I spent 40p in all on 400g of 80% Cumberland sausages, 6 Warburton's rolls, 6 Warburton's pancakes and a Ginsters pasty by shopping around for 30 minutes for yellow stickers. Do it everyday. My freezer has never been fuller. I've had enough of these supermarket's taking the p**s. We are not in a financial crisis anymore but their prices still keep going up.
I always used to do the yellow sticker thing and saved a fortune. I'm now housebound and stuck with having groceries delivered from the known supermarkets. We get stuck without being able to access even their full range of bargain products for delivery. The supermarkets can also be terrible for sending products with just a few hours on the best before date. Obviously I always complain and get that money back but they're so cheeky.

Tzatziki is good on mint burgers or anything lamb, really (even a lamb joint!)! That's how I have it. Or on kebab when I get home from the Kebab shop, rather than Garlic sauce.
£7 for gyros ? 🤬. You have to kidding me. As I've said many times, I love Gyros. But yet I have to find a Gyros that reminds me of what I loved from a German Schnell Imbiss. Lidl does a reasonable one during it's Greek/Turkey week, and the price is way cheaper. They also do some nice lamb Kofta's in the fresh meat section. A couple of years ago I found a German site that sold Gyros herbs, the same as that Schellies use. The smell and the taste is " spot on ". As for the flat breads and the tzakzi ? Well you can buy cheaper in Lidl or Aldi. Making your own tzakzi is pretty much adding some chopped cucumber to some Greek yogurt. I've just noticed that my spelling of tzakzi is down to auto spelling, so not my fault 🤭🤭. Going back a few years, we had a Trenchard Barracks reunion in Celle. It's now just empty. But the local Schnell Imbiss was still there. They couldn't believe an order of 75 people ordering half henshen mitt pommes, Gyros and Currywurst mitt pommes just landed in their lap. We hope to have another reunion in 2025. Let's hope the Imbiss is still there.
