Hi, i'm Maurizio from Italy and thanks for the video that helps a lot. 2 questions: I have a Cayenne 92A..can you please write the tightening torques you used for the caliper and the disc? When you change the pads does it affect the operation of the handbrake (I have the electronic one)?
Hi Maurizio Here is the torque specifications I utilized for my car: - Rear Caliper Bolt Torque for M12x1.5x115: 63 ft-lb - Rotor Retaining Screw: 16 Nm (Newton-meters) or approximately 12 lb.-ft. - Wheel bolts: 118 ft-lb Please ensure you adhere to your owner’s manual for the accurate torque specifications for your specific vehicle. As for the hand brake, I also have the electronic one. if you’re only replacing the rear brake pads and rotors, the electronic parking brake typically does not require manual adjustment. Some people perform a recalibration once everything is completed but you need a special computer tool that performs the recalibration automatically. Me personally I did not do it but again, I am not a professional mechanic and brake are a very important component on your car and should not be taken lightly when it comes to maintenance.

Thank you for your feedback! You’re right, I didn’t mention the electronic parking brake in this video because it wasn’t due for replacement yet. However, I appreciate your input and will make sure to cover it in a future video when it’s time to change the electronic parking brake.😊
@@jamil1637 so basically there isnt any issue changing them? Since i need to change both front and back, a few services allready refused to do the work because they dont have a program to repull the brake pistons on my cayenne, what do they mean? Its not the pads that hold the hand brake but the once inside the disc, im not sure the english word for them
@@coolmkdmacedonia so based on why i know, when replacing or reinstalling electronic brakes, you need to perform an electronic brake alignment or adjustment using specialized software that connects to the car’s OBD2 port. Not all garages have this equipment, so I recommend visiting a shop that specializes in German cars to ensure the parking brake functions correctly. You can also find online threads like Rennlist that provides more detail information on this topic.
I have a 13 s and about to do brakes this weekend. Very helpful and straight to the point. I appreciate the video.
