Our local butcher prepares and sells lots of grill meat. On a black board in the shop it gives the hustory of the meat being sold - tag number, local farm, age, feed, etc.
To be honest it looks pretty decent but for £11.99 my local kebab shop knocks these kind of boxes up and for the sake of an extra £1.99 you get a nice already hot meal served in a pizza box with chips & naan without having to cook yourself i know what one i would choose but thanks for the video :)
I used to work at Grampions Chickens in E. Sussex. On your 1st day, they gave you the last Chapter of the Induction Booklet. It was 'What to do in the case of a 'Animal Rights Group turned up. If you got hurt 'inside the Grounds', you were insured, but outside not. It turns out, it's the Most Protected from Attack Factory in E. Sussex. and I only eat Certified Local Chicken these Days.
Okay I'm going a bit of track here. The other day I said I was having a Vindaloo curry. But I was making it myself. From Lidl I bought a Vindaloo sauce mix, some broccoli and cauliflower florets, a red bell pepper and onions plus a small tin of sliced carrots. They didn't have any beef cubes, so I went all in and bought 2 medallion steaks. I marinated the meat for a few hours in the sauce. Then I cut them into strips. I put them in my slow cooker overnight on low. I steamed the broccoli and cauliflower and added the carrots etc. I got 3 meals out of it. So I spent less than a fiver. I admit the curry wasn't as hot as I would have liked, maybe I should have added some hot chillies from my cupboard. The thing is that was tasty, no chemicals and no fat floating on top. So I guess it was healthy. But getting back to this review? To buy every item would have cost an arm and a leg. Buying it from a take-away? Even more. So I think this review hit the spot and was worth the ten quid price tag for two people.

War and Peace it certainly was! Mechanically separated…chilling. I took your advice and didn’t google it. The red meat reminds me of the breathing masks rubber tubing used by the NHS in the 1980’s. Enjoy!
Yes the tartrazine, I remember from my school days (sought of junior school era) in the early to mid 1980's some of the other children were not allowed to drink orange squash, because of the possibility that it might contain something that would make them hyper active.

Hi Gareth, that greaseproof paper can fly around and catch fire on the element on the top, fair play yours is weighted down with a good amount of food, but I wouldn't advocate their use in airfryers mate.
Damn Soya protein in everything. Why the hell they need to add protein into a meal that should be mostly MEAT is anyone's guess. Apparently there's a new protein source we need to watch out for, called "Acheta powder" or Acheta protein, which is crickets. In theory they should have it as an allergen as it can trigger those with a shellfish allergy, but it's getting damn scary out there, just trying to eat food !!
@@robertcreighton4635 Me too 😂 I just try to keep my addiction to whole foods, mostly failing, but I'll be damned if I'm eating insects. Meat and eggs all the way, with the occasional slip here and there.
I put those air fryer papers under the tray so they act more of a fat catcher and still get a bit of circulation. That looks like a Saturday night donner replacement so I'll give it a go.
Looks delicious, yes, but you know what, nothing beats the kebabs from the bossman on the layby. A few beers down, hearing his life story, getting what I just hope is lamb donner
and more healthy - in fact pet food is more strictly regulated than food for human consumption. A friend worked at a factory in North Yorkshire for 30 years and they canned products for both human and pet consumption and they always had a production like churning out meat balls for a well known brand and half way through the run they just switched the labels to a well known branded dog food without changing anything else. Same product apart from the label !
With pita and salad, that would feed 4 and for a lot less than a take away! The mechanically sorted chicken would've been what you said looked like leg meat. The main slices of chicken kebab meat are from 'stacked' chicken breasts. (I've seen them being made at my local Turkish shop) For two types of meat, a huge salad, tabouleh and hummus, a single serve feeds two and we pay a similar amount to what you paid for all that meat. (I am in New Zealand and a single meal is around $19NZ, with NO pita or bread of any sort) I might be among the few who thinks that meal wasn't such bad value, especially if used as I said at the start - to feed 4, with the required additions. I don't know what a simple red cabbage, lettuce, red onion and carrot mix would cost, but it does make a difference!
I think if I got that for myself first I'd remove the 2 dips and pop them in the fridge to defrost instead. As everything is vacuum packed I'd then (if it was just me) just cook 1 of the 25 minute meats and keep the other for the next day along with a couple of the 15 minute meats. 2 nights dinners, £10
Lol... war and peace... Is that the novel you read after eating this and hitting the loo? Or was that just a reference to the event in the loo itself? Thanks for sharing! San Antonio Tx US.
I have started buying Iceland luxury frozen ready meals and I must say they are excellent. I am of a certain age now which allows me to get a 10% discount on Tuesdays.
If I lived 50 miles away from the nearest Lebanese restaurant, 25 miles from the nearest kebab shop & while really drunk could work out how to cook the thing. I would be tempted to stagger from the Freezer to the oven with a box of this. Not sure anyone with other options would go for it but it looks like a lot of low cost food that is 100% what you want to eat after a lot of beers.
Seems a bit Labour intensive, the sort of thing you wouldn’t want to do after a night out. I think I’d rather just go to the takeaway, but I suppose it’s horses for courses. Well done for interpreting all the sachets. Looking forward to seeing more.
Hi dude. People always talk about Mechanically Separated Meats but at the end of the day it is only wot stock is made from. So if u go to a nice restaurant it used but under a different name. Plus if u are going to kill animals 4 meat u should have the respect to not waste any part of them. Love the content. Have fun Russell.
for £10 i think you can get most of it in separate boxes with more weight and come in at that price. it is a lot of money to spend on it sure you can get it at a take away and get better quality and flavour for near that price. they should have included pitta in it for what you are paying
To be honest for a single person or shift worker a few packets of wraps that would keep you ticking over for a few days I like Iceland cheap but can be tasty too

A bit of salad with it and it's Bob on pal 👍
I hope life is treating you well sunshine👍
I wish we had Iceland in New Zealand. I miss uk foods… that platter is just perfect for me.. and maybe to share with my misses.😊
Hi Gareth, that greaseproof paper can fly around and catch fire on the element on the top, fair play yours is weighted down with a good amount of food, but I wouldn't advocate their use in airfryers mate.
Wish I could get that in Canada looks good for an easy dinner considering I eat mostly meat.
So bad it looks brilliant 👍👌😋 no share !
Just asking would that liner fit under the tray in the air fryer then the air will circulate.?? It do look nice
It’s a way to bulk it out it’s all about profit margins 😢
Crickets? Ffs food is getting bloody worse by the day I'd quit eating, but I'm addicted 😂
It's partly due to greed and partly to do with NGOs dictating what we sub humans can eat.
@@robertcreighton4635 Me too 😂 I just try to keep my addiction to whole foods, mostly failing, but I'll be damned if I'm eating insects. Meat and eggs all the way, with the occasional slip here and there.
@@thefirstmanwho Always has been about profits. Those responsible don't care about anything else, sadly.
I watched you get dressed the other day soldier.... but I have never seen such a manly thumbnail as this! Omg I can smell it! 😅❤
@@ShinjitsuKK haha 😄
I put those air fryer papers under the tray so they act more of a fat catcher and still get a bit of circulation. That looks like a Saturday night donner replacement so I'll give it a go.
Looks delicious, yes, but you know what, nothing beats the kebabs from the bossman on the layby. A few beers down, hearing his life story, getting what I just hope is lamb donner
Good idea we haven't got many places in Orpington what do mixed grills like that or any good the most of the takeaways are a poor
When you start getting into merch, you need to create a t-shirt that says 'We have a tab system'.
Or 'I follow the Spot On man aka Gareth.'
I got a Cesar dog food mid-roll advert. It looked far more appetising than the stuff you're reviewing.
and more healthy - in fact pet food is more strictly regulated than food for human consumption. A friend worked at a factory in North Yorkshire for 30 years and they canned products for both human and pet consumption and they always had a production like churning out meat balls for a well known brand and half way through the run they just switched the labels to a well known branded dog food without changing anything else. Same product apart from the label !
I got a sports clothing advert and it all looked less chewy and far more edible than this food 😂
I am 'absolutely spot on', in case you were wondering 😂
I don't know what a simple red cabbage, lettuce, red onion and carrot mix would cost, but it does make a difference!
might give that a go. now ive been given the go ahead.
Haha 👍
M.S.M. wot do u think stock is made of.
Thanks for thaking one for the team!
I saw a documentary years ago about mechanically recovered chicken 😮🐔. Don't get me wrong, I will still try it. 👍👍
That looked epic, reminds me of a mixed Kebab from my local, chicken tikka, lamb tikka, doner and lamb seek on a naan. Did you eat it all?
HI yes bred is required then you can throw a food party looks good. stay strong . 👌👌👍👍
I might get this but you should of saved it for the weekend and had it with the kids 😊
I made my own kofta kebabs, and chicken tikka, plus onion bhajis last week, got lots more 👍
I have started buying Iceland luxury frozen ready meals and I must say they are excellent. I am of a certain age now which allows me to get a 10% discount on Tuesdays.
You are getting more like Lawrence Olivier every day Gaz ❤❤❤❤
Haha Merry Christmas 🤶 🎄
Been to the country of Iceland 2004 ,bloody expensive or what.Have a good Christmas .The Countess and Daniel Craig (tortoise).LOVE OF MY LIFE
@carolynjones6524 you too Merry Christmas 🤶 🎄
Actually looked quite good, wee bit pricey considering you have to heat it up yourself but nothing is cheap these days
Hi dude. People always talk about Mechanically Separated Meats but at the end of the day it is only wot stock is made from. So if u go to a nice restaurant it used but under a different name. Plus if u are going to kill animals 4 meat u should have the respect to not waste any part of them. Love the content. Have fun Russell.
Not sure why the hate for these, I had one today & tbf they’re pretty good. Can’t get from my local kebab house for a tenner!
Thanks for the review Gaz, definitely will take your advice and not Google that chicken! x❤x 👍🏻
@@delilahboa you're welcome 😊
Looks a decent plateful! We had a 12” Indian grill box last night -£20! Having said that we couldn’t finish it ☺️
for £10 i think you can get most of it in separate boxes with more weight and come in at that price.
it is a lot of money to spend on it sure you can get it at a take away and get better quality and flavour for near that price.
they should have included pitta in it for what you are paying
To be honest for a single person or shift worker a few packets of wraps that would keep you ticking over for a few days I like Iceland cheap but can be tasty too
Looked ok im gonna try
Best wishes gareth 👍
Cheers Kizzy thanks 😊
Do you but the good with your own money Gareth or do they pay to advertise the products ?
Thanks.
My oldest son was allergic to red dye#2 and yellow # 5. It took ages to figure out what made him hyperactive. I’m surprised food industry is still using dyes in food they know can cause problems.
Seems like a lot of faff for very little to me Gareth. I wouldn’t be happy paying a tenner for that either. Great video as always tho mate.
It looks a decent spread and you’d think they would be able to give accurate cooking instructions by now
About 40 years ago I would have eaten all of that with 4 pitta breads.
After the pub and after a joint.
