FINALLY a normal comparison of a macbook and a windows laptop. I'm so tired of one-sided reviews from a gamer's point of view, who care about how much fps in dota, what colors of the rainbow the keyboard glows with and how many million hertz their screen is
Me and my SO finally jumped ship to the M3 MacBook Pros. I think it's about 13 years for both of us since we've had a MacBook in the house. The battery life is so good, I wouldn't look at anything else if I already had a gaming desktop PC personally.
I know its probably too late to do a reivew on the g14 of this year but i would genuinely love to see one from you, i love all your takes on your videos and love all the progress you've done through out the years keep it going
that screen wobble is horrendous on the Asus. especially visible when you were typing them side by side. Asus shaking a lot and MacBook so sturdy did not flinch. You make great videos, keep up the good work.
Honestly, I've just been on my XPS 17 and I haven't turned back. i9, 4080, 64GB of RAM, Two 4TB SSDs, 4K, Windows 11 Pro. Easily a laptop I can use for 10 years. $5,200 price tag, but it was worth it. Sure, any gaming laptop for that price would perform faster but sometimes you need a reliable machine that you know for a fact won't fail on you. I'm planning in the future to upgrade the 2 4TB SSDs to 2 8TB Gen 5 SSDs when those become a thing, and 96GB of DDR5-5200 just to fully max out the specs.
First time watching a video from you, and man, you're really good. Comparisons should be like this. I'm glad TH-cam recommended your video to me. + 1 sub
Bro! Your videos are so good, really appreciated this one. Just picked up the 4060 version for light video editing/beginner game dev stuff. I'm stoked.
This is a great review, thank you. I like the fact that you're coming into this with what seems like a strong Mac familiarity. With regards to dual-booting Linux/Windows, I might suggest that's still useful in some developer contexts, but it's much easier to simply run WSL2.
Usually i do design with a medium workload and worklflow. But lately i went to explore 3D sculpting and rendering in blender, it's so draining comparing windows and mac which both of them have a different advantage but not with the Apple Ecosystem. Thanks man, for the video!

i tested out the P16 and compared it to my macbook air scrubbing timeline in davinci and i found that that windows was a bit lacking in smooth scrubbing. There would be a delay when you are jumping timelines and on the macbook air, it would play back super fast without delay which was surprising to me cause the P16 has a 4070 to rely on. And these tests were using the same clips and also both on internal storage
Thats because cinebench is the biggest piece of lying shit. The m3air is just about as fast as a AI 365 or 8945hs max tdp. And the unified memory + arm SVE makes it much faster when working with big matrices aka photos and video
@@sampakpak yep. I had a m2air in 2022, it was my first apple silicon mac. It was great, not powerful enough and lack of ram and storage for me. Than i got my m1max 16inch 10/32 64g 1tb in Q3 2022, that was a monster laptop at the time nothing came close in performance. Now i use a 13700H 4060m premium asus laptop. Not too bad but even 13gen and meteor lake is slower than M1max. 4060m is also a bit slower than m1max. I hope the M4pro macbook pro will be a worthy upgrade with the new arm V9 architecture
Oh wow.. Yeah I hope the M4 Mac’s will be amazing. I’m hoping to get that when it comes out. Might just trade in both my air and Mac Studio for it. Thinking of just getting 1 computer for everything and have that portability
nice review. I would love another USB4 in the P16 on the other side. Also, you went a bit easy on apple display. You quoted color coverage of the Asus but you did not for Apple. The Mac does not even cover 100 of P3 and does a mid-tier 85-90 adobeRGB. The P16 is miles ahead in terms of color for professional work. A significant, unfortunate, omission on your part on an otherwise nice video.
Great review and comparison! However, I have some concerns about the heating and cooling performance of the Asus laptop. I understand that some tests might not have made it into the final video. Still, the Asus laptop being placed on a mat, which significantly restricts airflow (as seen at 6:28), raises questions about the fairness of the comparison. The laptop's ventilation holes on the back cover were visible during disassembly, suggesting potential airflow issues when the laptop is placed on a mat. While it's possible that the full test wasn't captured, the presented footage raises some valid concerns.
I'm a user of Asus TUF Gaming F15 with Intel Core i5 11th Gen + RTX 3060 6GB GPU. But I would say that battery performance is very good because I'm using this laptop for editing photos & videos as well as sometimes basically, I play games whenever I get time. But battery is amazing of this laptop.
Great video I’d be interested to see how well the asus holds up over time compared to MacBook I feel MacBooks just last so long than the competition in regards to hardware and stay efficient etc. I love your videos nice work 👍
It’s soooo hard. I’m in the market for a new laptop right now (not in the biggest hurry tho…) I love MacBook, imo the really laptop experience with the great battery to performance ratio. My only problem is that I’m a product designer and I work a lot with 3D CAD software, and we all know MacBooks are not the best at rendering 3D scenes. The jump of interest in 3D with the M3 series really has me hoping the M4 series will be even better at 3D! Otherwise this Asus Proart P16 is looking like an amazing runner up!
For the price, the built quality, the reliability. the aesthetic, the Apple ecosystem, and resell value, the 16"MBP is definitely the one to invest in.

MacBooks don’t have vents at the back, whereas Windows laptops do. Do you think this could bother you? I mean, you can use a MacBook directly in bed, but I don’t think using a Windows laptop that way would be a good idea, as it could interfere with the laptop's cooling system by blocking the fans at the bottom.

MacBooks beat any other laptop brands by far.
That wiggling while typing on the P16... HUGE no.
Honestly I liked the studio book. I feel like ASUS went backward, losing the haptic touchpad and 120Hz display.
Imagine if that laptop in the thumbnail was real
@Andresviidoza yes that sounds nice totally real person from the video
I bought the MB M3 Pro and it was super slow when editing on PP and Divinci Resolve. Not sure if I got a dud.
I dont know if you mention it but the asus screen is moving all the time when u type and use the trackpad. This looks very cheap and annoying
The force to press the Asus notebook was noticeably weaker 🤣
we need yr pc wallpaper link
Got a P16 2 weeks ago. Had to send it back. Wont power on or charge. Tried everything still doesnt work. Im from New Zealand so they will send a me new unit or try fix it... If it still decides to shit itself after the second time they will offer me a complete refund. We have great consumer protection laws over here. It really is an amazing laptop. Im just worried it will do the same thing now. Even more worried it will do it outside of its warrantee period. Good luck out there guys. The world can be a harsh mistress. Tonight is forever night.
If Apple makes the MacBooks attractive for gaming purposes I don’t think there’d be a real competition anymore :)
What if apple makes gaming laptop
The mac in this video is over 2000 dollars more expensive than the Pro Art. Ofcourse there is going to be real competition, especially when you can get 90% of the product for thousands less.
