Hi! I was wondering if you had to do any clinical skil checks (like the skill checks you have to do when you want to become a cna) in order to be an OR Nurse
Hey! Definitely do! There’s so so much to learn for the skills sort of never end lol. With every new equipment piece, instrumentations, techniques. It’s always evolving. Some times I think more so than other specialities!
Tee Johnson Yup! But the days change on which ones I’m working or off. They rotate around. Experience wise it’s definitely a specialized area so getting some solid nursing experience overall is highly recommended before moving into it :)
Hey! Depends on which part lol. Nursing school as a whole can be anywhere from 18 months for some programs to 4 years for a bachelors degree. After that, OR internship programs can be a few months to a year long while you learn the ropes! 🤗
Some of the ones I listen here and there are Optimal Daily Living , Unf*ck Your Brain, and I love Rise & Conquer by Georgie Stevenson!! Comedy ones that are greattt are Shagged Married Annoyed, and Parental Guidance by Rose and Rosie 🤗🤗 Hope that helps. What are your favs!?
Thank you for making this video! I'm so excited to become an OR nurse!
I love your videos! Very inspiring!! I am hopefully starting OR nursing in June can’t wait 😊
mel Thanks hun! That’s awesome! It’s a whole different world and can be so fun ☺️

Hi from Nova Scotia Canada. I’m an OR Nurse too!
Hiii way up there! I’ve never been to Nova Scotia!
You should do a video of how the safety straps work on the operating table.
Somehow those little things can be so tricky! Especially different turnover packs, beds, and kits! Lol
Great video🙂
As a OR nurse what are some essentials you keep in your pockets?
Everything but the kitchen sink of course! LOL
