Reminds me of that Reagan joke. Gorbachev was late for a meeting, so he jumped behind the wheel and made his driver hop in the back seat. He went flying passed a cop, who didn't dare pull him over. When another cop asked, "Why didn't you pull him over?" he replied "He was too important. I don't know who he was, but Gorbachev was his driver!" (heavily shortened and paraphrased)
Jay Leno is a Joy to listen to him - he's the perfect rich family member that comes over for Thanksgiving and never is showing off he knows he made it better than anyone else in the family but because he is loved by everyone we ignore he's a millionaire,
When these came out I was working in Saudi Arabia. I had read that the first year would be restricted to Germany so the factory could test and keep an eye on them. The very next night I was invited to a wedding party at a private compound and out in front was parked a two tone grey Maybach! I later found the owner who told me he lived in Germany and shipped the car out that day on an airplane! He then gave me a tour of the car and a quick ride down the laneway. No one else even noticed the car. I think they were beautiful, they have the luxury stance of a Rolls and the taunt lines of a powerful GT car, subtle beauty. The rear quarter and aggressive fenders are a thing of beauty.
This episode didn't end with the signature horn, Always enjoy seeing Jay and his garage episodes, glad to see him back out and about after the motorcycle crash, unless this was recorded earlier, anyway best wishes for quick, full recovery.
Hello to all you motor enthusiasts! I enjoy watching both Jay and Hoovie for years! I wanted to reach out to the community and inquire if a charity could help out an aging farmer from IA. Gary, is my father-in-law. He is such a hard-worker and never would want to ask for help. He is always the one to assist a neighbor before asking for anything in return. It's hard for me to standby and see his daily struggles, since suffering an accident at his farm that left him paralyzed from the waist down. This happened over 10 years ago and after being released with this life changing disability, instead of sitting on the side line and feeling sorry for himself, he was back out at the farm and trying to engineer ways to get in the tractors/combines as he had a family to take care of. His 2005 Chevy Silverado (handicapped equipped) has run its course and is in dire need of replacement. It has a lift in the bed of the truck to lift out his wheel chair to place by the cab for him to transfer to. All these parts and the truck itself is always in need of constant repair. He LIVES to be on the farm and taking his means of transportation/freedom, is heart wrenching. Not sure if Jay or Hoovie could find or know of contacts that could help with a replacement. But knowing this community, hoping I could help this kind loving father/grandfather out.
I found Hoovie by watching this episode, and I must say I’m addicted to his TH-cam channel ever since. I’ve been a Jay Leno fan half of my 65 years on this planet. I thoroughly enjoy both shows now.
My last car was a Lexus GS300SE that was bought for much less than 10% of its initial purchase price with 100K on the clock. Everything on it worked as though it had just left rolled off the production line and I drove it for four years, covering nearly 50K miles, during which time I spent money solely on tyres and brakes. Depreciation was almost nothing over the period of my ownership. I regularly buy high-mileage prestige cars and enjoy luxury for very little money. If people see no value in good cars with a few miles on the clock, that is their problem.
It's been awhile since I've watched Jay Leno's Garage. He has aged, but with such dignity and it really shows why he is such a good role model and always has been. Loved this slower paced episode, hope to see more like it on TH-cam and on the TV.

Wow, it's a real time capsule for me. My father picked up a 62 Cadillac limo for 5k in like 70 when I was 2yrs old. My Mom managed to fit a 'baby pen' or whatever they are called in between the back of the front seat and the front of the back seat. Same basic set up as this young gent. It worked very well looking back for my parents. Unfortunately, I don't remember any of it, except from some old snap shots! Thanks, for this show Jay!
Hello I work for a Mercedes-Benz in Buffalo New... These are by far the most highly complicated pieces of machinery one could purchase. Next up will be the space shuttle. Thank you,
There's no "chemistry" or "dynamic" between the two, it's Jay all the way, being the legend that he is and showing his graciousness to the kid, being genuinely interested in the car, learning about it, enjoying driving it. He does get his digs in too, making himself the Pope driving the driver because he just likes the car, that's classic.
Tyler is to Hoopties in the same way that Mr Leno is to all things Jeans. So many intersecting interests here, cars, mercs, and comedy. Really enjoyed the episode. Two of the first you tubers I have started watching when I was buying my first Mercedes back in 2016 and have not stopped watching you both since. Very surreal to have you in the same show, would save my hours of you tube time if you could just team up already. Love from Down Under mates

The burn damage further aged his voice. And shortly after this filming he wrecked a motorcycle and broke some ribs. Poor Jay is going to need a chauffeur soon.
@@gtownrivera true, and this was filmed right after his release from the burn unit and before he wrecked on his motorcycle pulling into a lot with an unflagged cable stretched across. He was lucky to only break a few ribs, it could have been much worse.
Hey Tyler~That's incredible you got a s62 for $40k. We've had five 62's and paid full price for the first one, and bought the last one 4 years ago for $195k. The first time I drove one was in Carmel in 2003. It was like driving Jay's CL 65 AMG. I drove another one on the track in Fontana. The 3rd car got broadsided in Scottsdale and totalled out. It's a super safe car no one was hurt. Glad you got the car and the kids like it too! Have lots of fun!

Jay seems like such a genuine and down to earth guy. What a pleasure to watch this episode. And Hoovies constant barrage of beautifully crafted jokes didn't phase him a bit. What a gentleman.
This was great, Hoovie is a good Midwestern guy, full of self-deprecating humor but he's very intelligent. Tyler comes from a wealthy family, so he also grew up knowing how to talk to Rich folks like Jay which honestly is quite challenging.....So it can make a conversation like this not awkward.
i feel like hoovie throws himself into terrible situations because he knows how to get out of them..hes a smart guy, you can see it in his confidence talking to jay and making him open his door for him xD
I chuckled when you mentioned taking a nap in it. I used to work at a high end dealership in Milwaukee and I had my lunch break a few times in the back of one of these on the showroom floor. It was kept locked so a customer would have to request to see or sit inside. 🙂
I was a valet back at The Phoenician in Scottsdale Az back in 02-04, when i first saw and got to park this car. Its crazy how much more luxurious then top of the line "regular" mercedes when it came out. Great convo between them two! Good watch :)
So glad Jay is still doing these videos. Honestly I think these are the best car videos being made if you want to learn about a car. Genuinely informative, entertaining, well filmed without being overly frenetic or gimicky, these are made for true pistonheads. Also, Jay doesn't care if he does or doesn't get to drive the latest supercar, and he's not going to pretend that he loves something to keep marketing executives happy.
Beautiful automobile! Can remember talking to the Maybach dealer in Hong Kong back in '06 and him telling me a Chinese cattle ranch owner just bought two 62's with cash. With the 100% import duty to China that must have been a little over a $1million. Still have visions of him driving those things through the dirt roads.

I've followed Tyler since he had the M-Class stolen and recovered and he's come such a long way since then. And of course Jay is a legend. You two are brilliant together so hope there is more to come! Really enjoyed this guys
Jay is just so cool
and smooth.

This is exactly what I love about the 600. That Solid Sound when closing the door. It indicates the vast ammount of Quality this vehicle has. Perfection. Just Goosebumps for me.
The car is so calming, I thought Jay might doze off there for a moment. Tyler must be proud to have Jay approve of his purchase and tell him he got a deal.
Jay might have, Hoovie was really trying to have Jay activate the massaging seats! Lux!
I love how Jay says "you know those rich people don't like old cars hanging around" .... had to laugh when a multi-millionaire talks about "other" rich people. Great video with Hoovie, really enjoyed it more since I used to live in Wichita not far from his house. Thanks guys !!
It's always a pleasure to hear Jays and the owners passion when it comes to all these motorcycles and cars. Not only was this episode no exception but the chemistry between you guys made this episode even better.
Respect to Hoovie. Great job matching up with Jay.
Love that Hovey is totally unintimited by Jay. " You going to open the door for me?"
Then he almost sheepishly added, "please?" after a half-second thought! 😄
Why would he? He's another guy who puts pants on the same way..
Two of my favorite car video icons here. Jay and Hoovie both love the cars as much as the rest of us do and it shows.
I found Hoovie by watching this episode, and I must say I’m addicted to his TH-cam channel ever since. I’ve been a Jay Leno fan half of my 65 years on this planet. I thoroughly enjoy both shows now.
We need more of these two!!
12:33 My Goodness. The sound the door made when it closed! Could bring down the whole building.
Probably my favorite episode yet! We need more Jay and Hoovie collabs
Jay's Arnold impression is hilarious
It's been awhile since I've watched Jay Leno's Garage. He has aged, but with such dignity and it really shows why he is such a good role model and always has been. Loved this slower paced episode, hope to see more like it on TH-cam and on the TV.
It's great seeing Jay Leno & Tyler Hoover together in a fun video!!! 👍👍🙂
Quite the bonus today. Two of my favorite youtube channels together. Can't get much better than this.
"Mechanical things break, electronic things degrade" THIS is why you will never see current days supercars running on its own in 2040. Pebble Beach concours.
My 2 favorite car nerds on the planet! What a TEAM these 2 would make............
18:00 I love an uncomfortable silence. Great editing. This is the duo that I needed and finally got. Love these guys.
Jay, as a Mercedes-Benz owner-driver it is always interesting to me to see the technology the engineers come up with.
I absolutely love the rapport between these two. I hope they get to do more together.
“ I got the tail pipe hooked up to the backseat” these two are hilarious together!! 😂😂😂
Jay looks like it’s nap time! That car must be insanely smooth and calming to put Leno in this state of mind
Thank you,
What the electronics, the engine , the doors , what's so complicated ?
I can guess , probably everything together right?
There's no "chemistry" or "dynamic" between the two, it's Jay all the way, being the legend that he is and showing his graciousness to the kid, being genuinely interested in the car, learning about it, enjoying driving it. He does get his digs in too, making himself the Pope driving the driver because he just likes the car, that's classic.
Absolute incredible deal hoovie got on this car every time he shows it he mentions another feature on it
Just wonderful entertainment by two of my favourite youtubers... top shelf.
As a Finn I have difficulties with most of the American tv due to all fake and scripted no-brainer-stuff. Then, this duo I could watch all day, so genuine and enthusiastic towards cars. Well done Tyler! And of course, Jay is a legend.
As Jay gets older he's sounding more and more like Vito Corleone.
No, hoovie will never be in the same level as Leno. At about the 21 minute mark Leno actually yawns. I actually turned to another episode. Hoovie is immature boring and ridiculous and that's for starters.
The burn damage further aged his voice. And shortly after this filming he wrecked a motorcycle and broke some ribs. Poor Jay is going to need a chauffeur soon.
I don't think so. Jay just looks tired and sleepy in this video . Probably did not have enough rest .
Jay is looking older, also seems to have less energy than when he was younger which is normal.
@@gtownrivera true, and this was filmed right after his release from the burn unit and before he wrecked on his motorcycle pulling into a lot with an unflagged cable stretched across. He was lucky to only break a few ribs, it could have been much worse.
Thanks Jay, that was fun. You and Tyler are two of my favorite car guys. So it was cool to you two play it up a bit.
"I've got the tailpipe hooked up to the back seat" 🤣I laughed so hard at that! Jay certainly hasn't lost his sense of humor!
This duo is amazing.
This video is an internet achievement. So glad this exist. Shout out to Tyler for reaching this far and teaching on how to see value on cars and what they have to offer.
Jay seems like such a genuine and down to earth guy. What a pleasure to watch this episode. And Hoovies constant barrage of beautifully crafted jokes didn't phase him a bit. What a gentleman.
Loving the crossover of two of my favorites
Hoovie! Always fun watching you shine and great for Mr. Leno to host you and feature you’re car. I hope you’re both well.
Hoovie is the best car TH-camr hands down.
But he kept talking about his children interacting with the car--something Jay does not relate to at all!
Good post....it's self "Deprecating"
In other words the rich stay rich.
Stunning thanks for sharing with us Jay
What a fantastic duo!
man, it would be a dream come true to visit Jay's garage... so much passion and what a collection!
I love the humour of both and their taste in cars, what more could you want
What makes Jay such a great guy is that he treats everyone with such great respect, Hoovie we are green with jealousy, your so blessed!
Loved it when Tyler told Jay to open the car door for him!😂😂
I chuckled when you mentioned taking a nap in it. I used to work at a high end dealership in Milwaukee and I had my lunch break a few times in the back of one of these on the showroom floor. It was kept locked so a customer would have to request to see or sit inside. 🙂
Hope your feeling better Jay. My Mondays aren’t complete without these shows. Humor to boot and the cars!♥️
Nice to see Hoovies helping up and coming new TH-cam channels. This Jay fella seems like he knows a thing or two about cars.
Jay and Tyler thank you for the laughs and making a great video. You two sure make a great combo of car knowledge and joking around together!
I was a valet back at The Phoenician in Scottsdale Az back in 02-04, when i first saw and got to park this car. Its crazy how much more luxurious then top of the line "regular" mercedes when it came out. Great convo between them two! Good watch :)
Best match of guys ever in the automotive,
Ce clip est l’un des meilleurs dans le domaine. Et le plus convivial. J’adore.
Merci à vous deux.
This is such a wonderful collab. Never expected to work so great!
Thanks, guys! I watch both your channels religiously, so to see you both together is quite the treat! ✌️❤️🙂🇨🇦
Very fun conversation between these two wise guys. It was great seeing Hoovie in the back seat. Loved the “Collision Course” DVD.
Hoovie is such a great guy, and I love it that he's making a ton of money and spending most of it on hoopties!
This is great. Two of my favorite car personalities, going back and forth. These guys just know their cars. Jay simply has more to reference from. Jay is unparalleled!
Did you just tell Jay Leno if the comedy thing doesn't work out, he could come drive for you? 😂🤣😂🤣
Yes he did. You heard it also? I don't think he's going to reply.
@@byronp8158 Der. Lol
I can't find Hoovie's video
Notice how humble Jay became when he got into the driver's seat
