I actually have this *exact* DVD and I even did a walkthrough on all three menus of it last month.
I only own a burnt CD of this. Not as bad as a myriad of others interpret despite rehashing A New Hope.
Having the DVD menu be set in a different area from the film each time you boot it up is such a fun concept.
I've only ever seen the technology used on the Star Wars DVDs and that Japanese DVD of Brave Story, I believe. It's some sort of very simple random number generation, as far as I know, which is why you can get the same variant over and over again. DVD players are not very smart computers, the most intricate part of them is either the way they do CSS decryption or the MPEG-2 decoder.
I wonder why this film took 18 months to get it’s DVD release. It could’ve came out the same time as its VHS counterpart, heck, even its Japanese laserdisc release.
Do those DVD menus play at random or how do they work?
They actually do appear at random whenever you put the disc in.
@@CJBStudios I've been made aware that you can select one of three by pressing 1-3 on your remote during the menu intro animation, or was it the FBI warning?
Either way, you apparently can select the menu you're looking for... I found this out only after recording all six discs for a number of hours, having to cycle the disc _many_ times.
@@homevideogallery Huh, I didn’t know you could select one of them with a remote control. Maybe I should try that now that you bring it up.
