FINALLY! Someone who is disavowing “dress cute feel good”. I feel like this makes me feel worse every time because I end up trying on sooo many different pieces because nothing “feels right” which then heightens my insecurities and leaves me with a pile of clothes to put away. If I wanna rot in a sweatsuit then I’m gonna rot in that, not something uncomfortable to try and trick my mind cause society says so.
This is actually the best fashion advice I have ever received like dressing ugly when you feel it is so much better than dressing up and feeling uncomfortable
I love the way you brought us back to the basics like tidiness, noticing our emotional and physical state and choosing the outfit according to the situation. We tend to get a bit lost sometimes and it's refreshing to be grounded in a sensible and pleasant way like that. Thanks ❤
Lipstick with other make up. Lipstick without make up. Lipstick is such a holy grail. Even if you're just in a tank top, jeans and flip flops with your hair undone lipstick can always elevate the look. I am 10000% a red/black lipstick warrior
the 'items and styles you find beautiful aren't necessarily what you want to wear' is so real, for example I love short skirts and revealing outfits on other people but I have had to realise as much as I love some pieces I don't actually feel comfortable wearing them myself, and it's not an issue of lacking confidence that I simply need to work on to feel better in them, it's just simply not my thing as much as I adore it on other people. I personally enjoy such a wide variety of styles and for the longest time would buy a variety of pieces I find lovely, but my closet didn't really represent ME and it was too all over the place to have well matching outfits and a proper style. Also I love the point about not trying to force yourself into a stand out outfit on days you don't feel good in your skin, dressing more comfortably actually will improve your mood, rather than like you said, an outfit that just makes you feel like you're forcing it and want to get back home to take it off.
These are very insightful tips, and I have to admit I'm guilty of having a messy wardrobe as well as thinking of styling pieces with stuff I don't own yet. I noticed that when I take pics to sell the clothes I don't like anymore and style them nicely I suddenly start liking them again - because sometimes I feel so against picking up a certain piece that I haven't worn in a long time.
love this! This video caught my eye because I saw my face on the thumbnail LOL. You dropped some useful tips that I will definitely be using in the future :)
I resonate with the last point so much! Would love if you made a video specifically on that. Everyday dressing is maybe not as exciting as outfits most content creators are putting out but it’s literally the most practical for most people!!
These tips are EXCELLENT!!! Funny coincidence cuz I keep telling my sister “maybe it’s not a laco of clothes but a lack of organizing and proper storage” 😂Thanks for putting this together!
The thrift tip hit me hard oh god. I love my thrifting but I hit a Plato where most of the clothes just don’t feel right in me. I’m considering to start sewing to adjust them, but maybe I should first buy staples pieces that just fit me right first instead
noooo get into sewing if youre able to!! its so cool to wear your clothes and know its altered specifically for you!! plus way more options if you can wear dif sizes
Love that these tips are psychological stuff and not “buy this, it will make u stylish”

Leaning into how you're feeling while dressing is amazing advice
