I have a few questions. 1. How important is disconnecting the battery? 2. Will that cable by the 2nd nvme ssd slot cause a problem, or can I just nudge it a little and slot my ssd in? 3. After upgrading both my ram and ssd, will my laptop boot to the lock screen as normal (and work as normal), or will I be met with a different screen or have to go through BIOS?
i tried installing ssd the same way in the same model but my ssd in not showing in disk management or either create or format disk , i am using crucial 3.0 nvme m.2 ssd . can you help
hey im planning to upgrade my Acer nitro with Kingston HyperX FURY/Beast 8GB 3200mhz and a Silicon Power NVMe PCIe Gen3x4 M.2 2280 SSD 512Gb do you think this is suitable? thanks alot
Personally, if the machine is off. I will install ram/ storage But some people have accidentally fried stuff when not disconnecting the battery when installing
@@deanshaw6588I would think the time to ask that question is before you bought it. But most likley as long the only issue might be if the heatsink takes up too much space.
Hey is the Kingston FURY Renegade SSD 1TB compatible? I just bought it thinking it is, and i really do hope so. + What's the safest way to remove and plug the battery cable back in?
Can i ask what kind of screwdriver are you using in removing the screw for the ssd slot? I recently open mine but when i try to use my screwdriver it wont turn, i'm currently using a philip screwdriver but it wont bite the screw is there some kind of specific size that i need for my screwdriver? (It's my first time so opening a laptop so im not familiar)
Hello! I know absolutely nothing about computers and I am trying to upgrade my own Acer laptop. Does this give the computer more storage space, and does it need to be that exact make and model of SSD? Or could I purchase a similar one off Amazon? Thanks ♥️
Hello, can you guys tell me the reference of the SSD that can added to the Acer 515-55 ? Or also the one you added there in the video if it's a good one ? Thank you very much ! :)
Wow! That's cool! I never even knew that the Nitro 5 could hold an M2 in addition to an extra 2.5 inch SSD! One question! Does every model of NItro 5 have the slot for the NVM? (Mine is AN515-55WL)
So i have this laptop an i always kept it plugged in while playing an then it just blackscreened an shows no signs of life? Should i try disconnecting battery an play plugged in or is it something else?
I just put a second m.2 in my Nitro 5 as shown here. When it's in place, I get a "no bootable devices" screen. When I remove it, the computer boots as normal. Any guesses on what's going wrong?

which slot are you putting them in to? if you only have the new ssd installed and no other drive, you do actually need to install windows 10/11 on a usb after you put it in

1. defnitley diconnect the battery just to be safe! 2. if you need to move it then nudge it with care! 3.Should boot straight to lock screen.

Why can’t I unscrew where the NVME is ? Is needed a special kit ?
i use a 000 phillips head screw driver

Yes it can give you more space
Don't need to be the same model
is it possible to install 2 ssd and 1 hdd at the same time in that board
yes
Hello, can you guys tell me the reference of the SSD that can added to the Acer 515-55 ? Or also the one you added there in the video if it's a good one ? Thank you very much ! :)
i used a teamGroup Mp33 nvme ssd
I have the same laptop … do you think a heat sink of some sort is necessary on the new drive or is the laptop cooling sufficient ?
depends on what model exactly of nvme drive you got to install

most recent ones do, i think yours should
Bro which screw drive u used to remove that ssd screw on the motherboard ?
Small phillips head
Good day, do I need to format/install windows on the new SSD or is there any other process that I need to do to get it working?
yes you will need to format the new drive
go to "Disk Management"
So i have this laptop an i always kept it plugged in while playing an then it just blackscreened an shows no signs of life? Should i try disconnecting battery an play plugged in or is it something else?
i would open it up
disconnect the battery and try and power it straight off the charger cable
Hey. What about a heatsink? Where is it?
black metal with the fans attached to it
Do we have to remove the battery, or can we just leave it in?
Shouldn't have to remove but would recommend to disconnect when upgrading parts
Is it gen3 or gen 4 pcie that i should be using as a drive ?
i think this model is Gen 3 but a gen 4 will work

sounds like its trying to boot of the nvme with nothing on it
Maybe switch NVMe Slots
@@rickstechrepairs thanks for the response, I actually tried that just last night, but it didn't help.
If you load into your BIOS you can check the boot order and adjust it.
Can i install NVme Samsung Pro 980 2TB version?
That should be fine
Why without heatsink?
not all ssds need a heat sink
I did all of this but I can’t use the drive it still pops up in my task manager whats wrong?
go to disk management and format it
I installed it but I went to my file explorer to check it but it is only showing the one drive not my new onwt
right click on the windows icon (bottom left or center if windows 11)
Select Disk Management
should pop up asking for format drive
@@rickstechrepairs thank you I got it working perfectly
excellent
