I personally love the Magic Mouse. I just picked up a first generation one on OfferUp for 15 bucks. I intentionally got the first generation one so I don’t have to charge it. I’ll just alternate between rechargeable batteries.
I use the Apollo Solo. It doesn’t officially support M1 yet, but Universal Audio promises qualification is coming. Incredible interface. Very well-built. No hardware design flaws that I uncovered. Sounds great. Flexible. The software that drives it is decent.
Finally someone in love with the apple keyboard. Mechanical keyboards are super fancy but difficult to type quickly on. Apple keyboard has a very short distance of the key when pressed.
Can you do a budget version? I do a lot of photo and video editing for work but I'm still a student on a budget. Thanks so much for the work you do, I love your content and your personality! Can't wait for the next video :)
When you do editing and add apple to the equation don’t think you can do a budget version. Apple Mac mini m1 256gb 16gb ram £800 (10% student discount) Samsung monitor with 1mil contrast or similar - £150 Keyboard and mouse - £40 off Amazon (mechanical chunky keyboard) but you might want to supplement with the Apple trackpad which can be bought for around £100 XL gaming mat (dimensions vary) - £10 off eBay External hard drive - western brand - can pick a 2tb for £50-70...you can spend £600-800 to upgrade via Apple for 1/2tb but it’s not worth it personally...especially if you take periodic backups via time machine Can just about get above £1K Dongle - £10-15
My friend, I'm looking for the best keyboard and mouse option for the mac mini m1..the use I make mainly of logic pro X and a bit of video editing..Which keyboard and mouse do you think is the best choice for me? I've heard that the mac mini m1 has some problems with the bluetooth connection and for this reason I was thinking of getting the magic keyboard and the magic mouse that are from apple..Do you think that the mx keys and the mx master 3 are a better choice? In the long run they are just as reliable like the apple keyboard and the magic mouse? Do they have connectivity issues or are they compatible like the apple?
Dude is so excited about the products that I am sold on the idea that he uses them everyday. I don't want to know the truth. This level of excitement about your everyday gear is frankly rare on TH-cam. Nice dude!
Hey mate, great video as always! I have ordered the MacBook Pro M1 as the main video editing machine (for now). I almost bought a 16" pro in October for double the price. I am glad i didn't. Do you think they will produce a more powerful Mac Mini next year, eventually with the M1x M2 chip? It would be great to have a more powerful Mini alongside with my Macbook Pro.
Hi ! I’m a long time fan of u and I’m seriously considering buying the Mac mini m1! I currently run a gaming channel off of iPhone 11 editing and a 200 $ windows laptop for gaming . What do u think ? Shall I get it ? Ur so awesome dude ! Thank you so much
i have an older imac pro, life goes on and now some programs don't work on this IOS so I am thinking on buying a M1 MAC Mini to upgrade. Do you know if I can connect them so I don't have to buy another monitor? thank you for taking the time to answer me.
Hey dang you a similar setup as mine. I got a LG34GK950-F and an M1 Mac mini. You will want a display port 1.4 cable though if you want 144Hz VRR and HDR (at least I believe for your model).
Please I have a question Should I let my new iPad Pro uncharged until the battery is totally empty and then charge it for the first time ? Is this a real thing or not cuz some people say yes and others say no.
Feel the same way about mech keyboards... It's like I'm having to work to type. The Login MX keys board I use is very similar to a Magic Keyboard, it's effortless and quiet.
So I bought the base model with the 256gb so I know that’s not a lot so if I buy the Samsung t7 2tb I can edit my video off that ? Instead of using the 256gb
Can use Logitech MK235 combo for M1 Mac Mini? (I bought M1 Mac mini last week but 1 need choose affordable kb & mise) (MK235's Command , control , function key's shortcuts n tips work properly in mac os???)
Now you can get the magic keyboard with Touch ID for the M1 Mac Mini. I picked up one with the numeric keypad at Best Buy yesterday, and I strongly recommend it!
I picked up an M1 mac mini last week because video editing (premiere pro) was horrific on a brand new specked out Dell laptop that I was forced to return. This M1 is buttery smooth (even though premiere pro isn't optimized for m1) and I got an open box M1 $90 off! ✊🤘. I picked up a logitech mouse, affordable and we'll made keyboard (k780) , and an asus monitor and it's gold🤙 I also edit with the same lacie external.
Sick video! Question: Do you connect your speakers directly to the monitor or to the Mac mini? Also, is there a quality audio difference if connected via bluetooth, airplay, aux 3.5mm, or usb?
My original MX Master seems to be working ok for a while on my MacBook Air M1, but suddenly some of the buttons will not trigger the assigned functions on the Logi Options software. This seems to happen when I am running a RAM intensive application like Lightroom. When I use Lightroom I don't run any other intensive apps as I only have 8GB. It works perfectly on my 2014 MacBook Pro, so it's not the mouse. I've uninstalled the software and installed it again several times, tried with bluetooth and the unifying receiver and the behavior is the same. It seems that Logitech has not updated their software to be compatible with Apple Silicone.
In the process of ordering a M1 Mac mini. Would you suggest upgrading the internal SSD or buying an external SSD. Price is not all that different but the external is slightly cheaper
Yeah I plan on buying the 16gb of ram regardless not that I ever think I’ll need it. Just didn’t know if I should buy the internal ssd upgrade at the same time or spend it down the road on an external. The more I look at it the more I think I should go 512gb internal and a 1 TB external
I’m not sure if you’re mainly video or what but I was curious how that screen compares to the 5k iMac. That’s what I’ve been using for years for my photography business and I’m lost right now trying to find a new set up for my incoming Mac mini. Thanks I’m advance for any info!
Can you please compare the 24” iMac and the Mac mini Can you make a Mac mini into a chesper iMac? I’ve been looking and can’t find a cheaper TV/Computer 2 in 1
Totally agree about a mechanical keyboard being tiring to type on! Switched from a Keychron K2 to Logi MX Keys and it is much easier to type :) K2 now is for occasional gaming.
Presonus gear is fine for what you're trying to accomplish. Like most speakers that are designed to be studio monitors, they aren't really made to be audiophile style speakers for listening to music. I have a pair of older Alesis monitors in my studio and a pair of Mackies at the house, but I've used the Presonus ones once or twice and especially for video they sound fine.
Cost of the Mini is cheap, but just the monitor is $1000. I know this isn’t a budget video, but if anyone wants a budget option skip the Mini and go for the iPad Pro with the keyboard case, Apple Pencil, and SD card hub. The iPad has a great screen and you’ll save money on not having to buy all those accessories. I personally hate being chained to a desk to edit and I can take my work with me anywhere. I actually love editing with the pencil and I the flexibility to edit on a long plane ride for example is a huge plus. You really don’t need so much gear to create great content. I’d rather spend money on camera gear. Just my opinion if you’re not doing high budget pro commercial work.
Thank you for the review. Would you tell me can I connect usb-A-keyboard (lenovo legion) and mouse with mac mini m1 with no adapter and would be it work?
Does the Mac mini drive the display on at its full refresh rate of 144hz? I haven’t found much info on driving higher refresh rate displays on Macs with M1 chips and am really curious 😊
I ordered the docking station that fits right under the Mac mini. It’ll be a while before it arrives from China, but I managed to buy one the same color as the M1 Mac mini. It’ll be especially great since my upcoming Mac mini will only have 256 GB of storage. Having both a dock and external storage in one device, all in a clean looking setup makes this accessory one of the best for a Mac mini. As for other accessories, I’ll use the solar powered Logitech K760 and the MX Anywhere 2.
