Shout out to my right arm and leg making a cameo from behind a pillar when I was interviewing the founder of the expo at 20:30. Glad YT put this video in my feed. It was great! Subscribed. And yeah, the difference between the Detroit retro show last year in Livonia and the new venue is night and day.
So fun hearing about your convention experience! I love the little stories about your childhood games like Tetris and Tiger Woods and Phantom Menace, so heartwarming. My dad’s only game he played post-Atari was * checks notes * Waialae Country Club Golf for N64 so I feel you 😂 ALSO I Can’t wait to check out your appearance on JRPG Pursuit after work today, what a great crossover!!!
real happy for you you had a great time at this convention, I haven't had any experience at a video game convention at this point, I know there is one convention in Atlanta but I have yet to check it out. I am also a HUGE PS1 collector, it is the console of my childhood! I love your vibes!
so jealous your parents were into gaming. anything gaming growing up in the 90s was like pulling teeeeeth to get my folks on board. with that being said my parents got me FF7 on PC lollol not before or since have i met anyone that played that game on PC. also, yes more game hunting content.
I’m lucky that being in rural southern IL, I still mostly have all my childhood NES & SNES games b/c we didn’t have Electronics Boutique, Babbage’s, or Funcoland in the transition from NES to SNES so I don’t have any mass trade story like most do. For going to college with PS1, I was on a full academic scholarship so I used my paychecks from the college newspaper, plus usual family gifts, to buy the PS1 games I wanted. I did make a horrible trade while in college that I still regret in trading FF 4/6/CT for a PS2 stereo speaker set that died in 13 months. I’ve only this summer reacquired FF 4/6 SNES, but I don’t know if I’ll ever get CT SNES back.
You should look into the Midwest Gaming Classic in April next year. It is one of my favourite cons in the US. The vendor hall and gaming rooms are mind blowing!
I had to end up rebuying a lot of my PS1 collection too cause I absolutely devastated it when I sold so many to GameStop during the PS2 era. Luckily the ones I had to rebuy weren't to expensive. But The Phantom Menace game was also on my list 😅 lol
Fantastic video! You might want to check your copy of Tiger Woods 99. The first 100,000 copies were pressed with a copy of an early South Park video clip included among the files. Enjoy!
Love your videos, but I do occasionally find the background music a little distracting! It might just be me, but it could be nice to have it a tiny bit lower if you wanted to have background music. Thanks again for the video, love hearing about your day!
Which games do you like the most from the PS1 video game console? I am curious to hear it. There's so many, many, many games, over a thousand infact to choose from. I like all the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro games, typically they are quite fun, I don't know why, they just have a nice story and gameplay to them. There's obviously other great games too, but they're too many to mention. Maybe Final Fantasy 7 or The Simpsons Wrestling, lol. Or perhaps even Frogger for the classic video game people. =)
You know, I'm pretty sure I bought my copy of Chrono Trigger DS from Amazon, and it was sealed, but I don't think it had the poster either... Maybe they did a later print run that didn't have that or something? But anyway, looks like an awesome time, I hope I can get out there one of these years!
most likely, I had gotten chrono trigger brand new in the 2010s that didn't have a poster, also the DS case for chrono trigger is slightly different from other DS cases
@@cougar-town I hear that website is the safest place to get games, I only use it because second hand games can be in a terrible condition. I do understand your point 👍

The Persona 4 music brought back so many memories
I remember phantom menance . I tried to so hard to beat that one and eventually did. I remember camping behind walls and throwing grenades.
So happy that you got all the awesome haul things! Especially envious of the Pokémon Conquest pickup-I’m so tempted to try and find a copy myself
Great haul, Alex!!! Some awesome games in there - I also got Pokemon Conquest at a little con years ago and I need to finally play it!
Great Video, Tetris Plus is such a fun game. Let’s get it!!!

Awww this was such a joy to watch! Loving these game hunting vlogs!
This was the first time I ever went to this show. It was great. Do you know if any other retro gaming shows around this area or in Michigan?

I'm fairly certain you're correct that only the 1st print had a poster. There are two separate entries for it on pricecharting when you search for it.
This is correct, only first print came with a poster.
I love this
I would love to get a ps1 and xeno gears
I rebuilt my PSX collection thanks to emulator paradise, I miss that place 🤣
Beware of potential malware also, always rip from your own discs. Just my recommendation. We live in wild times.
