Man that was so fun watching you get bamboozled by the greatness. :0p so glad you found Tool my friend...they are a game changer....for me...a life changer...and I will never grow tired of joining folks on their journey into one of the greatest bands of all time. And just remember, Opiate, Undertow, Salival, Aenima...their earlier stuff is still just as tool as any of it...though perhaps a bit more...aggressive in their sound and approach...but, thats hardly a detracting point...

Aaand Im going to write this again. I envy you listening to the Tool for the first time. So much to discover. And apparently, what has just happened is it took you away/you have been tooled :) It took me like 20 years ago and since then I had no such experience at all. Tool takes. Tool is the tool for being taken to another dimension of music, philosophy, way of thinking, way of describing things, human reactions, relations, space and all around us. Fck. Perfect set - Maynard, Adam, Justin and Danny (for me the most special one - I love bass). It's where the heart and mind opens, when you listen to Tool's compositions. Can't call it songs, sorry.
I know it looks like I'm a super fan. I'm not/I am. It's not music for driving a car or dancing. It's for opening your eyes and mind. Matter of interpretation. Brilliant.
    Again, I envy....

When I close my eyes, I can still see the lighting as rings of watery light slowly meandering over the crowd during Disposition. • @avedic

This entire reaction video is wonderful. Even without the audio track from your end....the video is more than enough. The look on your face at 20:20 is brilliant. I 100% get what you're feeling right then. That was right after that ridiculous section where the beginning of each measure started on some chromatic bluesy note. Tool is brilliant at making very simple things sound incredibly interesting...and that part of Triad is a good example. They have this uncanny ability to showcase how fascinating a single _note_ can be, for example.
The entire Aenima album is perfect for that reason. The basic underlying ideas behind each song are somewhat simple...each song has a main "idea" that is super catchy and you can hum. But they flesh it out in the most surreal psychedelic interesting way imaginable. I could go on...but I'm curious to watch your Aenima reactions now. I just adore that album. What's sad is...I honestly do not like Fear Innoculum. I've listened to the entire thing probably 5 times now...and it feels shockingly hollow and almost made by some "T00L algorithm." I feel *nothing* from it. Wish I did, but I just don't. But....I adore this band and still absolutely think Aenima and Lateralus are both 10/10 albums. Any band that can even _do_ that, let alone twice in a row...has something pretty special going on.
    So yeah...cool reaction video.

Tool in their previous albums had always been good. I remember when Undertow and Aenima came out and how much a lot of my friends and I dug those albums . Then this album came out. This album convinced me that Tool was seeking to climb out of the proverbial alternative metal cesspool that had developed in the mid to late 90’s and striving to be a more progressive rock band that wanted to be distinct. This was the tour that saw them doing more performance art live and Maynard performing in the shadows while the other guys shone in all of their glory . The chemistry of the band live was always striking .

    10 disposition •
    Mention this to me
    Mention something, mention anything
... and watch the weather change.
    11 reflection •
I have come curiously close to the end, down
    Beneath my self-indulgent pitiful hole,
    Defeated, I concede and
    Move closer
    I may find comfort here
I may find peace within the emptiness
    How pitiful
    It's calling me...
And in my darkest moment, fetal and weeping
The moon tells me a secret - my confidant
As full and bright as I am
This light is not my own and
A million light reflections pass over me
Its source is bright and endless
    She resuscitates the hopeless
Without her, we are lifeless satellites drifting
And as I pull my head out I am without one doubt
Don't wanna be down here feeding my narcissism.
I must crucify the ego before it's far too late
I pray the light lifts me out
    Before I pine away.
So crucify the ego, before it's far too late
To leave behind this place so negative and blind and cynical,
And you will come to find that we are all one mind
Capable of all that's imagined and all conceivable.
Just let the light touch you
And let the words spill through
And let them pass right through
Bringing out our hope and reason ...
    before we pine away.
    12 triad •

You had the exact same reaction as me hearing this trio for the first time. Jaw dropped and took off my glasses in astonishment. Speechless throughout it. Their music is legitimately on another plane of art. There’s truly nothing quite like Tool.

Great reaction...no worries about the audio, you are right, your facial expressions were good enough. A little fyi, in case it hasn't been stated...the music is written and tracked and then Maynard writes the song around the music.

Great video! No worries about your loss of your audio ... everybody makes mistakes. It's harder to forgive the breaks between the songs. (LOL, Kidding of course) But seriously, those songs each blend one into the next so well, I think you missed out on part of the experience. Years ago, when I ripped these songs from my original CD it did it as one long 24:40 track, to preserve the beautiful fades between each and never shuffle. It looks like you lost a couple minutes worth of transition, compared to the full album versions of the songs. Hope you get the long versions to add to your own play list. Anyway, thanks for another great video!

barking madman appreciate the feedback my man! I actually listened to the 3 songs with the actual transitions on Spotify but I had to DL the videos from TH-cam so that’s why there’s an abrupt transition from song to song 🤦🏼‍♂️

I am a TOOL fan since the 90's. There is nobody better and they stick to their own sound. Tool is not just music, but an experience as you are finding out. When you do 10,000 days album, do a lyric video for Rosetta Stoned as it mot only funny, but one of the most complex rock songs ever created. Personal Favorite. Please explore A Perfect Circle as well as everyone is telling you. No Quarter which is a Led Zepplin remake is incredible..... Worth listening to.
ENJOY THE RIDE....we will be here with you as your guide!

I can't get enough of this! I wish I had the video proof of how blown away I was the first listen of each album. If you somehow forget, you have TH-cam and your channel to come back and relive those memories. My second favorite band of all time, only behind Deftones. The contrast behind the two bands couldn't be larger, but I feel Deftones also have their own unique way of building a song that makes them my favorite. Riviere is one of my favorite songs of theirs that builds in a way you typically see Tool do. Chino has a very similar voice to Maynard as a lot of the tracks have the eerie quality in the vocal about them. I saw you reach to a song they did with Maynard, but I want more. Try Riviere, Be Quite and Drive (Far Away) , and Digital Bath. Let me know. Keep up the hard work. I can't say hard work because listening to music isn't very hard, but damn is it entertaining!

If you want to try another triple header I have a suggestion.
    A Perfect Circle - Judith
    Tool - Wings for Marie
Tool - 10,000 days (Wings for Marie 2)
Maynard is also the singer in A Perfect Circle. These three songs are about/dedicated to his mother. He put out Judith when she was alive and the other two after she passed away. They’ll get you in the feels for sure.
You’ll find the two Tool songs combined into one video.
    One more suggestion:
React to Led Zeppelin - No Quarter
And then Tool’s cover of it to see who did it better.
    Thanks.

The musicianship is off the charts amazing, and the sonic landscapes that they create are just mind-blowing. Fun fact: The three "songs" were originally written as one composition that was over 20 minutes long.

    P. S wings for Marie part 1 & (wings for Marie part 2) 10000 days is waiting for you dude. Knowing the back story of Maynard s mother, it's quite emotional. Lyrics for that one is a good idea but some of the fan made ones are kinda distracting cause they use footage from films and stuff. Just want you to have the best first listen experience you can.
