If you change rotors, one must set parking brake reset with scan tool. And a measurement tool is needed to set rotors properly. Brakes will need to be calibration for new rear rotors. His video is not illustrating proper rear brake change.
Don't know what you're talking about? What measurement is required to set a brake rotor? Never heard of that in 40 years? Don't need to reset parking brake if the system wasn't touched. You must be referring to the Hybrid model?
Hello! I have panamera turbo 2010. I have to change the rear brake discs and pads. I have a question to remove the brake pads. Do I have to connect the OBD to the car to deactivate the parking brake?
can I get the front and rear rotor sizes in mm please? FCP Euro lists them as such. Great video, and thanks for the nice camera angles! Your efforts are truly appreciated, Mike! God bless!!
Hi mike,i did replace my rear pad on my panamera last week, but for got to disengage the brake before i replace the rear pad, now my parking brake light is on, try to calibrate, but will not allow ,any clue? Thanks
please tell me you released the parking brake actuator with a scan tool before taking off that caliper, there's a proper procedure to follow when doing this job, and I guarantee you there was a grind in procedure with a calibration that had to be done.
I've heard about this before. It must be required on later models? There was nothing available for brakes available when scanned. The parking brake is air controlled and located inside the hub of the rear rotors. Nothing to do with caliper at all. Plus there are no other electrical wires to the brakes except for the wear sensors. Not sure what there is to calibrate? Everything works great! Thanks for Watching!
it's actually more than just a DIY, it requires a grind procedure and calibration for the rear brake pads or else or it'll still be in service mode, this requires a scan tool you can only gain access to at dealerships, and it's actually a pretty extensive job not for the standard DIY.
Awesome Mike! Sometimes when I get bored, I watch your videos again . Question Mike, are all the wear sensors the same or are they like brakes / front wear sensors/ rear wear sensors?
And also Mike, Ive been scouring the internet for how to's on how to lift a panamera because of the air suspension system. Ive heard horror stories of tire shops damaging the system. Is it jack mode on/ control off? Car completely off? You should really do a video for this. I cannot find one across the entire internet.
I guess when you have all 4 wheels off the ground at once that it messes up the suspension. I've heard it needs to be put in lift mode. Not really sure exactly how to do that. I'll have to look into it. Thanks for the idea.
@@mikeshorsepowergarage7577 So one wheel at a time/ car completely off is fine as far as jack mode? Don't have to fiddle w it as long as its one wheel only?
Once again you have made another great video on how to do maintenance on Porsche Panamera brakes. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work.
Thank You and thanks for watching!

You mentioned it's a T55 for the rear pad calipers but what tool did you use on the front caliper bolts?

I didn't have to. Just don't engage parking brake prior to doing the rear brakes.
@@mikeshorsepowergarage7577 thankssss men!!!!
What kind of cleaner do you use

I'm out of town right now. Will get you the info when I return. Thanks for Watching!

Did you remove the rear brake rotor? If you did maybe the parking brake shoes came out of position. Or maybe a sensor came unplugged? Good luck!
I just remove the caliper and replace brake pads and brake sensor only
Hey.mike have you done the air filter yet.
I need to do mine. Curious which part # you went with. Thanks
I used BMC air filter

How do you get Calibration done?
It isn't necessary because the vehicle has brake sensors. I believe calibration is required on Hybrid vehicles?
Calibration has to be done with Porsche's software
This job parts is about less than $1,000.00 for DIY. No rocket science here just a couple of your garage hours of job well done.

Different length cables. Fronts are longer, otherwise they are the same type of sensor. Thanks for watching
music too loud, unnecessary. Thanks for the vid!
