Thanks for the help. First time adding memory for me. A couple of things for a total newbie. Dell's website only gives only gives you part of the information to help get the right memory card for your 3593. Depending on the hardware, there were two speeds for mine. I bought Crucial DDR4-2666, 8GB. Check you bios for the correct speed (2666 was the correct choice for me). Also, Crucial's tool recommends putting 2 16GB cards into the machine. Dell says the max is 16GB of ram. The 8GB was about $40, if you buy from Dell it was over $80 not including shipping or taxes. No DVD drive on mine, I removed all of the screws from the bottom. They are different sizes, lay them out in the pattern taken out so you don't mix them up. I don't have the plastic pry tool. I very gently used a flat metal screw driver to open the gap wide enough to insert an old credit card and then slid the credit card along the edges to free the latches. It worked fine. On boot up, you get a message acknowledging the new RAM and an option to look at the bios.

Great help, hadn't ever added memory to a laptop before, excellent clear video, upgraded from 4Gb to 2x8Gb Crucial. All worked perfectly, thanks! (72, started working for IBM 1973, 1st customer had 32Kb Mainframe.. they ran an insurance company on it!)

After putting the ram, do we have to update or install or run any additional software, or just like plug and play the upgraded ram will start functioning?

My Dell Inspiron already has 8GB DDR4 (2666 MHz) RAM. Is it possible to add another 8GB DDR4 (3200 MHz) RAM with it?
I am worried that the difference in speed will not work properly with the laptop's CPU.

Yo la compré pensando que, por ser una i7-1065g7, iba a soportar lpddr4x.
    Qué pena.

Does your Dell 3593 laptop run really slow out of the box too? Mine is really slow, I think it must be the 4gb RAM it comes with. What do you think?
