting in your mower... Well done M8, dont ever forget about the wildlife that's around you and do everything you can to protect it... Well Done !!!
Great job Bentley! Incase you haven't figured it out yet, the little yellow button on the dash is to keep the mower deck engaged while in reverse. Had the same mower a few years back.
Only when used as the French pronunciation with Le in front .it’s Sabre as in the curved sword .Sabre as in its usage to cut grass In example ,it’s blades ..
This is INCORRECT. This tractor was designed and built by JD. I was on that project team and know of which I speak. Don't believe everything you read on the interwebs.
You go young man! -- Problem solving skills you are developing will last you a lifetime ! Perhaps check the cable on your blade engagement - likely broken, rusted or otherwise impinged so that it doesn't operate the idler and engage the belt / blades.
Man what a good show Bentley! And talk about dirtbike heaven! Growing up on that property and having dirt bikes and snowmobiles and go karts is awesome and good for the soul. That's exactly how I grew up and it did all right by me. Enjoy it. Your parents are doing right by you and you are doing right by them so keep up the good work kiddo!!!
I just realized he's more interesting then his dad. And I'm a huge vice grip fan. I'm chilling with this, vise grip, sleeperdude. That's some good clean u tube
Good to see the smallest human with a bit of dirt under his fingernails just gettin her done - great work Bentley - cheers from Tasmania 👍great work on the camera Bradley and mum 👍
On the John Deere on the right side you have the brake pedal and the height adjustment for cutting grass. The orange (P) is your parking brake. The yellow button you push in when you want to go in reverse. If you don't push it in, it will stall out. The yellow handle on the right is for engaging the blades. Hope this helps you out.
Bentley, you are correct about this being a John Deere. In fact this machine was designed for high speed assembly which lowered the cost. The bosses at Deere were afraid we would damage the Deere name and wouldn't let us brand it Deere. But this only lasted a year or two and the quality of the design let us brand the unit Deere and it became the 100 Series. I was the engineering manager in charge of designing this machine. Being the engineering manager let me collect some advertising material which I would give you if you would like. Let me know and I'll send it to you. Just FYI, these were built (and still are) in Greenville Tennessee.
Nice job Bentley, your initiative is quite admirable. Don't worry, making this into a racing machine is waaay better than what it was headed for, which was the scrap pile. "Things running richer than Mr. Beast" ... you crack me up! Keep up the great work, and make sure your folks know you appreciate all they do for you ;)
The orange slider on left side of dash is parking brake so you don't have to push left side pedal to start. To enable, push pedal all the way forward, slide button up and let go of pedal. To disengage, push pedal down, and slide button down. Yellow button is to be able to back up with blades running. Slider on right side of dash is "cruise control".
The Sabre being a hydrostatic transmission is going to be limited to making it go fast. It can be done, but it's not likely to do what it should for very long. A gear drive transmission is what you need. You mentioned using the Cub tires on the Sabre, the wheels wont work most likely. Usually the Husqvarna and Deere riders will use a key way on the rear axle and the MTD/Cub riders will use a shaped axle. The tension idler arm on the mower deck is probably stuck, it's pretty common after that sit for a while. It's just a manual pivot situation. The Kohler engine is a peach though. Those are hard to come by anymore (the command). Fun watching you learn.
hey there little grip, im sure someone else has told you, but in case they havent, that lever on the back of these mowers is the engagement for the hydrostatic transmission. if you pull that lever out it disengages the transmission (puts the mower in neutral) and you can push the mower without damaging the transmission. if you push the lever in it engages the transmission and pushing the mower with the transmission engaged can damage it.
The pull lever disengages the transmission so it free wheels making it easier to push. Also, pushing the mower with the drive engaged a can damage the transmission
Hey Bentley a good tip on fuel valves is turned in line it will run fine, to the side it won’t run or will die. I worked on one of these that was stored for years in a garage and used to cut the lawn 3 times before it was put away with no fuel in it. Definitely sounds like it wants a valve adjustment
Sob Ray....you crack me up little dude Man! Keep them coming! By the way sir, I'm surprised your father hasn't imparted this knowledge tidbit. But a general rule on valves (Gas, Air...ect) is if the valve knob/handle is in line with the hose/pipe direction, that is on, and of course if it crosses the direction of the lines that is off, great deduction by you.😉 Running richer than Mr. Beast....you crack me up!! Oh and that Husqvarna oil you picked up behind your John Deere, most probably belongs to the owner of that mower...best to put it on his seat, not keep it.
Great episode. Sorry abut the Cadet. Glad you found this one. Looking forward to the progress. Be safe! Jessica, good on you for putting (I'm sure) your long lid=st of things to do on hold to go record/keep an eye on your boys while they do these things. That's way better them telling them no, or letting them be out there alone with "heavy" (LOL) OK, potentially dangerous equipment. That's very cool of you! great video! Can't wait for the next one. Be safe!
Honestly your teaching this non mechanical grandpa stuff for getting a cpl mowers together to race around with my granddaughter good stuff my mans just a word of advice. Next time clean it off outside easier clean up afterward lol. Keep having fun your doing a great job be safeish!
Your PTO belt is broken or jumped. That mechanical PTO design is much easier on belts than the electric clutch design, so longer belt life. Cheap to fix. This mower was probably built in the premium JD facility in Horicon, Wisconsin. If the serial number starts with "MX", then that's the case. If it starts with "GX", then it was built in Greeneville, Tennessee. The Sabre was originally intended to be sold only through non-JD dealers like Sears and Home Depot and was targeted at the "mid-price market". It was based on the model STX mower, with specific design changes to reduce cost, while maintaining reliability and durability. That Kohler engine is a good one. Maintain it, and it will last a lifetime, if it's not already ruined. About the smoking, when you push the throttle full forward, it engages the choke, which will flood the engine quickly, so only use when cold., never when running. The hydrostatic transmission is sealed, so no oil change is recommended. Have fun bringing it back to life! Also, you missed a decimal point on the hour meter...100+ hours is more like it, not 1000+!
nice work. peddle on left is parking break and orange level is to lock it on. little button on left is to allow you to reverse when blade is engaged, lever in front of steering wheel is to engage PTO (blade) peddle on right is hydrostatic to go forward and smaller peddle behind it is to reverse.
Who else finds themselves checking for Friday nights "Little Grip Garage" earlier and earlier?? I know I do!!!! YES!! 🙌 😂🤣😎
Definitely I look forward to the new episodes. He is learning and improving.
I DO! LG IS BECOMING JUST LIKE HIS DAD.
yep
I might not see it on Friday but I do make sure to see any Bieri video. Bentley is really coming along great!
Next time blow the mower off outside and you won’t need to sweep the garage
“This things running richer than Mr.Beast” 🤣🤣🤣
You keep making me want to go buy a beat up riding mower or two!
Just to see if we can still tune and raise cane with a baby motor😂😂
its really nice Brad helping his little brother . its rare now days that siblings hang out together out side . warms my heart
Thank you Bentley. Big thanks to Mom and your.brothers for.helping with your highly successful channel. Dad too...:)

SAAA BRAAAAAY!
What can I say? You remind me of myself, 45 years ago. Great job young man.
Bentley gets funnier on every new episode. You're doing an awesome job, dude.
I'm not sure why YT isn't notifying me when a LGG video drops, but I'll keep looking for 'em. Keep up the great content!
It's not just LGG. I have a few subs that don't show up in my sub tab or send notifications.
I didn't get notification either.
Me neither
Make sure you hit the bell icon next to the subscribe button and change the notifications to "all". If it still doesn't work it might be in your phone permissions. Hope one of those two helps!
I’ve had this happen on other channels. It was fixed by unsubscribing and then resubscribing.
Listening to Bentley saying "SAH-bray!" was the highlight of the video for me! That one didn't fall far from the Derek tree!
Oh you know that’s even why he’s working on it! 😂
Thanks for sharing Bentley, enjoyed your video! Sorry about the Cub Cadet but it did make a good video when you were fixing it! I just finished watching your dad video right before yous, both great videos! Kirk from Louisiana sending prayers and positive energy to you and your family little brother! Those Kohlers are good engines. I've got a 16HP one on a 20 year old mower, still running strong.
Me and my Grandsons love watching your channel. Great videos.
You’re doing great buddy!! Also thanks to Mom and Dad that I sense are a bit more involved than is shown.
Good job LG!

You’re a chip off the old block Bentley. You sound just like your dad and thats a good thing. Keep doing what you do little man!!!!
"Nothing Runs Like A Deere" son, you will find out. Digging this one 😊.
Great job Bentley! Who would have thunk that JD produced a model called SAAAABRE!!! 🤣
Thanks Bentley very enjoyable as usual, you will soon be in charge of your own mower racing team! "Little Grip Racing". Mum and dad must be very proud..Take care from the UK. 👍
Your becoming a great little mechanic! Roll on getting your licence and then off doing barn find cars!

Right on Bentley, sorry to hear the other one grenaded. Runs good 👍!!! Nice job!!! The Le...Saaaaaaabreee!!!😂😂😂😂😂 luv it, just like ur awesome dad!!!
This kid is an amazing American. Derick, you and your wife are doing a great job.
The ole SABRE!!😂😂😂 that tickle me so much!
“Be careful with it, it’s brand new” that was funny. 😆
That old push mower is pretty cool!
The World needs more Bentleys to challenge themselves to reach a goal and those who can need support from Family to do so. Like this young man👍🔧
Another lodge worthy rescue
The old push mower would be cool to get running
Its got a Briggs & Stratton Motor on it so it will most definitely run with a little love.
Great job Bentley! Incase you haven't figured it out yet, the little yellow button on the dash is to keep the mower deck engaged while in reverse. Had the same mower a few years back.
Always had good luck with the Kohler engines, will get the job done👍🏻
As a European, I can confirm that this is the correct pronunciation of Saaabrey. Love the content wee guy - you are doing a grand job !
Only when used as the French pronunciation with Le in front .it’s Sabre as in the curved sword .Sabre as in its usage to cut grass In example ,it’s blades ..
Back in a past life when i was a teenager i worked as a lawnmower Mechanic. That sabre is a MTD sold by Jon deer. Keep doing what you do!
These were not made by MTD, Deere made them. These became what was first sold as Deere branded units in the big box stores.
This is INCORRECT. This tractor was designed and built by JD. I was on that project team and know of which I speak. Don't believe everything you read on the interwebs.
just like his Dad i love it it gets me in the feelins
You go young man! -- Problem solving skills you are developing will last you a lifetime ! Perhaps check the cable on your blade engagement - likely broken, rusted or otherwise impinged so that it doesn't operate the idler and engage the belt / blades.

A good custom flame paint job would be cool !! Great job young Man !
I just realized he's more interesting then his dad. And I'm a huge vice grip fan. I'm chilling with this, vise grip, sleeperdude. That's some good clean u tube
“There’s still oil in this, we’re taking it home” my man is learning lol.
Fun to watch. Keep up the good work! We have 2 Sabres!!
Haha what a great little episode, so many Derek-isms... Perfect, you did all right troubleshooting to get the mower running.
You are doing a great job, young man! Love seeing the evolution of your trouble shooting skills! Keep it up little bro!
Didn't take you long to get it figured out and running. Good job as always Bentley.
Bently, so sorry to hear about the Cub Cadet after all your hard work. This unit should be a fun build. 😊😊😊😊
Keep at it little man!!! You are doing AWESOME!!!! 100k subs!!! Great work.
Good to see the smallest human with a bit of dirt under his fingernails just gettin her done - great work Bentley - cheers from Tasmania 👍great work on the camera Bradley and mum 👍
Keep at it Brantly, you do good work and it looks like you enjoy it. I'm sure you make your Mom and Dad proud.

The yellow button you push in when you want to go in reverse. If you don't push it in, it will stall out. The yellow handle on the right is for engaging the blades. Hope this helps you out.
The yellow button is "no mow in reverse", a safety feature, like the operator presence switch in the seat.
Bentley knocking another one out of the park! Thanks buddy, keep 'em coming!!!
Good job getting it running . Good job Bradley for helping out , also good job to Mom .

SAAAAABRE!!!! Can’t wait to see you take rip on this thing! Awesome job Little Grip!
Good job getting that old tractor running.
Great Revival and Video! Thank You.

The Cub Cadet can be fixed. Unless it's burnt to the ground, it can be fixed. Great video 💯

“SAB-RE!” Hahaha! Clearly his father’s child! 😂😂
Bentley looks a lot like his mom but has all the personality and attributes of his dad. Great video as always
It's your Professional Lingo that I admire most !😎
Our 8 year old daughter likes watching this show!!
SABRE!!!! Another great video. Awesome to have a big bro to help you👍
hey there little grip, im sure someone else has told you, but in case they havent, that lever on the back of these mowers is the engagement for the hydrostatic transmission. if you pull that lever out it disengages the transmission (puts the mower in neutral) and you can push the mower without damaging the transmission. if you push the lever in it engages the transmission and pushing the mower with the transmission engaged can damage it.

I’m ten and this video made me want to build a mud mower thank you ❤
You are over the top dude. I love your attitude and your drive.
The pull lever disengages the transmission so it free wheels making it easier to push. Also, pushing the mower with the drive engaged a can damage the transmission
Good job again, Bentley. Also, good looking out helping your bro Brad.👍

Way to go young fella experience is the best teacher 👍
Hey Bentley, too bad the Cub Cadet didn`t work out. Looking forward to this build.
You try to act like your father so much it’s wonderful love Derrick and the family amazing people
Mowers that are made by John Deere are really high-quality even John Deere if you get the right kind and they are worked like a horse
"move this 18 hundredes lawn mower"... 😂😂😂
I love his theory of the valve. Bradley's using the ole bean
Kid cracks me up, like father like son Saaaaabre!
you are an awesome young man !!!!!! keep going and one day you and your dad will be running vgg together !!!!!!!!!!
This thing is running richer than MrBeast!!! 😂
Honestly your teaching this non mechanical grandpa stuff for getting a cpl mowers together to race around with my granddaughter good stuff my mans just a word of advice. Next time clean it off outside easier clean up afterward lol. Keep having fun your doing a great job be safeish!
Mom and Dad buy a property and BONUS, you get a barn full of toys! Best way to learn, hands on and go give it a try!
Thank you for sharing.👍
