It depends where you pick it. At this location, because it gets windy, they asked us to cut it off with scissors because it helps to keep the stalk stronger. At other farms we strip the whole leaf off.
how long can they stay in freezer? And once they thaw, do they need to be used right away?
Long time. I use it right away, later on in the day, or put it in the refrigerator or back in the freezer.
