I agree watched the Coaxium heist so far, I remember thinking that the Solo version really dragged on Corellia to get started. and I felt the pacing was much better faster and a wild rollercoaster with less slow scenes. The L3 Droid rights i noticed was much trimmed and I think it makes L3 a much more rounder character that it isn't just droid rights that L3 cares about. Really good version. I would like an optional subtitle file for the bit with Chewbaca and a part earlier with an alien language, but we get the idea of what's going on anyway. Think I'm doing the Spencer Kenobi movie then will go into Rise of the Rebellion and that blends nicely into 4K77 after that.

Nice! Yeah, I really enjoyed that edit. I enjoy Solo anyway, but just the color grading was a HUGE thing for me and felt that it gave it so much life!

I don't feel removing Rogue One's unique qualities is a good idea. Better to remove the cheap nostalgia bait. Also, crawls should be reserved for the actual episodes. These aren't part of the "serialized" series format.
Unrelated, but without a doubt, I consider Rogue One without a doubt the most fun Disney Star Wars film.

I get the crawl thing…but I thought the R1 title card was poorly done in the released film, and I still have issues with the score (due to Giacchino’s lack of time to really make it great).
The “fun” thing…it’s just SO serious, but after the release of Andor, it’s more clear to me what my problems with R1 really are - because of the hodgepodge nature of how they put the movie together (multiple story changes during production and reshoots), I don’t really connect with the characters as much as the other films. After the first time I watched it, the only character’s name I could remember was K-2SO…the droid.

@@order42show Yeah, it's definitely a film with some issues. Tony Gilroy is clearly a talented writer, but it feels like everytime a serious plot point comes up, it gets 90% of the way there, but just barely misses the mark.
With that said, Solo is a _far_ worse film in this regard. I had a decent time watching it, but it has many, many more issues than Rogue One. And I have to disagree with you on Mail. He serves no purpose; like a post credit scene teasing a movie that will never happen. His arc had already been completed in Rebels so introducing him was redundant and only served to raise questions that would never get answers.

It’s true about Maul, and especially since it’s so dependent on your knowledge of Rebels - but, since this took place before his arc completes, I felt that there was plenty of room for stories to be told with Qi’ra, as she was a really interesting character to me. It did reek of “we need more punch” and felt like a late addition.
I will saw about Gilroy - when he’s allowed to tell the whole story as he has in Andor (he was also late to the production of R1), he’s fantastic.
But, that’s what I really enjoyed about these edits - they took what was there and, IMHO, improved upon them. Neither is perfect, and won’t ever be, but I really enjoyed them.

@@order42show I agree with most of what you said, but about Maul, I don't think tampering with the character after his arc has been completed is a good idea. Sure, you could tell more stories with him, but why do so when his story has already been perfectly told from beginning to end? It doesn't really stand to benefit from any expansion. You just risk stretching thin a character that has already been used to its fullest extent, or worse, making a decision that retroactively worsens his storyline.

That does make sense. I guess I just wanted more Qi’ra, and if it meant getting more Maul, then…ok. I like Maul, I do…but his appearance wasn’t what excited me, you know? It was the promise (or suggestion of one) that we might get more. I dunno…I guess I just enjoyed Solo more than most!
