Just an FYI to my 10" drum brethren, the wrench size you need for the brake line is 7/16 instead of 3/8. I think he has the 9" drum here.
Leave a like if I've saved you an unnecessary run to O'Reillys

Oooh man it was your comment I've been trying to find all day, hoping to ID my brakes without having to remove and reinstall them just to go to the parts shop or buying both the 9 amd 10in wheel cylinders and returing one. So in theory the 9in brakes have a 3/8 bleeder fitting and the 10in ones have the 7/16ths?

Yes. Also, depending on the year (mine is a 94), if yours is RWD then it's most likely 9". It's my understanding that all 4WD models have the 10" drum.
Also also, and I found this out the hard way, for some reason there's an additional difference in the size of brake shoes for the 10" drum. This is clarified almost nowhere, but you'll know you have the wrong size when the pin for the E-brake lever will not fit inside the hole it's supposed to go in. I don't fully know why this discrepancy exists, but it does so if you have the 10", I recommend buying two sets of drums from two different brands. O'Reilly's did me wrong for once, but Napa's shoes fit. I'd also bought a set of Bosch shoes off Rockauto as a backup, those fit as well but I went with the Napa's anyways and simply sent them back to Rockauto.
All in all, 9" or 10", buy two different brands of the same size just to be on the safe side. You can aways return one for your money back. Good luck

      The bleeder on a 10inch is also a 10mm

So fun fact, there's a torque chart published in an advisory circular by the FAA that will have each specific torque value required for flared steel lines, flared aluminum lines, and their respective connecting hardware (and thread pitch) being aluminum to aluminum to steel to steel, or a combo of the two.
They even include the formula necessary to calculate the torque changes due to using a crows foot which offsets the wrench from the centerline thus altering the leverage required to torque.
Granted it may seem like overkill, it isn't necessarily incorrect or inconvenient to do it this way.

The 10 inch brake drums are smooth on the outside edge of the drum. On the 9 inch brake drums there are cooling bumps/fins all around the outside edge of the drum. Also, you can simply measure across the drum, it's about 3/4 to 1 inch wider than the brake shoes are. Standard Ranger 2 door models rear wheel drive have 9 inch brakes, the 4 door models such as the extended cab with rear suicide doors have 10 inch brakes. Also, 4wd Rangers have 10 inch brakes. The 10 inch brake drums actually have "10 inch" written on the outside face of the drum.
