liz i looooove how diverse your inspo pics/models always are!!!! you're always so thoughtful and inclusive about it. it should be a very normal and regular thing but unfortunately i really don't see much diversity from most other ppl!! much appreciated
Yes! I've had the same thought as a wheelchair user. Her and Hannah Louise are the two I always notice being "effortlessly inclusive" but I know it takes time to find so I really appreciate it.
Liz, I just have to mention how meaningful it is that when you showcase cool and aspirational fashion ideas, you always include plus size women. I have always been plus size, and I have mostly come to terms with it and mostly accept my body, but it has always been clear to me that in our society, a bigger body is never "aspirational." Nobody would want to look like me, given a choice. Thin women or women with so-called "straight sized" bodies would never aspire to look like a plus size woman (and in fact, for many "normal" sized women, gaining weight and becoming plus-sized is their literal nightmare). So, I am so appreciative that you, who are not plus size and have a larger social media following, make it a point to be so inclusive and show a ton of plus size women looking cool and fashionable. Proud of you! You're using your platform for good instead of evil! Hugs!
This reminds me of what Hannah Louise Poston says about turning down the volume on color and pattern in order to turn up the volume on silhouette and texture
I love hearing you talk about nuance; it feels like a useful way of looking at how drawn I am to strange, unique items but then the ways I choose to style them that isn't so in-your-face.
I second this! I got really into commuting by bike lately and I cannot wear what I wore before, I need to consider the exercise I'll do to get anywhere, and I'm really trying not to carry another whole ass outfit in my backpack lol. It's a struggle.
I'm with ya on the thick scarves. They just get too hot and then you have a big bulky thing. I know you were talking about thinner scarf material in this video so hear me out: double thin scarf on colder days. You get to play with color/pattern mixing, and if you get hot, you can take one off and still have a cute scarf on
This is an amazing idea! I struggle with scarves, because skinny ones often leave some skin uncovered on the neck and I get cold, but giant ones are too bulky. I think I need to try this, thanks!
I'm on 3 of your trend hype trains: - Yes to nuance/60% maximalism - I'm with you on having a hard time thinking of my outdoorsy clothes and gorpcore fashion. I really need to rewire my brain, because I like the trend. - I'm excited for barrel leg pants, but I prefer more oval shaped that has less width in volume than a full on circle and I also need to figure out how to translate that to a top. - Oh and Percia is so awesome and has so many interesting and creative ideas!
yes the round pants!! i've been very into "lantern" pants and similar, sort of cropped wide leg pants that taper just a liiiitle bit at the bottom - when you talked about it i immediately thought of my "chef pants" from MEALS (which i got because i had been wanting white baggy cargo style pants for a long time and was influenced by kathleen illustrated when she got hers) and then you showed a picture of them! (the yellow ones at 11:07) which is basically to say that you articulated your point very well because i was able to picture what you meant before i even saw the pictures. love the comfy effortless casual vibes. if anyone is looking for that style i can recommend the brands MEALS, yushi, and cut loose - which have all served me very well over the years. i recommend getting them secondhand or asking for them as a gift because they can be expensive, esp. the MEALS ones... those have been the sturdiest though and feel like they'll last forever.
I have been loving the dark green top (either coat or sweater)and dark blue jeans look. There is just something about it that calm my brain. I have been loving lacy tops and long witchy skirts. I usually do, but this period even more. I usually wear overalls very frequently, but now, I swear, it is constantly. The way I throw on a turtle neck sweater and some comfy overalls with some high rise white Nike's or my black doc martens is something else. I can't stop wearing this combo.
I love watching your videos from an anthropological perspective. I do not follow trends (not because I'm 'cool' but because I'm old and stubborn), and it's so much fun seeing what people see as trendy. And Liz has great energy of course And part two. Such amazing diverse pictures (as a fat disabled person I appreciate it)
I'm continuing to love styling maxi skirts for fall and winter! obsessed. and layering them over one another? obsessed. I also can't stop wearing fit + (slightly) flare pants that are casual and comfy. I recently realized I own barrel-ish jeans in burgundy and you're right, they're extremely comfy, so they're my most worn jeans lately!
I love poofy pants they are so comfy and fun. I love dressing like an undercover clown, but they look really good just as regular people clothes too. They have been pretty popular in Chinese fashion for a while, I'm glad it's getting more popular over here as well:D
Omg I recently got a chocolate brown poncho! I love it sm too, I went shopping for christmas tree ornaments/tinsel and wore it that day with corduroy dark green pants....felt very 'month before dec/christmas' ❤️🔥🎄
Yes to the lifestyle also just being your style! I always admired gorpcore and athletic clothing but I felt silly wearing it because it didn't "fit" me and my lifestyle. But in the last few years I've become more and more active and outdoorsy, and those clothes have now found their way into my wardrobe first for utility, but now for my daily wardrobe. It makes me feel more like me ✨
I could not believe my eyes! I started making my 2025 closet plan just recently and I have some of the EXACT SAME points as you said here. Our style is so different yet our inspiration is so similar!
i’ve been searching for the perfect poncho at the thrift forever 😭 i did absentee vote last month though, so hopefully the beep energy will help me out on the next trip 🤞🏻
I have a pair of harem pants with like....a serious excess of fabric so they definitely are "round." They've been my favorite pants for like 8 years now bc you can wear them in any season! Cotton so super breathable but you can easily layer with tights.
I, like everyone else, have been loving gingham and I’m so happy that i can embrace all the Gingham/plaid items I’ve collected over the years, my fav is this sage green gingham maxi skirt with lace details and POCKETS! I so agree with nuance, have always felt like my outfits needed more and I’m really trying to embrace accessories and layering. it’s becoming summer in Australia and layering is impossible
I bought a poncho at a vintage store last month, it's cashmere/wool and a wonderful bright-yet-dark purple! Wish I had gotten it just a smidge earlier because then the weather turned, and it would have been perfect for the in-between time, but not for coat weather.
I love your description of the kind of style you are enjoying rn- it really resonates with me as it's similar to my approach to fashion. I recently used the 3 words method to define the style I'm going for- Comfortable, Playful and Modest. I know modest is a bit of an outlier, but to me it refelects a minimal, paired-back style with playful patterns, colours and fabrics. Plus full coverage outfits give me the confidence to be playful in movement and enjoy layering. I'd love to see a video of you creating outfits with your own 3 words in mind ❤ excellent vid as always!
You talking about bouldering made me so excited, I've also been into it for a year or so! And I feel so heard, the people at the gym are literally the coolest and all my bouldering friends are style icons, I'm always aspiring to be as cool as them 😭
My eyes lit up at fireman clasps, omg! I didn't know the name for those but I am also deeply drawn to them. Big ups for Percia! Also very interesting discussion of "Nuance" -- it's something I've noticed in my own style that I also feel is why I love your style and content so much. There is potentially an analogy to be made with the volume of your outfit: does it shout? Whisper (this is giving Succession vibes suddenly)? Have an outdoor voice or an indoor voice? I definitely feel that I can run across a range of volumes in terms of my outfits, and they often strongly correlate to my confidence levels on a given day. Awesome mood = hot pink hell yeah. Okay mood = neutrals with a pop of color.
I feel like ponchos for me are like long denim skirts for you- had one as a child and, despite being essentially wrapped in a blanket and still being presentable seeming like the dream, I can't see them as something adult me would wear at all! But like, I guess that's good, bc it means we have different tastes and don't all dress the same!
I've been thinking about short capelet poncho things for a few years, so I guess I need to get on that! I have always loved those toggle closures that look like horn, but I think I would like to make some with sticks. They are in that two piece family, tho. Thank you for sharing your recent inspiration, it always makes me think!
Omg the mountain climber/hiker aesthetic 😅. I feel so validated! As a dog walker this is how I dress most of the time and I would feel sad that it's not "fashion-y" but I've been trying to merge the two lately.
I swear there is like a fashion collective conscious sometimes, lol. Im not a pintrist insta or tik tok girly, and I still pick up on things. We all just vibe. ✨️
I've loved gorpcore since I learned about it during covid. I have a puffer vest that I wear every winter and I just got a new The North Face fleece jacket for my birthday! Can't wait to style it.
Yessss environment hugely influences style! It’s not just weather, it’s also about the vibes of places and what you’re comfortable expressing. I’ve lived in Australia (two different major cities), London, Cardiff, and San Francisco, and I dress differently in all those places. I think because I’m a fashion girly I tend to tailor my style to the vibes of places more than if I wasn’t, but it’s also about social climate and whether standing out because of clothing is going to be a good thing or not 😅 I know I definitely dress more 💅quirky💅 in SF, more 💄classy💄 in London, and in my hometown in Australia I overthink everything because I’m caught between old and new versions of myself :’-)
I am loving ponchos as mental and visual protection against the current and impending conditions in this part of the world after Tuesday. I'd love a video with your ideas about protective/warning (ala poison bugs) styling ideas.
Once more applauding your super diverse reference and inspo pics! My favorite chapter was "Nuance" - I feel like I completely got what you were trying to grasp, so: great job! These types of videos (explaining specific outfit concepts or types, styling them on yourself and giving lots of pics by other people) are my absolute favorite on your channel. That said, I am also very interested in the topics you said that they were "worth a whole video on their own".
i love how specific these were though, cuz it felt like we were just chatting about things you're excited about! the "nuance" one made total sense with the reference photos, and those are some of my favorite looks to see (probably why i like your fashion even though it's often quite different from my style!). they're all so interesting! the only one i really disagree with is the striped circusy pants...i didn't expect to hate them but for some reason i do haha. and i think i still prefer a wider scarf. as for thinks i'm excited about, i'm into thick sweaters with interesting patterns. like that girl you reposted on insta with the cute witchy outfit has been my new fixation. i need her sweater collection!! and i just got a pixie cut so i'm exited for little clips and hats to accessorize my nonexistent hair haha.
ah ha, I found a crotched pocho last year in a thrift store, lovely shades of brown. I do have a turquoise mohair also one which is sadly in back in the UK..Im in France and whilst my ponchos lean towards bo-ho I did see a young woman the other day with a poncho but she wore it with a thick belt, in a neutral cream and slicked back hair, very chic. I also understand as you describe how your environment shapes your style. Being a Brit Im used to chilly autumns, here in France it's just to mild so all my knits etc are forgotton about..and by winter I want to wear black, red and glitter!
I totally agree that a person's location influences their style. I'm in the southern US where winters are very mild and autumn lasts only a few weeks tbh. I wish i could live out my layered fashion dreams, but it's just not practical for most of the year. So i either have to get really creative with fabrics or find other ways of expressing myself that won't make me sweat lol I'm thriving during this time of year btw and wearing my first turtleneck despite it still being in the 60s lol I also voted early! Less lines 💜
For coat closures I like : buttons, ties, zippers, toggles, then the fireman thing. I don’t think I have seven trends persay that I’m excited about, except for barrel jeans. I think I’ve picked out my pair to try. I am very bottom heavy so I don’t know how they’ll look on my body type but I’m interested to find out.
the vertical stripe trend is so fun to me but probably bc beetlejuice is one of my favorite fall movies lol. they're probably a bit difficult to thrift BUT they could be so easy and fun to DIY! nothing a little fabric paint and tape can't handle...!
Theory: Is the nuance conversation largely about color? Because it seems like all the cool shapes and patterns fit into your inspiration pics but everything is in more subtle colors with less contrast. As someone with pretty low contrast/neutral coloring I totally agree with you on clever/interesting style with edge but not high-volume maximalism.
I got that blue and white sweater at 10:03 from a garage sale this summer and cannot wait for colder weather to wear it!! The clasps were one of my favorite parts about it 😂
I am always gobsmacked by the way algorithms and style interact... here I was thinking my recent fireman-clasp jacket Pins were a unique niche find, but alas... I have been influenced once again. Not mad. Just gobsmacked.
I feel like those stripped pants wouldn’t be too hard to make, especially from bold stripped sheets!! Love the model diversity as always and fun video vibes!
Gorpcore, totally unheard of to me, is how I LOVE to dress, but I've never known what to look for, because Streetwear doesn't quite cut it.. but now I know, so thank you! 😄
Ive also struggle to describe the 'nuanced outfits' as you put it. 😂 But this fashion style is also much easier to combine with sustainable fashion: the outfit is about the combination of items, not about One amazing nieuw pair of pants or top. With the latter, you would feel the need to keep buying new stuff. Its why I enjoy your channel, your style focuses on combining all of your already owned clothes in continous new, surprising ways. ❤
You would like the Pacific Northwest. It is super common to dress like you might go on a hike or ride a bike, even in Seattle. It's just how a lot of people dress normally.
Can you maybe sometime talk about how to combine fashion with everyday. I sometimes have a hard time putting outfits together or i buy stuff that i find beautiful, but never wear, because it is not practical for everyday life. For example i bought these very pretty knee high boots that have heels. I was so inspired by cute pinterest outfits with high heeled boots, but in everyday life i never wear them because i am so uncomfortable in high heeled shoes and i stand all day at work. And when i wear them to "special events" like christmas or something i feel stangely overdressed, because i usually don't wear shoes like that, if you know what i mean. I think about my purchases more now because of that, but i just thought maybe thats an interesting video idea, how to think about purchases before buying something and how to incorparate more "stylish" outfits into everyday life.
Look up Liz's video "How I Found My Style & The Confidence to Wear It"! Some thoughts from me: the obstacle can be a real, practical obstacle (standing all day isn't that comfy in heels) or in your head (feeling uncomfortable wearing something new). For the first one, think about what you can adjust: block heels are comfier, and lower heels too. For the second, you'll need to do immersion therapy: wear the shoes at home with no one watching to get used to yourself in them. If you feel good, repeat at next-lowest anxiety environ.
While also hoping for a beepworld video on this, I think you might like Hannah Louise Poston's video called "how to match your wardrobe to your lifestyle", and maybe some of her other videos as well, her fashion content has been so so helpful to me
I love Ponchos, but i struggled with styling or wearing any Kind of bag with it - i was always unsatisfied how it ruined the beautiful structure and shape ?! I‘d Love a Poncho Styling Video 🧡
Don't really have 7 things, but what I loved in october was an artist in new york type of vibe with outfits. I had a diy project where I decorated a skirt with some beads so maybe that was the reason for me feeling inspired by that, aesthetic I would say. Going into november and december, I'm really really excited to style my two very obvious christmas cardigans! So that's 2 things?? 😅
Ponchos look awesome and are very versatile, but they are my most hated enemy for wearing. I regularly get abducted and beat up by door knobs while wearing a poncho.
Definitely feel you on climate shaping your style. I'm in South Texas, and scarfs aren't even a thing here. Lol. I'm still wearing tank tops and shorts 😢
liz i looooove how diverse your inspo pics/models always are!!!! you're always so thoughtful and inclusive about it. it should be a very normal and regular thing but unfortunately i really don't see much diversity from most other ppl!! much appreciated
Yes! I've had the same thought as a wheelchair user. Her and Hannah Louise are the two I always notice being "effortlessly inclusive" but I know it takes time to find so I really appreciate it.
100% yes. I'm also a wheelchair user and its so wonderful seeing folks in chairs in the example photos
Currently watching this in a poncho and vertical striped pants 😂😂😂😂 are you telling me my hippy ass is trendy this year??!! 😂
Hugs!
I get why #3 was so hard to put into words, but I agree that '60% maximalist' describes your style perfectly!
BEEPWORLD POSTED, DAY MADE
Would def love a video about lifestyle and hobbies influencing personal style, thank you 🙏
I second this! I got really into commuting by bike lately and I cannot wear what I wore before, I need to consider the exercise I'll do to get anywhere, and I'm really trying not to carry another whole ass outfit in my backpack lol. It's a struggle.
@@angienicolehernandez104 thirded because i walk everywhere and every time i put a complicated outfit on i end up cursing myself hahaha!!
Love hearing that I’m trendy while crocheting myself a poncho 😌✨
I'm with ya on the thick scarves. They just get too hot and then you have a big bulky thing. I know you were talking about thinner scarf material in this video so hear me out: double thin scarf on colder days. You get to play with color/pattern mixing, and if you get hot, you can take one off and still have a cute scarf on

- Oh and Percia is so awesome and has so many interesting and creative ideas!
I have been wearing ponchos since I was a little girl!!! So excited they're back because baby I have ALWAYS loved a poncho
that sleek poncho look >>>>
thank you as always for sharing your perspective ❣
& 7 fall fashion items I'm loving: unique clasps, pattern mixing, colorful tights, collar necklaces, cluster/large stud earrings, turtlenecks, velvet
yes the round pants!! i've been very into "lantern" pants and similar, sort of cropped wide leg pants that taper just a liiiitle bit at the bottom - when you talked about it i immediately thought of my "chef pants" from MEALS (which i got because i had been wanting white baggy cargo style pants for a long time and was influenced by kathleen illustrated when she got hers) and then you showed a picture of them! Fall wardrobe that feels fresh and stylish while being comfortable for the changing season

I’ve recently seen those closures too and been drawn to them, only on shoes. Love all the inspiration!
Already voted by mail!❤
Im loving the return of the ruffled chiffon boho blouse.

Going thrifting tomorrow as a reward for voting early (and to avoid too much anxiety), so I’m hoping to channel these good vibes into that trip.
I unironically want the 5 favorite jacket closures video
You talking about bouldering made me so excited, I've also been into it for a year or so! And I feel so heard, the people at the gym are literally the coolest and all my bouldering friends are style icons, I'm always aspiring to be as cool as them 😭

I actually thrifted lucy and yak stripy like pants, so fun
Omg the mountain climber/hiker aesthetic 😅. I feel so validated! As a dog walker this is how I dress most of the time and I would feel sad that it's not "fashion-y" but I've been trying to merge the two lately.
Medieval hats and hoods a trend is my fav rn! And medieval influence in general...
I love scarves. Keep my neck warm with crew neck/v neck sweaters. Boots, cargos , jackets. Love it all.
I swear there is like a fashion collective conscious sometimes, lol. Im not a pintrist insta or tik tok girly, and I still pick up on things. We all just vibe. ✨️
Thank you for recommending the percia verlin video cause it changed my life
My top fashion I’m loving are tights, plaid/flannel, dark brown, and any cozy knit sweater
I've loved gorpcore since I learned about it during covid. I have a puffer vest that I wear every winter and I just got a new The North Face fleece jacket for my birthday! Can't wait to style it.

I’m breastfeeding my second baby and a poncho honestly sounds so perfect for that haha.
Ponchos! YES!!!
I even go for the psychedelic and hippie.
ROUND PANTS...😍 Literally anything that makes me look more like a soap bubble.
Squealing with delight at my current OOTD already featuring a skinny red scarf. I am fashion personified. 😎
I’ve heard the firefighter clasps be called lobster clasps as well 🦞

Your make up and the color and material of the poncho really suits you a lot imo! Great content ;)
I get SO much outfit inspo from watching your videos. Constantly running to indyx to make outfits 😂
the vertical stripe trend is so fun to me but probably bc beetlejuice is one of my favorite fall movies lol. they're probably a bit difficult to thrift BUT they could be so easy and fun to DIY! nothing a little fabric paint and tape can't handle...!
Hi from Maryland. Hope you're enjoying it. Baltimore is so much fun for seeing brave, individual styles!
You could tooootally get some candy striped cotton or linen and make the Arthur pants out of it instead of trying to find striped pants second hand
I voted early in Nevada (blue) and have been canvassing for my candidate.
i have some stripe trousers like that from lucy and yak, i don’t think they sell the specific ones anymore but their silhouette is rly fun
YOU ALWAYS UPLOAD AT THE RIGHT TIMES WHEN IM MOST BORED!!!
always stoked to find out clothes i like and wear all the time are "trending"
7:39 carabineers, beanies and cargo pants are also the reasons i wear lesbian fashion as a sapphic girlie 😭 love that
I love your videos because your inspiration photos have me going… huh… I do like round pants!
omg ive subscribed, voted, watched other videos, AND earlier this summer I found a perfect fringe poncho at the thrift store… she truly did not lie
But this fashion style is also much easier to combine with sustainable fashion: the outfit is about the combination of items, not about One amazing nieuw pair of pants or top.
Fireman clasps are from the nineties! ❤
"camping is fashion">>>>
Oh my mom’s gonna go crazy. She loves them.
Can vouch for the Parade underwear ❤❤❤❤
While also hoping for a beepworld video on this, I think you might like Hannah Louise Poston's video called "how to match your wardrobe to your lifestyle", and maybe some of her other videos as well, her fashion content has been so so helpful to me
@@sj-el4lu thank you, great advice!
@@anna_mar thank you for the recommendation! :)
I love Ponchos, but i struggled with styling or wearing any Kind of bag with it - i was always unsatisfied how it ruined the beautiful structure and shape ?! I‘d Love a Poncho Styling Video 🧡
All my friends mums love wearing ponchos 😂
I’m imagining a “how weather impacts your style” collab with you and alexasunshine 👀
My top coat closures
1. Zip - sorry fashion girlies it’s too cold in the UK to have any air gaps
2. Toggles
3. Buttons
4 Belt tie
5. Velcro
😂😂
Nobody else looks at stars and stripes and thinks "circus" I do love those pants though.
You should wear them to VOTE!
I like ponchos!
wait i have that clasp jacket, it’s from UO 😅
i think my favorite jacket closure is a pearly button… not the most practical though
God: Liz, I need you to slay this.
Liz: Yes, Ma’am! 💖✨💖✨
Also, love the opening outfit with the ruffled white blouse and vest! Accessorized to perfection!😘
Ponchos look awesome and are very versatile, but they are my most hated enemy for wearing. I regularly get abducted and beat up by door knobs while wearing a poncho.
I'm such a gorpcore girlie but winter gorpcore makes me feel like really manly
I love how god is a ma'am!!! 💕👏
You’re looking beautiful today ❤
Definitely feel you on climate shaping your style. I'm in South Texas, and scarfs aren't even a thing here. Lol. I'm still wearing tank tops and shorts 😢
Team round pants ❤
