    I used this fabulous tent for family camping. Now I camp solo. I am female, 65 years old and found this video super helpful to learn how set up tent by myself. Thank you!!!

    Excellent video and instructions on putting up the REI Base Camp 4. I just put mine up for the first time without watching a video and made several mistakes which cost be time and aggravation. Really appreciate your video and tips. This tent is a bomb shelter, waterproof and good with high winds. Great tent for camping.

    Makes me hopeful I can set up my new Nemo Aurora 4p by myself. I’m only 5’1. 😁

      @Habitual Line Stepper Oooh I hope so too! I think it should be doable cos I was able to set up taller tents than this on my own too 😊 Let me know how it goes!

    This video is fantastic. I just used it as my guide and was able to set up my tent in about 20 minutes, which is not bad for a guy in his 40s who has never put one up alone! Thank you for making this video, and for being concise yet thorough!

      Wow thank you so much for sharing Justin! 20 minutes is definitely a great timing, and this definitely isn't the easiest tent to set up. I'm really glad that the video could help you out! 😁

      They very much were such helpful tips..I had such a hard time setting it up on my own, and was fearful of bending the tent poles in forcing too much. But that staking technique and grabbing it towards the middle did the trick!! As well as the packing situation...rolling them together and trying to get it into that small duffel was frustrating to say the least...let alone in heat index 107 F° weather 😅
      Many thanks for your tips and channel...

      @@NotMadNomadZephyr Awesome!!! I'm really glad to hear that they helped, and I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know! I don't always get a lot of feedback on my set up videos (as not many people watch them as the reviews), so I'm glad to know that they helped! 😊 I'm really glad that you could set it up much more easily by yourself after the tips! And HAHA I know right?! That silly duffel bag was so frustrating 😂 I really appreciate your feedback and sub! It means a lot! 🥰

    We just did a family campout in the park as a practice for a girl scouts camping trip. It was really fun and my daughter and I watched your video a couple nights before and felt confident we could put together a tent which we had never slept in before.

    Hi! This is Ken Williams in Austin, Texas. This week I purchased the REI Base Camp 6 tent, brought it home and set it up. I was very surprised when I realized that this is not the same tent I saw in your videos, which I had watched many time and were very influential in my decision to buy this tent. The 2 differences are that the roof vents are not reachable from the inside and the vestibule has 2 straight zippers, instead of the 1 curved zipper, and is not tall enough for me, at 5’7”, to pass through without ducking my head. I called REI today and the rep with whom I spoke stated that “it appears that the tent I have is a new model”, although she could not find that specific information in her system. Just thought you might want to know.

      Hey Ken! Oh yeah REI updated the Base Camp slightly, so I think there are some slight differences in my Base Camp (bought in 2022) and the current one that's out now. I think they upgraded the seam sealing, but oh man I'm so sorry to hear that the vents aren't reachable from the inside anymore? That's so strange. Thank you for taking the time to let me know though!

    Thank you for making such informative & detailed set ups & reviews of all of your tents! I purchased this tent from REI based on your set up & rain test. You saved me so much research!!! I also enjoy watching your other tent reviews, as I’m looking for another smaller tent. What do you do with all these tents you purchase? Thank you again:)

      Thank you so much!! I'm really glad that I could help you out a little, and it means so much to me that you supported the channel too 🥰 Some of the tents I sell away for cheap, and i keep my favorite ones to keep using in the videos! Aww wish I could hand you some of my tents, but I'm all the way over in Singapore. What small tent are you looking for?

    Great video! So many people making TH-cam videos do not have a clue how to get to the point, how to deal with the important details, and forget the unimportant ones. Thanks for giving clear infoabout the guy lines, and not forgetting to mention that there are loops for 6, but only 4 supplied, and that REI didn't bother to include any stakes for the guy lines. What about the other loops also on the outside of the fly? It isn't clear what those are for. Are they for even more guy lines in case of hurricane force winds??

    • @CampingGuidance
      @CampingGuidance  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Phil! Thank you so much for your kind words, and I'm really glad that you liked the video and all the info inside too! 😊 That really means a lot. I'll do my best to make all future videos the same as well, just the important details. There are other loops on the outside of the fly but they aren't for guylines. Some of them are for holding the vestibule doors open, and some others are for holding the porch door open (when you unstake the vestibule). I hope this makes things clearer! You can check it out in my full review of this tent, I think I briefly go into the toggles and loops by the side that you're talking about 😊
