I was going to say, Ulcerate - Cutting the Throat of God is the experience of being pumuld by pure brutality while other time, feeling in trance and calmer plus being blown away by a technical drum part! and the perfect dissonance! and the addition of melodies| god I love Ulcerate!

Love all of these albums in the video. Good to see Convulsing getting talked about. Here's some to add to this list that I absolutely love, and some you guys might've missed... Resin Tomb Exocrine Hideous Divinity Swampbeast Apparition VLTIMAS Antichrist Siege Machine Umbra Vitae Severe Torture Cognitive Hell:On Adversarial Tzompantli Terminal Nation Benighted Suffer (USA) Skeletal Remains Chainsword Spectral Voice Replicant Atræ Bilis Chapel of Disease Vredehammer Slimelord Civerous Apes Vomit The Soul Darkened Fractal Generator Hyperdontia Really surprised Civerous and Slimelord weren't featured on the video, honestly. I think only Ulcerate comes close to those 2 albums this year, as DM goes. Also, Benighted was much better than Aborted' release for me. And generally I prefer Aborted.
Excellent list… great to see some love for Convulsing… some others I would add are Knoll- As Spoken, Upon Stone- Dead Mother Moon, Witch Vomit- Funeral Sanctum, Replicant- Infinite Mortality, Tzompantli- Beating the Drums of Ancestral Force, Baron- Beneath the Blazing Abyss, Darkness Everywhere- To Conquer Eternal Damnation, and Ulcerate- Cutting the Throat of God
Nice picks! Agree with Aborted, Vale of Pnath, Gatecreeper, Vitriol, JfaC,… I’d add Ulcerate, Civerous, Slimelord, Witch Vomit and Tzompantli. From your choices that I haven’t check: I’m intrigued about Convulsing. Keep it up!
Awesome list Forgemasters. I'll check out the new 200 Stab Wounds when it drops next week. Still need to check out the new Vitriol, I've heard great things about them. I loved the new Vale of Pnath, Aborted, Gatecreeper, Job for a Cowboy, Necrot, and Brodequin albums. Some more of my favorite death metal albums of the year would be: Ulcerate - Cutting the Throat of God Hideous Divinity - Unextinct Skeletal Remains - Fragments of the Ageless Severe Torture - Torn from the Jaws of Death Blood Red Throne - Nonagon Master - Saints Dispelled Spectral Voice - Sparagmos Benighted - Ekbom
My favourites so far: Benighted - Ekbom Vitriol - Suffer & Become Unhallowed Deliverance - Of Spectres and Strife Brodequin - Harbringer of Woe Vomit The Soul - Massive Incineration Hiraes - Dormant Post Mortal Possession - The dead space between the stars Orbital Gate - Voyage to the Closing Star
@@forgemastermetal They are also one of the very few bands where I think that bass tone totally works (along with Obscura, Ne-O, and of course Cynic at times). Others have tried to incorporate it and it often just sounds out of place in the mix. But with YFAC, it always fits perfectly.
Job For A Cowboy is the most surprising band on this list. These guys went from "briee, brieeee" to Sun Eater and Moon Healer. Absolutly insane. The themes of the last two albuls (to me of course (subjective)), are incredible.
Ulcerate are so ahead of the competition, that it's not even funny.. 🤗 As far as the 'best of the rest' is concerned, the new Hideous Divinity album is out in front in my ears... 👌 Gatecreeper, Civerous and Slimelord has excellent albums out too.. 👍
I can kind of relate to not being overly thrilled with the death metal this year so far, but I am stoked about a new 200 Stab Wounds album. Darkened out of Sweden also just dropped a new album a few days ago and it's pretty solid if you have not checked them out before.
Great picks. For me: Vale of Pnath: Between the Worlds of Life and Death, Hannes Grossman: Echoes of Eternity, Exocrine: Legend, Gatecreeper: Dark Superstition, In Vain: Solemn.
Necrot's new album is incredible. I'm also loving Wraith's newest, which is more old school thrash. I can't wait to listen to the latest 200 Stab Wounds album you referenced here. And you got me interested in checking out Job for a Cowboy. Thank you.
Love just about every band on this list. Thanks for the Convulsing introduction! I’ll be listening to more of that. But Replacire is dropping easily my most anticipated album in death metal and probably overall this year. They don’t miss
Some great pick's right here! My favorite's so far this year: Ulcerate Engulfed Cutterred Flesh Disbelief Baron Apparition Coffins Skeletal Remains Morta Skuld Chapel of Disease ............... 💀🤘💀🤘💀🤘
To give some love to Melodic Death. I think people should defintiely check out the Nightrage album that came out in May, the Words of Farewell Ep that came out in March, and the Hiraes album that came out in January. If you want something else that's more brutal/technical then check out Cognitive's album from May. Great list/vid guys.
Loving the death metal this year so far. Job For a Cowboy - Moon Healer Aborted - Vault of Horror Benighted - Ekbom Inter Arma - New Heaven Severe Torture - Torn From The Jaws of Death Slimelord - however the fuck you spell their album name haha. It’s amazing though. Gatecreeper - Dark Superstition
I absolutely love the new Dissimulator album, but is it death metal? 🤔 To me, it's more like technical thrash with growls.. 🤷 ..never the less, one of the best albums of 2024.. 👌
Ulcerate definitely death metal album of the year so far... maybe THE album of the year. Besides them, Slimelord, Malignancy, Brodequin and Replicant all bringing the heat. And the new Wormed album dropping in July should be bananas
Looking forward to checking out that Convulsing album! Telling me something is for fans of Ulcerate, Gorguts, and Blood Incantation is akin to telling me a fantasy novel is for fans of Joe Abercrombie 😂 Instant purchase
Thanks for actually playing audio clips of said band you're discussing (short as they are) cause other channels dont do this and its extremely annoying
The only album I've even been interested in is Ulcerate, it's incredible. I'm more looking forward to new Unto Others new album (and hopefully, finally, a new Anthrax album.)
For those who like to look for news out there, there are a lot of good and different bands outside the media.....on this list I would only leave Vitriol....
I enjoyed the album and I don't think it was boring at all. And I'm not a deathcore guy. But I absolutely completely agree that it's far from their best.
We recorded this before Ulcerate dropped. That’s easily the best death metal record of the year. 🔥
I'll consider these all worthwhile runners-up, then! Great video, guys!
And the decade

Shit I forgot to mention The Funeral Procession, that album slays!
"Best Death Metal (Not Ulcerate 'cause it has no competition at all) of 2024"
Hahahah
Maze Envy by Civerous is by far my favourite this year so far from any metal genre, it’s awesome from start to finish!
Tzompantli, Beating the Drums of Ancestral Force is my favorite of the year so far.
Hell to the yes! One the heaviest albums I’ve heard since Disma- Towards The Megalith.

We recorded this before Ulcerate came out! I am sure we will be talking about it for our best of June. :D
@@forgemastermetal I hope so.. 😉
The kind of in your face bass (assuming fretless) on Moon Healer gives me big Beyond Creation vibes. I'll have to check it out more.

Thanks for the suggestion!
Great picks. For me:
Vale of Pnath: Between the Worlds of Life and Death,
Hannes Grossman: Echoes of Eternity,
Exocrine: Legend,
Gatecreeper: Dark Superstition,
In Vain: Solemn.
Vale of Pnath pronounce the P? I googled it and everything says no P sound, so sounds like Noth. Is this true?
Don't know how the band itself pronounce it, but it comes from Lovecraft, and in Lovecraft's case, I don't think the p is sounded.
Yes, you’re absolutely right. It’s pronounced NOTH!!!
Hahaha our pronunciation is not to be emulated!!
Pnath sounds like penis and it’s funnier to me.
Emphasize the P more LOL
Necrot's new album is incredible. I'm also loving Wraith's newest, which is more old school thrash. I can't wait to listen to the latest 200 Stab Wounds album you referenced here. And you got me interested in checking out Job for a Cowboy. Thank you.
Hope you enjoyed them!
Thanks for the list! Got some new stuff to check out. Also I believe it’s pronounced Vale of Nath. The P is silent.
We see a P and we just gotta take it head on sometimes.
Looking forward to the 200 Stab Wounds release! Convulsing is a new one for me, I'll need to give that a sample.
On my list so far : Vale of Pnath, Daath, Vitriol, Vredehammer and Ulcerate. Very very much anticipated : new Nile.
Good call on that Daath. Can't believe we got a new one from those guys.
Can’t wait for 200 Stab Wounds!
Gotta relisten to Dissimulator
Love Necrot, Gatecreeper and Job for a cowboy!!
I love all types of music but there’s just something about heavy metal that resonates with my soul.
Nice Picks! 🤘🏻🖤
Thanks! 😁

Darkened, “Defilers of the Light” and Ulcerate, “Cutting the Throat of God” both came out on June 14; just a little too late for this video I think.
Also some tips the new Despondency and Malignancy, and can't wait for the new Wormed to drop
This. Also that new Gorgasm EP was great 🤘
@@goat666db didn't know they released a new EP, will check it asap.
Solid list. Aborted, Vitriol, jfac, and vale of Pnath are also on my list. One missing is the new The Last of Lucy. It's super good.
Nice choices. Love em all ! Good job fellas. That Necrot album though ... 😏 😅
My favorite DM so far this year is easily Replicant-Infinite Mortality. Slimelord and Civerous are also killer
Great list! I’d add Severe Torture Torn from the Jaws of Death though. That album is solid af
Loving the death metal this year so far.

List incomplete
Unhallowed Deliverance are missing
One of my favourites for death metal this year has been the new Convulsing album. Some killer one man dissonant death metal!
Dissimulator not doing it for me, feels like they cant decide if they want to be death or thrash.
The deathcore slander hurts my soul
We like to jab our friends here and there 🤘😁
You guys forgot Krokmitën "THETA" with John Longstreth on the drums.
I'm only really into the Gatecreeper and 200SW here, but I'm more picky with my death metal than most things
NOTHING better than "a full ass"
Absolutely nothing.
Not sure if it would fall into the category of death metal or not, but the new Antichrist Siege Machine was brutal af!
definitely missing the latest records by Atrae Bilis and Syk here!
Agree with JFAC

Read the pinned comment.
No mention of the new Tzompantli or Pathology albums?
Looks like you got it covered

Nice picks again! Vitriol is just sick - definitely in the AOTY list. My picks would also include Acrid Death, Cognizance, Daath, Exocrine, Vanir.
Great suggestions!
I would definitely throw INTER ARMA in here. Also, too late for this video, but CONSTRUCT OF LETHE's new one is top shelf shit.
Exocrine - Legend was very impressive.
Dissimulator is so good!
Ouyeah and brodequin is on another level...Necrot awesome too!
Vredehammer´s God Slayer its a good one

Vale Of Pnath and Brodequin are killers!
Griefgod, Vomit The Soul, Nekrodawn and Swelling Repulsion are worth a mention. And for sure, new ULCERATE!!!

Benighted - Ekbom.
The new Blood Incantation might be the best of the year !
