    For those that want to know the gap required for the spark plugs. It's 0.043.
    Your Welcome.

    • @christianstewart62
      @christianstewart62 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You shouldn't be running anything but high end plugs. Most likely platinum or iridium. Don't try to gap these they come preset, gapping them will damage the ends. Also I believe the gap is 0.044

    • @SilverlonewolfX
      @SilverlonewolfX 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Christian Stewart Well NGK Iridium is ideal. Platinum is overkill. On the Z forums they all said 0.043. The NGK iridiums I got are not gap at but around 0.043. Keep in mind a Z's compression ratio is 10;1. That's very tight space.

      gentleman gentleman, what is the best metal used to conduct electricity? no better spark plugs in a copper spark plug.

    • @pellergin
      @pellergin 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Kevin A - Allard Automotive Industries
      Gold is the best conductor, after silver, but unlike silver, it doesn't oxidize.

    • @KA-tr2mm
      @KA-tr2mm 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No absolutely not, the only element that is better for conducting electricity is sterling silver. Followed by copper then gold. Copper is used in electronic applications because it's cheap. Gold is used in applications where corrosion may be a problem. Neither gold, iridium or platinum are necessary.
      Take a 2005 Chevrolet Ecotech install regular copper spark plugs and you will notice a huge increase in power and fuel efficiency. The factory calls for platinum plugs. With copper plugs you get a better spark better fuel combustion better power and better gas mileage.

    I use to own a 2004 350z and sold it to save up and buy a 370z which I did. I use to love working on my 350z everything was pretty easy to get to. Now the 370z completely different story its a pain in the ass.

    Thanks! I'm not standing in front of mine, but as I recall, the back ones looked like a major pain to get to... how bad is it?
    I'm trying to figure out what's going on with mine... occasionally, when it's cold, cylinder #1 stops firing. It usually clears up and purrs like a kitten once it warms up... trying to figure out if it might just be coils or plugs (2004, 67K miles).

    Good vid bro.. so I have a 2004 350z. It's having problems starting .. it will start but it takes a couple of tries .. when I turn the key it will crank (at regular speed) but it won't start... 3-4 tries later eventually it starts .. I was thinking it might be the spark plugs but I'm not sure.. what do you think?

    • @motorvehiclereviewsbycarlo5375
      @motorvehiclereviewsbycarlo5375  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! And yea it could be that your spark plugs are wore out and its not causing a great enough spark, or its gonna be that your fuel injectors are clogged up and you're not getting enough fuel right away till after a few cranks. By the way fuel injectors are located under the lower manifold of your 350z so it takes longer to change then spark plugs, if you need help email me saavedrac1165@gmail.com

    • @luigi999ish
      @luigi999ish 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey bud. Your car could have any number of problems. Your spark plugs,depending on millage of course,isn't one of them. Coil on plug systems are extremely reliable,so the chances the plugs being what's wrong are slim. Take the car to a shop and have them do a check up. Don't let them trick you into buying double tip plugs or coils or even do any plug that isn't close to OEM unless your running a rune on your car. Only time you really need double tip is on waste spark systems. You could have any number of problems ranging from the idle control system to a problem with the timing. Cps and ckp sensors can be a bitch on certain cars. Also,make surr you have someone look at your DTS codes and see if anything pops up. While the video is a good idea,i wouldn't take what the guy did as the correct way to go about doing this procedure. Make sure you always consult professionals before doing this type of thing.

      So I took it to Midas for a diagnostic and they told me it came back with a DAPS error code, and the guy told me it was a security problem dealing with the chip in my key.. he suggested I take it to Nissan and get a new key made and programmed.. (that was a waste of $85) so I took it to Nissan and had the keys made and programmed for the car $260 parts and labor, and it didn't work.. so I had Nissan run their diagnostic $150 and they said it was my relay ... I said eff it, just fix it.. so they replaced it .. $450 parts and labor.. so now the car starts first try every time..

    my 06 350z is having issues starting up when its cold out. and when it does start it makes rattling noises from first gear all the way to sixth although it get quieter near sixth it stilll rattles. it also rattles more when im engine breaking in low gears. could it be spark plug issues? it has 80k miles on it...and i never done a spark plug replacement on it.

    • @soulchain247

    • @garyfontenot2786

      +Jesse Martinez Another reason I don't own a Nissan product. You need to have it repaired soon to prevent ignition arcing, resulting in having to replace primary ignition insulators, and secondary ignition plugs. The tube seals on the valve cover are likely leaking. On most Nissan you can't just get a gasket. It is molded into the valve cover and you have to buy the whole valve cover. I will highly recommend a licensed, insured, and certified repair facility perform the repair. Enjoy your Nissan. I'll enjoy my Honda and Toyota products.

      Gary Fontenot To perform a valve cover gasket leak you dont need to take the car to a license insured certified repair shop. All you have to remove is the intake plenum and some other accessories it looks like. Ive replaced the Valve cover gaskets on my Dodge Stealth r/t (3000gt sl) and these cars have absolutely NO WORKING ROOM. These 350z’s seem a lot more simpler to work on with more working room

Its a great video for the typical DIY car person with not that many tools. Not everybody has a torque wrench. A simple ratchet gets the job done if you know what your doing. Btw if anybody saw your comment, torque specs 15-21 ft-lb (180-252 in-lb)
