Thanks a lot. I have this laptop and i got a SATA SSD. Also my laptop has 512 GB micron nvme ssd, so it is not enough at all. I started installing and all of a sudden, i realized there is nothing to connect the SSD. Thanks to you, i remembered there is cables in box 😂
I just got the i5 version today and am pretty happy, was testing things out and turned the fans up to max and I thought this thing was going to take off like a drone, really impressed with acer on these even though my last gaming laptop was in like 2015 lol

Just bought it last week, i gotta say it is very worth it
They were selling this model in India with a slightly better 3070ti GPU and a somewhat slower processor , the 12650h , also they cut corners with storage and halved it to 1tb but i guess it works as it all came to around a 1250$ package which is still pretty decent. The display was the same 1440p with 15.6 inches.
Mine is i5 12th gen variant, I hope you have a vid on how to remove the fans for cleanin i would appreciate it sir.

Awesome video - I just bought the Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58 - with 1TB, and 16gb ram (came at a good price as i wanted a 4060 card) - and was worried about storage expansion. Your video has calmed my fears! Especially considering I've already filled up a third of my SSD already on games xD

I also reinstalled windows and got an extra hour of battery life.

I got a question though I installed a 2nd SSD but it bends a little. Am I missing something or should I loosen the screw a bit?

Great video! Sp, I have this gaming laptop in my cart. Comes with 16gb of RAM and the 512GB Gen 4 SSD.
I also have an external 2TB to install my games on.
How will this handle games like Spiderman? Undisputed boxing game? Call of Duty? Forza, etc?
Based on my knowledge, it should do WELL.

How to take off the back part
Is there a difference in which PCIE M2 slot to insert a high-speed SSD? Simply, M2#1 is called PCIE, but M2#2 is called PCIE/SATA. Won't the M2#2 slot have a lower SSD speed?

Hi, where can I change the options so I have 2 separate drives (one for system and the other for the rest of stuff)? Thank you for the video.
Unfortunately acer does not provide this option inside the bios, my workaround is to use 2 separate sized ssd’s then the system will default to separating and breaking the RAID. Thanks for watching.
When buying another ram stick to upgrade, what ram specs do we look for to match the existing ram stick installed in the acer nitro 5?
Just match the specs in the description of your existing ram, you can google it.
I love this laptop fr. I had an Asus the newest and best I had the a few others and I just love the Acer nitro 5 4050. Laptop is so great I've had no problems at all playing any game, streaming, uploading content, downloading. And u can upgrade so many things I love it. I'll always have one now

What the maximum amount of storage you can do in this laptop ,can the 1tb nvme m.2 be extended to 2tb each and a 2tb 2.5inch ssd so a total of 6tb ,is this possible
You can do 2x 4TB in theory.
So what if someone put a Samsung Evo 4 tb SSD and then 2x 2tb m.2 with heatsinks ..so in theory that would be okay
good video, just one question; A few days ago I bought the one with an i5 and the RTX 2050, it came with 8 GB of ddr5 ram but when I put another 8 GB ddr5 stick on it it doesn't boot, I don't know if I have to change to ddr4 to accept the 16 GB?
Ram has to match, try swapping slots sometimes this works and sometimes it takes 30 seconds or more to POST.
I found ddr5 in mine so I should look for compatible ddr5 ram right?
It comes with an 8GB ddr5 by default, so I don't see why it doesn't work when you put another stick with the same specs on it :(
Some ram isn’t compatible, use the ones on my Amazon links they work.
Hello! I really appreciate this video! I just have 1 question, the one I bought came just with 1 SSD 500gb if I want to add the second one of 1 TB that I bought should I also install again windows or do anything in particular? I am not removing anything just adding a new one
If you install a second drive you can keep the 500gb as a primary drive which will have windows or you can reinstall windows on the second drive or thirdly clone over the data to the new drive. You have a few options… thanks for watching

One day I plugged in the charger and charging suddenly stopped working and when I now plug in the charger the charging light blinks once as soon as i plugged it and then goes off
Might be the power brick, try getting a replacement on Amazon.

You don't have to plug out the battery since you're just upgrading your Ram and ssd

The same happened to me! I did everything and doesn’t work… I’m really sad with that, notebook don’t even recognize SSD at BIOS (I tried with my WD SN570 blue).

If you’re not going to do raid, you can have different size SSDs. This shouldn’t void warranty.

You should always unplug the battery regardless of what you are doing. It is easy to short out

What model CPU? CPUs have a base clock and a boost clock.

Hello sir, I have the same laptop with the i7 version and there is a 512 GB NVME Gen 4 SSD built into the laptop, I have also added another 512 GB HDD (I know this is a shame but the HDD is from my old laptop 😅) in the SATA slot So, can I add a 2TB NVME Gen 4 SSD in the second remaining slot? Is there an impact if SSD slots 1 and 2 are different in size?. The problem is my storage is already in the red and I intend to just add 2 TB (if possible) 😅

Hi! I have the same issue and same configuration, didn’t really fix it but I found that when you turn on performance mode for fans, it doesn’t crash, so that’s probably overheating.

hi! so i have this same model as you, recently i bought new SSD (ADATA Legend 710) for my 2nd SSD slot, when i install it, my laptop didn't detect the SSD, Disk management also didn't detect my SSD, but my BIOS detect the SSD. can help?
I had the same issue, you need to contact acer and have them ship you a usb recovery drive which will contain the storage drivers necessary to reinstall windows.

Hey i have acer nitro with i7 12650h 3070ti.....and the thermals are really bad its touching 100⁰ C what should i do
Normally you would add a heat sink. In your case all you can do is add thermal tape. Likely .5mm. Hopefully the backplate has a metal shield on the inside (I think it does) to conduct the heat away via the thermal tape, as that is why they had heat tape on the single chip of each M.2 drive.

Okay, but why didn't mention that?
first of all, you need to remove the plastic panel behind the screen (if you will skip this step this is going to be a pain to remove the bottom panel)
secondly, why the hell on earth do you never disassemble the battery? never ever do anything inside the laptop with a plagued in battery. one wrong move with a screwdriver and you may kill your motherboard. especially, when you making an upgrade installing ram/hdd/ssd.

Make sure you match the ram speed, then you should be ok

Hi, can i use HDD 2.5 Instead of SSD for additional Storage?
you really should at the very least unplug the battery when doing stuff like this; wearing latex gloves is advised too i guess
you can short components (motherboard for instance) though by not unplugging the battery... drop something on the board like a screw (happened to someone i know), ram stick or in your case, an ssd drive and you can really fuck something up
accidents happen and in this case, it's something that is so easily avoidable by literally just unplugging a cable

@@305TechOfficial most of the benchmark review of this laptop show the multicore score in cinebench r23 to reach atleast Or above 14k and timespy score of 11k above. My unit barely touches 12k sometimes in cinbench and is always under 10k in timespy with max fan and even in performance mode of nitrosense. This is making me question if I should refund as I brought this model few days ago.

Another one...why the frk are you not installing thermal tape. It is absolutely required to ensure the drive doesn't throttle. It is why they had thermal tape on the old drive, but now you have more chips to cool. Also, no one should be buying double sided m.2 drives for installs like this as you will never cool the other side. o.O

Build quality is the same as other Acer Models, I think it’s OK and it reflects on the weight of the laptop.
