Yeah, I’m not sure about this whole thing. It doesn’t seem very secure and with a toddler in the house, I would be afraid that this whole thing could collapse.
You are such a talented builder! I am not exaggerating either. You have the patience to take the time to make your projects correctly. I could never do this. Impressive.
I’ve been thinking about building something like this and have been wondering if it would work! Thank you so much! You confirmed my concept actually had merit and could work!
Nifty idea! Have you thought about securing your ropes to the frame so they don't make incremental shifts in directions? Staple them to the frame or adding pegs to block from slipping off?
You’re amazing! 🤩 I think I would hang regular pots with macrame on it, so more would fit and not have the added weight of the crates. But it looks great like this too.
Becca, this is so cute!!!! If you wanted to make it extra planty you could wrap some spanish moss around it all drapey like or even faux vines or something? I love it either way!!! 😍😍😍
Oh gosh Becca that really looks so amazing and love the plants that you chose to place on it and you are always so good at all of these things you created. Thanks again, sending love and hugs, bye! 😂🥰😘🤗💜💜💜💜💜
Hi, I'm also really tired of taking down my hanging planters one by one 😩 This solves the problem beautifully! Just wondering here, if you don't want to worry about balancing the system and just put the plants in a single row like in this video, could you simply attach one board to the ropes instead of a ladder? Or if each corner had its own rope, that would probably also prevent it from tilting 🤔
I'm afraid. Like I think i would have substantial hook eye the rope to the corners of the frame or something locking the rope from not sliding off locking it in place to the frame. Then rope through so it was not going anywhere using a good camping knot so the rope was not going anywhere. My biggest fear is that its all based on balance and the rope on either side not slipping.Like if one side moves while your raising or lowering it will all slide out the other side on you and you or anyone with you would be in the crossfire.
this would be kinda cuckoo kinda crazy but hear me OUT !!!! i love mounted staghorn ferns so i’m thinking what if you mount one so it can be viewed from underneath ??? basically the staghorn would be hanging upside down !? I HOPE THAT MAKES SENSE
Looks great. All I would be worried about is the ropes sliding off the edges of the ladder. I would secure it somehow
I agree, I would put metal hooks in the four corners for the rope to attach to, rather than looping rope around the whole fixture.
Eye bolts into the wood would work.
Looks fabulous. You could notch the wood where the ropes rest so the ladder won’t slide.

I was thinking about notching!
Becka, such a brilliant idea! Looks great, I would love to know how it holds up over time. You rock!

Mmm, I do not have the brain to come up with things like this!! 🤣🤣 this is creative and great.
It took many months and soo many drawings hahahaah

I love this idea! I imagine pothos and such growing up and around the ladder! Such an original and inspiring idea! ❤🌱🍃

Good work! Handy, you are! But it does not seem safe.

How many screws per pulley and how long are they? I'm nervous. 😳
3” construction screws, 3 per pulley! And screwed into the joists!
It looks like its lower towards the left
