Hey dudes! Really great reviews! I’ve found some stuff I didn’t catch first time around so it’s awesome you are doing this. One other 90s debut band I can think of that you guys should review is Internal Bleeding, NYC band that kinda flies under the radar… but they crush. They were right there starting up at the same time period as Suffo and the other NYC heavy hitters and still playing today! Thanks again! Cheers!
I'd add Konkhra's Sexual Affective Disorder, one of the albums that I can listen to anytime. I don't like what they did after... mostly, but the first one is incredible... for me at least.
You guys do these Tier lists better than other metal TH-cam channels I've seen. Some make em and they are so predictable where and when they are going to put the albums. You guys mix it up to keep it interesting, this is how I would make a tier list video.

Happy to see Monstrosity here! Imperial Doom is a underrated GEM of an album. Checkout Massacra's Final Holocaust a relentless vicious record from France.
Here would be my ranking of these 90's death metal debuts. I still haven't heard Drawn or Quartered yet but the rest I have heard, and here would be my ranking: S -- Atheist - Piece of Time, Cynic - Focus, Massacre - From Beyond, Morgoth - Cursed A -- Brutality - Screams of Anguish, Carnage - Dark Recollections, Cancer - To the Gory End, Hate Eternal - Conquering the Throne, Monstrosity - Imperial Doom, Nile - Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka, Vader - The Ultimate Incantation B -- Benediction - Subconscious Terror, Hypocrisy - Penetralia
I’m glad to see cynic and athiest on the list. Focus changed me as a guitar player and musician. Fun fact Jason Gödel of cynic plays on monstrosity imperial doom and contributed solos and some riffs.
@forgemastermetal Cool! Jan-Chris de Koeijer is one of the most unique voices of death metal, although this doesn't really materialize on the early albums. I actually recall all the discussions about whether he's a growler or not...
Nice ranking as usual, only real point of contention is having Haunted over Eaten Back to Life. Then again, Eaten Back to Life was one of the first Cannibal Corpse albums I ever listened, so I’ve got a soft spot.
90's death metal wasn't really my thing. I will say Deicides first few albums are their best, I am sorry I missed that. I started on Cowboys From Hell, Slayer etc. I didn't really get into death metal until after 2005 I think. It was an accidental progression. Now a days I can't get enough Ingested (Another Breath), Health (Rat Wars), Sybreed, Job For A Cowboy (New album is insane, Absent in Body, Darko US, Killing Joke, Paleface Swiss. It is very interesting to hear the progression of heavy music. Thanks for all you guys do.
Massacre 'From Beyond' was released in 1991 alright, but actually the material was basically written back in ca. 1986! The importance of Massacre when it comes to the early development of the old school death metal sound just can't be stressed enough! Right up there with Death and Possessed in that regard! But that Cynic 'Focus' debut is just something truly special; one of the most talented bands ever regardless of genre! R.I.P Sean & Sean.. 😥
@@forgemastermetal You're welcome.. 🤗 Kam Lee of Massacre is almost the prototype, the originator of the infamous death metal growl. Often imitated, but very seldom bettered. I remember seeing Massacre in 1992 on their 'Insanity over Europe' Tour, and I had never up to that point heard a voice more primal and brutal than that of Kam Lee.. 👌 old school death metal nostalgia indeed.. 🤘🤘
There are several debuts where I deviate, but I think is just the way that you're classifying, it might be something generational, but overall cool shit.😂

If you guys like Mercyful Fate / King Diamond you need to check out the Band Attic from Germany, I started listening to them in 2018 with their album Sanctimoneous that blew my mind, they have some new music coming out soon, their singer is pretty Amazing
Yeah imo Focus is one of the best debut metal albums of all time imo. And I do like that Nile album but it did sound like they didn’t really know what they wanted to go for on Nephen Ka (to be fair it’s the debut), sounding like a slightly more brutal morbid Angel. Most everything else they would do is better to me. Also just got done listening to Vader (Great band,Great Discog), I think Ultimate incantation is really fun but De Profundis is just 100 times Better.
