      I agree with everything you said, man, but I still think that if there will be a KotOR II remake (I mean, there should be if there is a KotOR Remake), they should explain it more extensively, and maybe even set the stage for KotOR III, if they make that after the remakes of the first two games.

    It is a proof of KOTOR II's narrative brilliance that even after more than one and a half decades, people pick up the scattered pieces of information the authors have deliberately left behind, and develop new theories that change how you look at the entire story of the game. This video certainly blew my mind. I really hope there is NO remake of KOTOR II unless it's by the very same team that wrote the original story and characters. Every attempt to replicate the game's narrative without knowing what was in Avallone's and his team's mind would just do Kreia, the Exile and Atris injustice, as TOR did before.

    I think T3-M4 found Kreia. At the end of the game Kreia tells the Exile that Revan talked to her on Malachor V before he left Republic Space. T3 probably saw Kreia's lightsaber or Revan said she was his master so T3 just assumed she was a Jedi. Bastila told T3 to look for other Jedi if he can't find her. When T3 couldn't find Bastila he returned to Malachor V and he and Kriea left together on the Ebon Hawk.

    I love this theory. I’m not entirely sure that Kreia suggested the Exile be exiled, based off Kreia’s desire to truly understand the Exile throughout the game. As well as the Exile altering and changing Kreia’s own plan.

      @@starlighter930617 Truth! I was referring more to her dialogue to herself when the Exile goes to meet with the Jedi Masters in the Dantooine Enclave. The way she talks to herself, and then confronts their lies (which is the most honest we see her in the entire game save for the ending), makes it sound like she’s finally figuring out the truth behind the Exile. Like finally solving an enigma that had been difficult for her to solve.

    • @100StarWars
      @100StarWars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Well to me, we know she says exactly that - that it was her who pushed for Meetra to be exiled. She then leaves the order, trys to USE force wounds as weapon, without understanding them fully to chaos havoc as a Sith.
      This backfires, so she has to use Meetra, but not in the same way. Because now she wants to understand them, and thus we get the entire 'you were afraid' dialogue. It's at this point that she doesn't want to use Meetra, because her being a wound is not special as she once thought, but her nature as a human-being was special. And her goal nearer to the end was to ensure that Meetra overcome her past, and became the best version of herself.

    • @crazyquirrels
      @crazyquirrels 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@100StarWars Thinking it over, if Kreia was involved with Meetra’s exile (which fits her as Darth Traya at the time), it does add more to her realizations after Meetra finds the masters.
      She thought Meetra was unique because of her wound in the Force, but really, it was her character as a person that ultimately saved her from that wound, ultimately letting herself heal.
      This is why I love these games: the philosophy of the second in particular. There’s always a new perspective to view it through.

    Interesting theory. The thing about Kreia is she weaves lies into truth, and she is really good at it. I would start with the assumption that she is lying first and see how it fits known data from other sources.
    Now was she following Sion? Was Sion after the Ebon Hawk? Seeing into the future is a force ability.
    I would want to look again at that great exchange between the Exile and Sion at the end of the Game before the Exile's final confrontation with Kreia. Also, one my favorite fights in the Game. She is being the great manipulator and she could have learned of the events of Kotor and set him on this task even prior to her betrayal by the other two of the Triumvirate.
    Now given this video I would also love to see an in depth look at G0T0 and the Exchange.

    My theory: in this theory the Revan novel is scrapped for a second. Revan wants to find the true Sith, so he starts looking for them. Darth Sion and Darth Nihilus think that Revan is the key to finding the Jedi order, so they create a beacon to loore Revan to them. Revan believing that this beacon comes from the true Sith goes to find it with the ebon hawk. He duels with Darth Nihilus and he eventually barely loses to him. Darth Sion and Darth Nihilus hold Revan in chains, but at the same time they betray Darth Traya. When she awakens she goes looking for a way out and finds the ebon hawk, she then flies off Malachor V. Fast forward and I think your theory kicks in.

    T3 was the the only one aboard when he fixed it and returned. The ebon hawk was known by the sith bc they tracked it. It makes sense that Kreia knew this and boarded the ship. The officer said all were dead which we know Kreia can fake. When brought aboard she grabbed Meetra and made their escape. This triggered sion to attack but since the Harbinger was crippled it took longer for the assassins to get the ship in working order. This is why it took longer for them to show up at peragus

    Oh, what I would give for a story that involved Darth Traya and Darth Sidious having a long and detailed conversation. Traya is perhaps the only Sith whom Sidious might genuinely respect as an equal and peer. Their motivations are different, but their extraordinary wisdom (for lack of a better word) and similar methods are wonderful storytelling.
    To this theory: I tend to agree, except on one critical point. I don't believe that Kreia personally visited Telos before KOTOR II, or that she deliberately attempted to manipulate Atris in person. Kreia's gift for manipulation is formidable, but it has limits. She couldn't be sure that Atris would fall to the Dark Side, or that Atris would act as she did, inadvertently setting the stage for Nihilus to obliterate what was left of the Jedi Order. There are too many dominoes.
    More likely, to me: during her travels, Kreia discovers the Ebon Hawk and T3. Kreia convinces T3 that she is a Jedi, so T3 tells her everything: Revan has been captured by the True Sith, and the True Sith are stirring in the dark. Kreia proceeds to casually betray T3, cutting the little droid loose, but not before giving the droid the name of a real Jedi whom he might find: Meetra Surik, the woman whom Kreia is desperate to find and protect.
    T3 (because he's awesome) successfully locates Meetra, but while en route to the Harbinger, he's attacked by a small Sith warship. Before Sion can claim his prize, the Harbinger arrives. Outmatched by the more powerful Republic cruiser, the Sith decide to infiltrate the Harbinger instead. It is now that Kreia arrives, having been tracking the Ebon Hawk all along, hoping that T3 would find Meetra. During the escape, the Hawk is hit by the Harbinger's turbolasers, injuring both Meetra and Kreia.
    One additional note: because of Kreia's betrayal, T3 is less quick to trust. He helps Meetra, but he waits until he's absolutely certain that Meetra is a true Jedi before telling her everything. He sure as heck doesn't trust Kreia, which deepens her hatred and scorn of the droid. He's a continuing threat to her plans, and as a droid, Kreia can't manipulate him as she would an organic.

    • @brentphillips9965
      @brentphillips9965 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Meetra Surik was a passenger aboard the Harbinger before it intercepted the Ebon Hawk. The Harbinger had picked up Meetra from the Outer Rim to meet with Carth Onasi on Telos. That was why the HK-50 droid had infiltrated the Harbinger in the first place - to collect on Meetra Surik. Right before you fight him, the first HK-50 you meet laments that the Harbinger running across the Ebon Hawk and the Sith Freighter screwed up his plans to take her in for the bounty.
      On the Harbinger you can find a room that was Meetra's quarters on the ship for the duration of the journey. It's the room where you find some of your belongings, including "*Player Name*'s Armband".

    The problem with this is that it doesn't explain why did Darth Sion was pursuing the Ebon Hawk before they were found by the Harbinger if Kreia wasn't there, remeber that before comic "The Old Republic: Revan", the only thing we knew was what Kreai said at the end of KOTOR 2, the Revan left the Ebon Hawk behind on Malachor V, so the original intended idea was that Kreia found the Ebon Hawk on Malachor left with it to find the exile and was pursued by Darth Sion
    But after the Revan comic we know that he didn't left the Ebon Hawk behind but was capture on Nathema, so we could assume that after T3-M4 repaired the ship and left looking for other Jedi to help, they went to Maalachor V looking for information about Surik, a former allied of Revan, but they were found by Kreia who took over the ship, and what she said about how she found the Harbinger drifting in space, is clearly a lie

    Crazy theory: disconsidering the mmo( which im not a big fan of, because I think the true sith would be more focused on unnatural force powers like sith alchemy and massassi in their front lines as an exemple, the dread masters brought some of it but it's only them, also the way they treated Revan). So my theory is that kreia was in the ship with T3, Revan was working with kreia, and the only way of stopping the sith was destroying the force. While he bought her time by holding back the sith. The only thing I can think of to support this theory is how she says t3 betrayed Revan by shocking him, and she has repair as a skill, so she deleted memories from t3, not t3 deleted himself. Maybe this was going to be explained in the third real game

    Hmm hard to say but maybe she did bored the harbinger and then to put herself in a force hibernation she must have had the force or some of it left. I think maybe she was using it to sense meetra surik along with the information she kept compiling throughout her journey. But this is what I love about kotor 2 the mystery. They need to bring it back. I would definitely love a game where it’s Kreias life or perspective that goes up until the day she dies.

    I think if they are to eventually remake kotor 2 mysteries like this need to be solved and some things need to be made more clear. I love that there’s so much mystery surrounding this story but for people who aren’t kotor nerds I can see how it can be hard to get into and confusing which is why kotor 1 was more popular overall as a game.

    @2:18 Did she really want to restore the Jedi Order though? Kreia has some dialogue where if you suggest that Atris is trying to rebuild the order, she counters that none of Atris's handmaidens can sense the force, and that Atris had other plans. It seems more likely that Atris's goal was to preserve the *history* of the jedi at all costs, and sought to learn Kreia's teachings to defeat them. But in doing so she became pulled into the dark side without even being aware of it.

    I like your theory, I theorised like the rest of the Sith Triumvirate she could sense the Exile and was drawn to her because she was a wound in the Force and wanted to protect her from the Danger Kreia knew she would face (I think that explains their Force Bond). I couldn't ascertain how she came a board the Harbinger, I just figured Kriea found the Exile the same way Sion did, only she found her first. It's good to hear another point of view.

    The Harbinger and its crew really were doomed the moment the exile stepped aboard what with HK-50 AND The Sith both sabotaging and murdering its crew. I sometimes wonder if HK and The Sith were aware of oneanother's actions and just decided it'd be more efficient to just leave eachother alone to get on with their mutual goal. I feel like HK's assassination protocols probably would've given him an idea there were cloaked Sith aboard crippling the ship, and the Sith observing HK doing the same thing. Must've been an interesting yet horrific few days.

    I think Kreia had already found the Exile before the Ebon Hawk was attacked. Kreia knows of an ability that can hide her very existence from others, and mentions that the Exile would have no way of knowing if Kreia had used it on them in the past. Her interactions with the Disciple reveals that she has been using it on some of the Exile's companions as well. If Kreia had already found the Exile, she may have been waiting for the opportunity to reveal herself after the Republic, Sith, and Exchange had also started searching for her. An opportunity which she could have planted seeds to eventually draw at least one of them towards the Exile to force the Exile into accepting her training under desperate conditions.

      But what was never revealed was how Kreia was able to find the Exile at the such convenient timing. The HK-50 was there because G0t0 had directed the HK-50 units to find the Exile. The Sith that attacked the Harbinger were previously attacking the Ebon Hawk, which Kreia was most likely aboard. Almost as if Kreia intended to lead the Sith towards the Exile, forcing them into an alliance when the Sith would eventually attack.

    I wont say kreia is the best character ever written in the saga, because i cannot feel but guilty if i said kreia is better written than iconic characters like revan, vader, luke, mara jade... I think people often say that about her because she is the character most philosophycally explored in all sw universe, and i do respect that, but not to the point to say shes the best character ever written. Nervertheless i loved her when saw her for the first time in my first kotor II playthrough and what i admit is that she deserves all the popularity shes got because it is not seen all days a character to be so deep and complex not being in a movie or tv show, to be in a videogame who not much people has played, and even so gain so much recognition... Now I've watched it. And I had a theory. We know that Revan visited his first jedi master to ask how to leave the order in a best way. I don't remember when exactly it happened. And together after the Exile.
