To copy and paste 3rd person. (CTRL+C, CTRL+V) bind "F1" "thirdpersonshoulder; cam_ideahyaw -4; cam_idealpitch -4;" I forgot the ; on the -4, my bad guys, i didn't see it. Probably, i don't know this comment was made over a year ago, it's hard to remember about it, i forgot this video even existed. If it doesn't work for some odd reason like this, i don't know what to do, im not tech support i simply wrote it down so that people could copy and paste it. good luck i suppose.
From what I can tell: cam_idealyaw and cam_idealpitch both just change your camera angle compared to player model, but won't fix the aim. Instead, they ruin your controls because your mouse movement & player model aren't in sync, for example if you have high yaw you might be walking right on your screen. Use c_thirdpersonshoulderaimdist instead. This also changes your camera angle, but I tested values like 200-8000, and it mostly matches camera direction. I think it comes down to your preference, you can't fix the inaccurate aiming it seems, since the bullets always come from first person camera height. For me low values help at short distances, high values help at long distances. I assume distance values are ingame units, but not sure.
I noticed there's nothing that moves the camera to the actual shoulder of the model you're using, but you can move the camera closer to the floor so eventually it gets shoved towards your player model. Entering these commands becomes a headache when testing the values with multiple settings.
@@screechingsergal5012 The closer you can get to having your camera at shoulderheight 0 and shoulderoffset 0 the better. Just don't think about it too much I guess. Get the angle you want & deal with the negatives pretty much. I prefer high aimdist values because I can still sort of aim up close since you don't have to be that accurate. Edit: Also I think there is a way to attach camera to the model, I saw a mod on workshop talking about attaching it to like, in this case I think it was just to the face. It was a method that apparently didn't work outside localhost server though. Maybe try looking it up somehow. Edit 2: Maybe by closer to the shoulder you mean settings like c_mindistance, c_maxdistance, c_thirdpersonshoulderdist ? Sorry, kinda having difficulties understanding what your comment exactly is about.
@WhiteZet1 I'll have to try playing with it a bit more, but I'm referring to the camera behind closer to the back of the character you're playing. Kinda like how in GTAV when you ADS in pulls the camera closer but still over their right shoulder? In LFD2 it feels like the 3rd person camera is kinda far behind them, and even with an offset of 20+ it'll still feel like you're a bit far off. The aim thing is something that eliminates using sniper rifles, (I usually play on expert) but every other gun for the most part is usable. I tried setting aim distance but it'll throw off your settings completely if you're too close to a wall. In an open space, it's nearly perfect, but if something gets too close to the floating cam, your aim will warp around it and be super inaccurate. Edit: I'm sorry I'm rambling a little, I'm just trying to wrap my head around these settings.

I copy pasted this from somewhere else, but here's a script that works for me: bind "F3" "thirdpersonshoulder; cam_idealyaw -5.3; cam_idealpitch -5.3;" and for the aim fix: camideal_yaw 1
This help me a lot and I’m not brand new to l4d but I have been stuck playing l4d on Xbox 360 without any mods or dlcs and even on the Xbox 360 l4d is a great game
Hmmm all I can think is to double check your spelling and be sure to press the button you bound to toggle it on or off. Otherwise maybe try binding it to a different key

It’s just a toggle. Pushing it again should put you back into first person. Also you can unbind using the same command but typing unbind instead of bind
