The movie was beautifully made, and the music was unforgettable, but it wasn't at all authentic regarding its purported location. That left us deeply saddened.
When I mentioned that Dr. Zhivago was my favourite film for over four decades, I was shocked by my friend's response. "I never thought of you as a romantic!" I had enjoyed the film as an important historical drama showing the tragedy of revolution and politics. It never entered my head that anyone could see anything romantic about a married man having an affair with another married woman. Furthermore, he never showed love, only grabbed at the woman nearest to hand. In the book, he had another woman too. What a dreadful way to treat women. My favourite actors were Ralph Richardson, Rod Steiger, Alec Guinness and Tom Courtney. They had the best dialogue too.

Saw this Academy award winning gorgeous romantic epic film, six times in a row when it first came out in my teens. A David Lean masterpiece with stunning cinematography, music, i.e. "Lara's Theme and great acting! BTW, that's a terrible clickbait photo opposite Academy award winning beautiful Julie Christie, that is NOT her! Shame on you! And she's still alive, 84 now and living in London! British actor Tom Courteny is still alive and well, too! Do your homework! smdh

One of my husbands and my first dates. Seeing this movie... it was well done, emotional. I truly dusliked Julie Christies character......she was in the overthrow... he, Dr.Z was overtaken w.her. I thought poorly of him as well. Destroyed a marriage and children. So.. overall i didn't care for the movie.
