    Great review. very honest. I bought these shoes for light runs on pavement and trails and they seem to be super capable and comfortable all at the same time. On my long runs I wear Brooks Cascadia 16's

    Hi
    Just popped into my local New Balance outlet and was drawn to a pair of these.
    I don't need any trail shoes,I have too many running shoes,but these look attractive,they are also £57.
    Tempting.....

    As far as heat as a concerned . I have used them in Death Valley 47C , Red Rock Canyon 40C , Mojave Desert 42C, and heat has not been an issue from the shoes. I live by Sequoia National Park and it’s between 36 and 43C, 4 months out the year and heat is not a problem. Being in a dry area rocks have been an issue maybe twice in the last 2 yrs of using the Hierro and it was more about me placing my foot where I shouldn’t of and overall I’d say the shoe is good for dealing with rocks in the toe area. I use the wide version since the standard version is too narrow for me.

      This is great info as I’m planning on using these shoes in Kenya. Thanks for your insights and I am so jealous of where you live! I’ve never been to Sequoia National Park, but it looks incredible!

    Speedgoats 😂 Looks like you've got some comfy new trail shoes there mate. When you wobbled off the log I was thinking you needed some New Balance....

    I trimmed the heel flippers off of mine with utility shears and it looks like a normal heel now.

      Great idea 💪

      @@CraigWilliamsUltra It functions like a normal running shoe. I saw no need for the heel flipper. Just kept tripping over it and it made descending stairs tricky

    Flappy bit, I’ve heard it helps with downhill running and some say mud guard “prevent kicking mud back onto your back legs”? Great content

      Thanks, Michael. I can see how those would be a benefit.

    Hi craig thank you for you review. Got a question does this have a arch support? i am flat feet

    • @CraigWilliamsUltra
      @CraigWilliamsUltra  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is a little arch support. I have flat feet too and I don't like lots of support as it hurts my feet. Sometimes I have to take the insoles out of shoes, but I don't with these. Hope that helps?

    Compared to merrel which is more durable Nd comfortable for trail running ?

    • @CraigWilliamsUltra
      @CraigWilliamsUltra  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love the Merrels. They’re very lightweight and robust and I would go for them especially if conditions are wet and muddy.
      I picked these because of the extra cushioning on longer compacted ground and stretches of road. Hope this helps?
