As someone that was in the structural steel world for 20 years and on many commercial job sites through those years, I sincerely take my hat off to you both. When you first stated on a prior video that you were going to do this project yourselves I thought oh boy, best of luck! And also suggested having a pad that big done by professionals. But not only did ya pull it off, you did a fantastic job! With in-floor radiant heat to boot. Not to mention the monumental task of erecting that steel. Said it once before but gonna say it again, you both have my respect. Take a bow cuz you earned it. On a side note, having hammer drilled my fair share of holes and pounding red redheads (as well as sleeve anchors), when Eric broke out that craftsman drill at the start of that large task I started giggling pretty good (been there too). We actually had an older model Bosch like the one you ended up getting (awesome tool BTW) as well as an even larger Milwaukee for bigger diameter redheads. Cheers to you both! Love your channel.
Dear Hubby & 2 teenage grandsons & i just put up a 30 x 40’ Q Hut this month for 5 days if not for our grandsons we would still be getting up all the panel’s Lol they were a tremendous help 🙏🏼👍💗💙🇺🇸💗👍🙏🏼💗👍🙏🏼. Dear hubby is 67, & I’m 64. We have watched almost all UT Q Hut builds, but yours is the one we watched for a month b4 it came & still going over the little details that helped us soooo much!!! THANK YOU FOR POSTING & SHARING YOUR JOURNEY WITH YOUR Q HUT!!!!🙏🏼 We are drilling 6” anchor screws & just bought the Bosch HD hammer drill, next we will get the cement mixer & have fun in the mud 😂😂😂😂😂😂 TKU Doug & kc
My husband Richard and I look forward to your videos each week! Thank you so very much for taking the time to set up all your camera shots taking us along with your journey. Also, a BIG THANK YOU for all the perfect editing you do. -We know it is HOURS AND HOURS :) We appreciate everything you do!! Keep up the GREAT work!! May God overwhelm you with blessings!!
This was epic! For me it was the most joyful episode to date, and I love that you're both letting more & more of yourselves shine through - I loved seeing the caring side of Eric towards Ariel, helping her up, and the ending was absolutely glorious 😊
That is probably the most massive job I've seen two people take on with basic machinery and hand tools, and with a little help from some friends at times. I bet it really does feel like it too. Congratulations!
I am still blown away with the photography of your videos. So much nicer to watch when you actually feel like your right there with you. Thanks so much for all your efforts😊
🤣 Petfect ending! 🤣 I applaud your hard work. 👏🏻👏🏻 Thanks for allowing us to hang out while you work on projects, I enjoy each adventure. 🤗 You are an amazing team. 🤗 Blessed week, be safe. Prayer huuugs. 💖💖💖
I think everyone who watches this video will be extremely proud of your efforts and results. You work hard and enjoy some levity along the way. Can't wait to see the two ends built. 👍👍👍
Having plugged a few vacuum filters in my day, I saw that outcome coming. You can buy prefilter bags for shop vacs, but cement dust is so fine that might not have helped either. Pouring, striking, floating and finishing that huge pad by yourselves was an incredible accomplishment. I can imagine you two standing back, looking at your immense utility building and saying, “Did we REALLY do that by ourselves? What were we THINKING?” It hardly seems possible, but you did, and your loyal YT fans are super proud of you.
Sorry but their friends helped them do this slab and it took every one of them to get it done! The saw mill slab they did by themselves and did a great job also 😂❤
Haha! That ending shot was awesome. This building is such an accomplishment! You obviously did major research going in, and just had to trust your instincts and find the methods that worked best for you to complete it. Can't wait to see what's next!
I too most echo the comments just read. What a fantastic build!!! May I give you a hint. From my experience when drilling deap in to concrete raise the bit out a time or two. This releases the dust out of the hole beening drilled. Makes it easeier on both the bit the drill... and you. Cheers and CONGRATTS
Awww bo! I had a 14 year old golden retriever that walked like that in his golden years. Amazing work building this. What an endeavour!!! I’m sure your bodies are exhausted!!
Cute ending, you two. What an accomplishment getting the anchor, grout and seal done! This project was beyond massive. You solved the 3 problems that arose and did just fine. It's truly amazing what the two of you accomplish. Hats off to you both. Great videos. Thanks for taking us along on your Alaskan adventure. Best wishes from not-too-far-away Wisconsin!
🎉👏🏼🎶😅So glad to see you celebrating at the end of the video even though I’m sure your bodies were so sore & worn out! I bet every time you walk up to that building you’re going to be in awe of what you two accomplished! That just shows us that if you put your mind to something, it can be accomplished! My momma heart is so proud of you two!! Well done!!🎶👏🏼🎉🥇🏆Maybe you could hang a few pictures of you and your friends that helped in there.. to always remember these days y’all all worked so hard!😅 And congratulations on having 153 thousand views within 9 hours of putting your videos out! This just proves that people love watching good, honest, genuine videos, and of course you two are so delightful and really great at filming and editing too! Keep being you! God bless you two!🙏🏼 🕊️💙
Y’all are truly the badass couple in Alaska! No matter the setbacks, you just persevere on through, whatever the situation 👍😜 alot of people respect you guys cuz you don’t care to get down and dirty and you keep it real, you’re open in showing the ups and downs and you keep on going, with a good mindset. Keep fighting guys, we love y’all 😍👍 awesome video
The dynamic duo is at it again, now I understand the structural integrity, I thought it was just bolted down, I didn`t know it was grouted in on both sides, makes a ton of sense. You picked the right person for the grout finish work Eric, Ariel is making that look like a Wedding cake, the outside slope looks great, if you have water issues around the hut, you could install a french drain on the sides , in spring, now that you have a tractor, and free gravel, all you would have to do is buy the pipe, piece of cake for you two. What a task you two tackled, hats off to you both, can`t wait to see the doors go up, you two should make some Margarita`s and just chill on the deck and stare at it, well done.
My favorite couple are working hard again and doing one heck of a job, I like the way they work, they do there best as they can, they don't give up until it's done to there satisfaction. I'm really impressed by there work. They are something else, Thank you for the time to take the videos for us. Love you two and I pray that God keeps Blessing you.❤❤🌹🌹🌻🌻
Wow! You two never cease to amaze me, you are such hard workers , and such perfectionists, relentless! Your bodies must be absolutely worn out. Congratulations, well done!!!! 😰😰💕💕
What a great job! So satisfying to know the hut will be complete and cozy for winter! Love how Eric helped Ariel up from the ground! They are so good together!
Some of the little things are the ones that are the most meaningful, the little marks by your friends will be memories for a long long time. Also, idk why but I just particularly liked it when he came to help you get up after you'd been kneeling and grouting all day...some of the many ways that shows you both care about each other.
'massive undertaking' quote from Arielle....YES, INDEED❗You Two are INCREDIBLE‼ Integritiy Work Ethic is OUTSTANDING‼ I know that you will utilize and need this shelter in the winter in your new location~CONGRATULATIONS🎉🎈🎉
Fabulous job, guys. Any minor imperfections will shortly be forgotten! We did a 30x40 Quonset 20 years ago; and as soon as we started using it, all imperfections were totally forgotten.
Another Epic endeavor!!! You two are now officially cement/grout Ninjas!!!! You are such great examples to your generation of what you can do if you put your mind to it! Thank you for being willing to share your lives, adventures, critters, and projects with all of us! You are motivating and inspiring!!! ❤
Loved the ending. You guys are amazing workers. Loved the pictures of the little chickens. They have grown a lot. Can’t wait for your videos. The pictures of Alaska are beautiful.
We anxiously wait for every new post. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us. Awesome job on all the projects !!!!!! Your photography is AWESOME. Love all the beautiful scenery. Thank you.
Omgoodness... I am so stealing this saying. I had to have a double mastectomy this years and I refuse to let it define me. Thank you for the great quote.
your welcome! i have some scars on my body, and for all the ones i got, outside of early childhood, i can remember how i got them all. they make great stories. just like yours will be. god speed!@@learningaswegocitygonecoun6805
amazing you two are the greatest team i tell all my kids and friends that when you find a woman that can stand shoulder to shoulder with you that she is a keeper thank you for sharing the adventure
WITHOUT A DOUBT ...If this is what happens when You Do You on a massive scale, it's the best content on TH-cam. That quonset hut build was incredible to watch, especially since it was just the two of you doing your version of a barn raising. Extraordinary problem solving throughout the build. You've come such a long way from your Oregon days. Bravo my friends. Love to You Both. Suzi
My youngest daughter (when she was learning to ride her bike) would show off all the scratches and dents on the bicycle to grandma. She was sooo proud of them. So much we can learn from children. Those marks are the forever rememberance of hearts coming together on a very big endeavor . Be Proud of them!!!
I just love you guys for your energy and the part Eric helping up Arielle was so cute. Just shows how good you guys are together. Also the end shot, wow :) It's even more epic then when Eric came in 'disguised' to check the level points. I like those sort of little humor gems you put in. Serious about what you are doing but still find time for humor aswell.
OH MY GOSH❤❤❤❤❤ Well done you guys! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 This has been the best build to watch but it has been the most taxing on you both. Thank goodness its done because you both need about 3 months off from all this hard work to recover. Eric, it looks like you've lost about 30 pounds and Arielle, it looks like it's taken a big emotional toll on you too. Time for some fishing, foraging and hunting to stock up for winter and many days of rest in-between. Take care and all the best from the UK 🇬🇧. Paula 😊
The relationship you two have and how you work together is truly amazing and inspirational. I love how Eric went to help you up Arielle along with a little kiss. The end shot had me smiling and giggling with joy. You are both wonderful people.
Dang it I love you two !!!!!!!! ❤️ You never fail to please 👌 Your attitude and work ethic is ALWAYS 100% 👍✌️ I'm truly stuck for words to express the pride and joy you generate with each video you release. ❤️ I couldn't be prouder of you both & your finished projects, if you were my own flesh & blood ..... BRAVO @ERIC @ARIELLE My Love & Prayers continue from this Aussie Nan Down Under 🇦🇺🤗✝️💞🙏👌👍✌️👊👏🇺🇲
You two are so cute together. Eric, you are a lucky man. Ariel is a true modern day frontier woman. Love your channel. You inspire my wife and I on our homestead.
Wow killer job. Impressive the amount of work and planning that went into it and y’all did most of it yourselves. The overhead really showed the road shop and cleared area. So much prep work was also involved. Happy for y’all. It was a massive undertaking. Yes it isn’t complete but it’s going to be usable this winter. Thanks for all the videos, I’ll most likely watch the beginning to end series just to relive the amount of work and learning that went into this project. Thank you again.
I’m watching your videos in what ever order they happen to come up in my suggestions which means I know how much more progress you have made from then until now, you’re living a great lifestyle 👍🏻🏴
A idea for the great is put in screen under grate to catch tools ,sockets and other stuff that get dropped so they dont go down the drain .Plus better to catch it before plugging the drain.
I just love watching you guys. It reminds me of the first house that I bought yrs ago. My former wife and I accomplished a lot together. I lost her in 2000. Keep up the great work. I wish that I had videos of those times I am so proud of you guys. 🤗✌️🙌👍😊
Yayyyy, you did it, you did it!! How happy and proud you must feel!! Got some bragging rights out of this one😁 I'm so happy I've been able to follow you guys on your whole journey so far - what you've accomplished is so amazing. It just boggles the mind what you might come up with next - can't wait to see!😄 But first a good rest, some food and fun. Take care you guys, stay safe, be happy!!💖💖
I'm just amazed! You guys built a HUGE building, and it's beautiful. You did it with very little help, and all the videos had me shivering in fear at certain points, yet you pulled it out every time. You'all never cease to amaze me, thank you for taking us all on this adventure. Be well!💫
I think it’s really cool how you both take on these projects. Yeah neither one of you are intimidated. I admire your gumption! Way to go, you both are AWESOME!!!❤
Had anyone told me a concrete workshop finish would drive me to a smile with tears in the eyes I wouldn't believe it. Well, you 2 honeys got me there, great job! I can feel your joy❤.
A suggestion for those of you who are contemplating a build like this. When using a mixer always add the water to the barrel first, and follow with the dry mix. The result is no more stuck mass in the bottom of the barrel. Nice work on your building
I really enjoyed this project, front to back! Thank you. Concrete work is no joke from mixing, hod-carrying, troweling……., you know the rest, for sure. Now, maybe you should go explore the wonderful nature around you before the snow flies. 😊
Just simply great. Such a big project with the hauling of the Quonset hut, the assembly, the concrete and the countless trips to the hardware store. You two did it. Thanks for letting us tag along
You two bring so much joy. Whether it's working around your property or going on an adventure, you're always so welcoming & make each video seem like checking in with friends. 💜🤗
What a team! Holy smokes that was a ton of work for you two. It cracks me up that with all of that hard work you felt happy to be trowelling in the grout. Maybe not as happy at the end when you needed help getting up. You both work so well as a team, it's amazing. Congratulations, I can't wait to see what projects you will do inside your new shop.👍😊
I have enjoyed every single second of this massive project. Thank you for sharing. May God Bless you. Love seeing your beautiful kitty cat inspecting the work...and your doggie enjoying his stick. Happy Labor Day!! Take the day off and enjoy yourselves.
I love that you both expand your abilities to do new things. Bandit played to entertain himself and Pepper inspected the center drain. A great compilation of accomplishments all done with a great can do attitude. As usual, we all learn from your experiences. Kudos!
I'm sure someone will mention this in the comments, but plug your shop vac hose in the exhaust port. Take filter out and empty. Use as a blower. Works great. Fantastic job 👏
Yeah pretty well any adult man can pour concrete it is the finishing that you need to know . I worked with Italian cement finisher when I was 17 and knew a little but when I poured my floor for a basement entrance it was still tooo wet to finish so I went back to work and came back later and jumped down into the hole to finish it and it was hard a little tooo late ! Just pouring that big pad you did a huge job.
LOVED THE ENDING SHOT! I CANT GET ENOUGH OF YOU TWO! ALWAYS SO EXCITED WHEN I SEE A NEW UPLOAD FROM YOU GUYS! IT MAY HAVE BEEN ONE HECK OF A HARD PROJECT BUT YOU TWO TRULY MAKE IT LOOK EASY. YOUR TEAM WORK AND INCREDIBLE ATTITUDES IS SECOND TO NONE! GREAT JOB ERIC AND ARIEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You guys have the best channel. I have learned so much and been inspired by variety of projects and adventures you undertake. You two are an amazing team! Your relationship and teamwork are such a positive example for all of us!
As someone that was in the structural steel world for 20 years and on many commercial job sites through those years, I sincerely take my hat off to you both. When you first stated on a prior video that you were going to do this project yourselves I thought oh boy, best of luck! And also suggested having a pad that big done by professionals. They did do a fantastic job didn’t they. I have to add that once they commit to a task, they see it to the End! And WOW what a beautiful 🤩 end.

The 80's soundtrack at the end with the jump still pic is everything! Congrats to you both on an amazing build!
Haha! That ending shot was awesome. This building is such an accomplishment! You obviously did major research going in, and just had to trust your instincts and find the methods that worked best for you to complete it. Can't wait to see what's next!
That energetic adrenaline release at the end of a massive project! Well done Ariel, Eric!!

Thanks for taking the time to bring us along for the journey. Side note: try using an electric leaf blower to sweep up, it's 100 times faster.
We also use one to blow snow off the vehicles in the winter. Works great with dry snow!

It's amazing what having the right tool for the job can do 👍
Perfection like beauty is in the eye of the beholder and from where I’m beholding it looks AWESOME!
That floor looks great. Once it is sealed you will have a wonderful shop!!
I watched this whole video without skipping ahead once - very rare!
Enjoy watching this hard working couple..thank you for sharing your journey in Alaska!
Just extraordinary drive, energy and willingness to get stuck in and learn. Loving your building work; loving your video work. Thanks both.
Just simply great. Such a big project with the hauling of the Quonset hut, the assembly, the concrete and the countless trips to the hardware store. You two did it. Thanks for letting us tag along
You folks have a lot of energy and ambition and the building looks amazing!!!!! Life time structure.😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Great work on the grouting. The quonset hut looks so good. You can put a ton in that space.
Arielle!! The star of the show!!wow!
She's not single.
You two bring so much joy. Whether it's working around your property or going on an adventure, you're always so welcoming & make each video seem like checking in with friends. 💜🤗
Wow 😮 what a project & thank the Lord for good friends 🤩. Looks really good… and BIG LOL. 👵🏻👩🌾❣️
My gosh this hut was such a tremendous amount of work ! You must be very proud of yourselves !
I absolutely love watching you 2. I get excited each week when I see a new video. ❤ from the Midwest!
Loving watching yalls journey since the beginning.
So cool!! Amazing! Just not enough adjectives to describe it!! Y'all rock😊. Hugs to you both, Bandit Bo and Pepper!!!
Too too good. You guys are unstoppable!! What a privilege and joy to get to watch you each week. Thanks so much and well done!!
That’s one heck of an accomplishment. I’m proud of you both!
That last shot of the two of you jumping got me lolling! You are so much fun to watch and you get anything done together! Nice work!
