I have the 17.3 inch version of this laptop with the 90 watt battery, but it doesn’t have the extra ssd drive bay due to the longer battery. I added 64gb of ddr5, 4800. I cloned and replaced the factory 512gb nvme with a 2tb, black western digital sn850 nvme. I added another western digital sn750 1tb nvme to the second slot until my other 2tb nvme western digital black sn850 comes in. This machine now with 3tb of nvme and 64gb ram runs really well. The video card included is the rtx 4050 6gb ram. I know the manufacturer list up to 32gb, but I researched it on a ram site and found out that it will except 64. I bought crucial fury ram to be on the safe side. The 64gb of ram was only $80 more than the 32gb ram. The laptop came with 16gb of ddr5. My use for the ram is video editing, photography and some gaming, but the games won’t touch this much ram.
I appreciate your comment, I read it only accepted up to 32 gb of ram but seeing how you said you've added 64 just made me change back to 64 gb like I wanted. It already came with 1 tb so Im going to add an extra 2 tb in there. Last thing I'm confused about because I've never upgraded laptops I bought before, is that big slot. I want to get something for that slot too. I don't know what the use of it is but whatever it is. I want to get it.
@@eliacinquincy a lot of the Nitro 5’s are the same with some variations. As an example the big slot that you are talking about, mine doesn’t have, especially if it is a big square spot with a silver plate next to the battery like in the video, this would be for a regular square sized ssd. My battery is a larger capacity 90 watts and takes up that whole space because it is longer. My laptop doesn’t support a regular ssd, only Nvme, which looks like ram sticks. If you are going to take laptop apart and I’m not saying you should or shouldn’t, your call since you haven’t done it, a company call (I fix it) makes tool kits with the plastic clips that look like guitar picks, especially made for taking apart the backs of laptops without causing damage along with other useful screw bits and tools, but again your call, no promotions here, it’s what I use. If you are going to do this, I would say go to TH-cam and watch the laptop tear download videos of your exact model like this one over again until you feel confident. Make sure to have a large enough space to work and keep track of your screws for the laptop and there positioning. Good luck and yes mine is working fine with both Nvme and the 64 gigs of ram. Mine only came with 512 gig of hard drive space and 16 gigs of DDR5 ram, so I had to upgrade it. I also found the ram cheap enough for it to make sense to do it and my laptop runs great. If your laptop looks exactly like the one in this video then you can add tons of hard drive space with the regular ssd and extra Nvme, again good luck with what ever you decide.
Great videos! I have an Acer Nitro AN515-55-53AG, I’d like to upgrade the Memory and SSD, could it handle the Corsair vengeance ddr4 3000Mhz vs the 2400Mhz?
great video friend, it helped me a lot to dismantle my laptop. I only have one doubt; I put a new Kingston Impact brand 8GB RAM stick on it and when trying to boot with both slots occupied, the screen does not turn on. If I just put a memory stick there is no problem. I think it's because both sticks are not the same? or does it simply not support 16 gb of ddr5? Any help or opinion is welcome. thank you so much
just bought a hp victus 15 ryzen 5 7535hs and geforce rtx 2050 144hz installed corsair vengence 32gb 4800mhz and a sk hynix platium p41 2tb gen 4 nvme this is fast read 7000 mb/s write 6400 mb/s watched a few videos on how to open they had me worried on opening this up only have one hand this was so easy to open, thanks for your video, tips
Thank you for video! I have pretty much same laptop but with 8 gb ram. When i added another one 8gb laptop started random restart and i have no clue what to do..
Did you use the same speed am as the factory stick? Could be a buggy stick of ram too. You can remove the one you put in to see if the problem goes away .
@@CadillacComputerCenter yeah, i used exactly the same ram (M425R1GB4BB0-CQKOL), when i pulled one out everything works same as before. It's sad because I don't want just throw one out.
I got a dumb question, of what use is adding more RAM? Would this improve performance for gaming? I just recently purchased the exact same model and I liked to add more storage but after watching the video, Im wondering if I should add more RAM while Im at it.
Yea adding ram will slightly increase performance as long as it’s rated faster than what you already have, more ram helps with keeping large maps etc loaded.
I have an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-51-55WL and can't find the right m.2 ram for it. Can someone help! I've bought 3 from Crucial/Amazon and returned them all because after installing, I get the message " no bootable device. "
if i didnt hear it wrong you said to remove the battery but you said it before the ram upgrade im only gonna add a second ssd do i need to dissconnect that tape? please somone answe

What size screwdriver did you use to open the ram cover? I’ve tried all my screwdrivers but none fit! Thanks
I use a #0
I believe the keyboard is a full 4 zone RGB. Atleast, in my unit it is. And the most notable thing about it would be the 95w 3050 gpu.
