Hi Skatz, thanks for another great video, the one thing I cant seem to find an answer to is, if you hold a UK passport but have residency in Spain do you still need to apply for ETIAS. Thanks my friend
So, as a UK passport holder with a Spanish TIE, I know I can exit and enter Spain without ETIAS. However, I've read that under the WA agreement I don't need ETIAS to enter another EU country, let's say Portugal. However, my TIE is NOT under the WA, and I can't find any info if this makes a difference. Therefore, what rules apply if I want to travel to Portugal, etc, with my Spainsh TIE without WA status?

Well, this is refreshing!👍🏼 I was expecting another "I live in Spain but I'm British and voted Brexit!" video, but no... a good explainer, thank you (oh, I'm a dual-national so I don't have a horse in this race, but excellent stuff nonetheless!).
Hello, wonderful vedio, i have a question, Does EES sytem applies withing schengen area for non EU citizens but holds a valid resident permit? For example do i have to go through EES system if i travel France to Portugal?
EES will only be in place when you cross in or out of the Schengen area, but it’s in place at every airport. However, anyone with residency in the EU will just have their card scanned at border control as it has all of their biometric data on it.
@@youtoospain so traveling within schengen area like from Germany to france there is NO boarder or EES system? Its only applicable only who is coming in or out of the schengen are is that i got right? Sir
The ETIAS system does not apply to Algeria? What about the procedures at the airport, fingerprints and photos? Are they only for countries like Britain... or for all travelers? Thanks my friend.
This may be a very stupid question so apologises in advance but I have both a UK and Irish passport. I am assuming I don’t need to apply as long as I always travel on my Irish one and not the UK one? Great videos as always 😊
ETIAS is only for non-EU citizens and/or residents. Leave your UK passport at home, it’s hardly worth having one unless you’re travelling outside of Europe.
Have a look at the first comment I’ve pinned that asks the same question about ETIAS (the same rules apply to the EES). My reply to the question has a link to an official website about it so you know it’s the correct information.
I have Dutch residence permit but I am non European. Will EES also apply for me if I travel from Netherlands to Portugal? For example will they stamp on my passport and take my biometric to record the entry exit?
Hi mate I have an Irish passport but my wife doesn’t do we need this I know I don’t as I’m an eu citizen with my Irish passport. Another question I haven’t used my Irish passport yet I assume my wife can enter the faster lane when entering Spain as long as she’s with me can you clarify please 👍
Your brother won’t be affected by EES or ETIAS because he has EU residency. He only needs to abide by Portugal’s rules of how long he can remain outside of Portugal without losing his right to the permanent residency. And there could be tax implications to his working and living in Italy too, depending on how long he stays there.
EES has been delayed...who would have guessed? So it won't start Nov. 10, 2024. France, Germany, and the Netherlands' computers aren't ready. These 3 countries account for 40% of the EES traffic. 🤔
I have Croatia Trc card. Can i go France and stay long time ?if i go before 10 nov ,can i stay there forever or i need to come back croatia before 90 days?
I don’t know what a TRC card is, but if it’s a residency card, then you’re not bound by anything to do with the EES or ETIAS systems. They’re for non-EU citizens without EU residency. Regardless of that, the 10th Nov isn’t a cut off point for moving around the EU. Now, if you intend to move to France to live and work there and you don’t have EU citizenship or permanent long term EU residency, you’ll need to apply to the French consulate in the country you’re living (presumably Croatia) for a visa.
ETIAS is nothing compared with visa applications that take your time, money and energy. 90 Euros for 15 days in 1 month single entry, this if you're lucky enought to avoid a refusal.
Lol. It’s only €7 for 3 years and it’s better security, so I don’t think it’s a bad thing at all though. And who goes on holiday on November 10th? I can’t see the queues being all that big. Christmas travel will be when it hits the news maybe.

Glad you liked it.
As an EU resident you won’t need ETIAS, and your TIE holds your biometric info.

Use your Irish passport and you won’t need to do anything. ETIAS is for non-EU citizens and/or residents.

Do you know what happens for people who are in Spain when ETIAS comes in? Do we have to apply while there or only when we come back next time?
