I played through Pokemon Ruby fairly recently. This was the first Pokemon game I've every played! So, every time this guy shows up, he says, "Hi Mal, stuff is happening!" and I'm like "Wait, have we met? Who are you?" I guess he got fed up with me never recognizing him the end, because he got MEAN in the champion fight. In the end, it was my Absol's Pressure ability that saved me - I was desperately staving off inevitable crushing defeat with Hyper Potions and Full Restores when his seemingly invincible Cradily (which I just now discovered is Ground.Plant type, no wonder Flamethrower didn't do shit) when suddenly, Cradily used Struggle. My Absol's ability had drained ALL of Cradily's PP, and he was now (mostly) harmless. I spent a bunch of turns pumping up with X-Attack, X-Special, X-Defense and so on to the absolute limit. Have fun , Metagross! It's only a high-powered Dark type with maxed out SpecAttack EV's and FOUR TIMES normal stats. Watch out for Fire Blast and Bite, they'll both do double damage to you, and Bite gets STAB.
This is AMAZING! I remember hearing the original version of this and the chills I get out of this... like never before! I already thought the fight itself was epic. :D
No rival will ever be as intense as battling blue in OG gen 1. A mouthy little brat that had the actual potential to wipe you out since you couldn’t over level and facing him the first 10 times in your lifetime. After that it will be easier because you just needed to raise pokemon that counter all his and the perfect line up. Pro level was capturing pokemon with versatile move sets and tanky or resistant to heavy super effective moves
To be honest, I really love this Remix because it reminds me a lot more of the Pokemon Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness renditions of this theme than RSE and ORAS.
I was in Hospital for 6 weeks this year and this really helped me win the daily Fight..
